Gameplay is the perfect mix of adventure staples and brain twisting puzzle devilry. Professor Layton's world is one you are happy to spend time in and hesitant to leave.
The professor's second adventure is just as good as the first one. Level-5 has managed to maintain a high standard of puzzles as well as a superb storyline with memorable characters and great dialogue.
loved the puzzles and the story is also very good, definitely my second favorite professor layton game. Unwounded future is a bit better story wise but theyre both a ten imo. This was my childhood and is very close to my heart
The first Layton game dubbed in Italian. Having first played the Curious Village (which had only English-voiced cutscenes), when i first heard the voices in my language i went full hype. Good in its own way, it's a little more original than the first title, and the story's structure has way improved. Great NDS title :)
Some might think this kind of game is only for fans of the point-and-click genre; however, there's a lot more to this series than that. The puzzles are very engaging and perfectly solvable, the story flows with ease and keeps you interested throughout, and the controls on the DS are very smooth.
With a fantastic story and numerous puzzles to keep you thinking, this DS game will keep you and your Stylus very busy and you will love it for that reason. Even if you missed the first game, picking this one up is a no-brainer.
Mysterious story brings players a new batch of brain-melting puzzles and enigmas. Not much improvement to the previous game but still more then worth playing. [Nov 2009]
With its clever combination of stories and brainteasers, The Diabolical Box has every indication of being merely the second in a potentially endless series of entertaining Professor Layton titles.
Professor Layton certainly has soul, but the puzzles themselves just aren't imaginative enough to save the adventure from feeling frequently out of breath. [Nov 2009, p.123]
A true masterpiece. If you love puzzle, story-driven games, point and click adventure or simply good games in general, you must play this. One of the best entry in the series and one of the best DS games out there
Una obra mestra dentro de la saga Layton.Recomendable para todos aquellos fans de ella.Puzzles dificiles y una historia simplemente increible alrededor de un pueblo perdido en la niebla.
Why is this game playing for me? I loved the first Layton game because it offered a challenge and this game pales in comparison. I am not playing the game and if you Say Zelda Skyward Sword holds your hand you are dead wrong because that game had a challenge this game utterly fails. The story is an improvement but the gameplay disappoints. Skyward Sword had more of a challenge for a puzzle adventure game.
I’m a huge fan of professor Layton but. And as in all the other games this one was my least favorite. The mini-games were good, but the story is the crappiest of all the series. Also, I didn’t like most of the character design.
