Gunpoint is fun, innovative, simple, engaging and a whole host of adjectives that would take far too much time to write out. So I will say this instead: Play this game because you won’t regret it.
Gunpoint isn't a long game - for $10, it doesn't have to be - but it's a delightfully lean experience. From the mechanics to the artistic direction, any trace of bloat has been done away with (if it was ever there to begin with).
I cannot express enough the awesomeness of this game. The music presents a mellow but intresting mood for the missions and home base. The graphics and art are amazing, but not distracting. Being rated by your client was also a nice touch. I also love how the story unfolds. I am tired of writing now, but I urge you to play this interesting game.
One of the best indie titles I've played in a long while. Really enjoyed the stealth mechanics and how they are put to use with the cleverly designed levels.
The story may be its weakest point for me, but it's so much fun to play I didn't care at all.
Gunpoint is short, but it feels like the right length. You can get through the whole game in about three hours. The story is dense and the dialogue choices are varied, offering incentive to replay the game.
Gunpoint is a stylish and fun indie game that manages to convey more effort and value in three hours than most other games do in ten. The feeling of a successful heist is fantastic, especially if you made it out with zero witnesses.
Gunpoint is a game with tremendous respect for the player, essentially giving you a toolbox of spy gadgets and a new stealth playground in every level, then letting you have at it at your own pace.
Gunpoint is stylish, incredibly atmospheric and quite deceptive as it is actually a clever puzzle rather than stealth action. Too bad it is only 3 hours long, and there is no incentive to revisit the game when you’re done with it.
Modifiable has a level editor this is great homage to games that used to be, the novel spy gear hooks etc and little events after playing some of the player made levels there leave much more to do.
A complete pack of Player made missions stack with a story would be great.
A really fun mini tactics platformer with minimalist oldschool design and quite a lot of humour. Very well-designed and enjoyable to play, but ultimately too short and unchallenging to become a long-term favourite.
Solid.
My main negative comment is that it's extremely-extremely short (is it about a dozen missions or so?).
Otherwise, the game is well executed, levels designed nicely but are a bit easy (again, because the game is short short - there is no time to develop anything - story, characters, item upgrades, nemeses, etc.), music is so very befitting the pulp-fiction genre, graphics are simple yet atmospheric.
If ONLY the story was developed a bit more, to get a gameplay time of at least 20 hours (finished this one in 7 hours at a very leisurely pace), to open up the characters, to make the player work for upgrades and money. Some side missions irrelevant to the story would not hurt, and so on.
Good game. Why so short?!
Super overrated. The setting is nice, and the plot somehow interesting. But the art is pretty poor, and the games is interesting for a short time, soon becomes boring and repetitive.
SummaryGunpoint is a stealth puzzle game that lets you rewire its levels to trick people.
