Objectively, this album is great. It's a high 7 definitely. It's highs are really high, "gold rush" is an amazing song that hits very hard emotionally with breathtaking production to accompany it. The final track "evermore" has an amazing change up near the end that shocked me. I was getting slightly bored by the end of it, but Bon Iver's verse makes the song amazing for me.

There were 2 bonus tracks were balanced. "right where you left me" was a pretty good song, but "it's time to go was quite boring and kinda left a sour taste in my mouth after finishing the album. This album would be alright without these bonus tracks.

The songs "coney island" and "happiness" were boring and slow in comparison to some good tracks. "willow", "no body, no crime", and "cowboy like me" are great songs, with the rest being mostly good. "closure" was a very experiment song and it worked for me. The drum sample is just an example of how Taylor Swift's music can take great turns and work.

Album had a few great songs with mostly solid songs and some boring songs.

Evermore is a sister album of Folklore, and they have differences. Folklore is still the best album. BUT I love the songs of this album, and some lyrics are painful and sassy. Some songs are not in this album, but I like the beats and the cover of this album.

It's not as good as Folklore, but Evermore (9.5/10) is a wonderful album. It's so underrated and needs more recognition. The songs, like Folklore, are so beautiful and dreamy. Amazing!

Fantastic album. The older sister of folklore, in my opinion. I think what really makes this album fantastic is her ability for story telling. In folklore and evermore she learns to tell 3rd person stories and heartbreaks from a perspective that isn't her own. I also think this is mainly because of Joe Alwyn. She doesn't need to write about her own heartbreak anymore because she's healedFantastic album. The older sister of folklore, in my opinion. I find it difficult to rate/review this album without mentioning her older sister, however, I think it's time evermore, the "forgotten" younger sister gets the recognition she deserves, even a glimpse of the spotlight that shines on "folklore". Mother went into the woods and decided to make us all depressed, and I love her for that. Some of my personal highlights are "gold rush", "ivy," "cowboy like me" "evermore" "right where you left me" and "it's time to go". Expand

Since she announced the album, I saw the pictures and it was obvious that Evermore was going to have a similar concept as Folklore. So I decided I was going to listen it without comparing it and I'm impressed, I really loved the album. I'm amazed by the Dressner brothers, Jack Antonoff and the talent behind the scenes. It is a soothing album, perfect for the times we're living.

Swift touches on so much more – nuanced acts of forgiveness, complex personal histories, the ability to visualize and know how a person can look in different shades of light. No doubt Swift is still the master of writing a spiteful kiss-off, but the songs of Evermore are a welcomed step in a more mature direction.

Story arcs such as "tis the damn season", and "dorothea", and songs that are stories on their own such as "coney island" give this album a life of its own, instead of just being another folklore. “evermore” is a great album. Whilst being overshadowed by its “sister” album “folklore” it adds back to her country roots in some ways. This is evident in songs like “no body no crime”, “dorothea” and “cowboy like me”. Personally, I prefer this more than “folklore”. My favourites are “ivy”, “right where you left me”, and “long story short.

The lyricism in this album is unmatched, except maybe by folklore but I find the lyrics and individual songs stronger here but the album is less cohesive as folklore. Champagne Problems and Tolerate It are two of the best songs in her discography period. The metaphors in Ivy are chef kiss. This is a very soothing album to listen to. This is folk-indie music, do not expect a pop sound. - "I made you my temple, my mural my sky; now I'm begging for footnotes in the story of your life"
    - "and I was catching my breath, staring out an open window, catching my death"

Yes, it does have a similar concept, mood, and sound to folklore- but most artists stay in the same/similar genre throughout their entire career. So why can't Taylor? She's pleased us with many genre/style changes and she did it well every single time, and 'folklore' was met with much more than toleration from her fans and critics even after a huge shift in music style- just another reason to stay in this genre. This album being similar to folklore is a very bad reason to say it's trash. Some critics even said it was an upgrade from folklore, which not everyone may agree with and that's fine. But just understand that it's definitely not a horrible album, unlike what some people say.

Do I even need to get into the instrumentals? My favorite was 'tis the d*mn season'.

Even though we get a catchy moment of goofy, snarling country midway through, the album is a result of the emotional clarity that a year in quarantine provided. Swift has written about curdling relationships splendidly in the past, but there's a new dimension to her writing that wasn’t there before. Onward.
