    This is definitely a contender for the best album of the year! For a debut album, Olivia Rodrigo managed to exceed expectations. I love how she delivered pure vocals, lyric genius, best new artist and storytelling writing ability on each track on the album. Olivia's career will definitely be at its highest peak for this. She's a star to look forward to! Superb album!

The album is very mature and cohesive, the production is great and every song is well thought-out and adds to the projects as a whole. There are no filler songs and it really feels like care was taken to produce a great body of work that can be enjoyed all the way through. If someone tells me one more time "enjoy your youth", I'm gonna cry." - Then, she sings about heartache, what she's gone through in her teen years through her own experience, yet making it completely general so anyone can take her words and make them their own. It's a heartbreak album with angst, and quite honestly, no artist should ever shy away from what they really want to write about, and I'm glad Rodrigo did just that. Her talent is clear with her first three debut singles going straight to number one, thus making history as a woman musician. She is here to change the world, and we are merely just watching and listening as she does so. One of the best albums of 2021, and we only get to see her grow from here. 10/10.… Expand

    SOUR is a masterpiece. You go in expecting it to be like: "whatever *shrug*", but it surprises tf outta you and turns out to be amazing. Olivia deserves all the Grammys and other awards for this absolute once in a decade album. 10/10 would recommend everyone to listen to it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is, in my opinion the best album of the year. First the album starts of with a ice braking punk pop inspired hit in brutal. Then directly after totally changing up the mood with the beutiful and heartbreaking song traitor. Then obviously we have the biggest hit of 2021 Drivers Licence, which is still as Good as it was when it came out. After that we have the simplistic but Beautiful song 1 step forward 3 Steps back, which I would say is an incredible song to go into after to big Heartbreak ballads in traitor and Drivers Licence as an ice breaker song to calm down the mood a little. Then we got the beautiful and again a great mix Up from the last song when this is next to a little happy and angry att the se time, just a Beautiful song. Then we go in to the second biggest hit from the album, and may become the biggest on the the album as it is Still two months after It's realease dominantly getting the most streams of Any song right now earning over 55 million streams Every week. You can also easily see why it has become so popular as this also a Little pop punk inspired song is probably the most catchy song in the whole entire album. After the little angry song in Good 4 U we have probably one of the saddest songs on the album, Enough For You. This song is even more heartbreaking than, for me, any other song on the album. Then we go over to Happier which is not really that much happier than Enough For You, but is agian another Heartbreak ballads which seems to be kinda the theme of this album, to show all the "Sour" parts of Love and life. But I would still say that every song brings something different to the table and Happier is no exception. When she in this song starts showing a little bit of that jealous side and I think this is something everyone goes through in a Heartbreak. Now we go over to the next song, Jealousy jealousy. This is for me One of the most relatable songs on the whole entire album. I also think this song talks about a very important topic nowadays, the internet and how humans are portrayed to be like, and she does it in such a good and relatable way. Just an incredible song. Then we now have come to the 10th song of the album Favourite Crime. This song is again just a very beautiful song, talking about all the bad stuff she did just to be together with this one boy, and everything she went trough just so they could be together. Now we have the last song of the album, Hope Ur Ok.I would say this is a perfect way to ens an album which for me had been an emotional roller coaster. It's soft and again beautiful and just the absolutely best song to end on. Overall this album is just amazing with amazing songwriting and an amazing voice in Olivia Rodrigo. IF you haven't already listened to this album I think you really should because, this is definetly worth a listen, and you will probably be a bryter person after listening to this.

    Álbum que pode ser facilmente ouvido por qualquer pessoa e mesmo assim não deixa de ter personalidade. Bem versátil e com singles chicletes, o que um álbum debut tem que ser pra conseguir se destacar, sinceramente.. Ficou muito bom, ainda mais se considerado o pouco tempo de produção. Tem álbuns debut que levam 2,3 anos para serem criados e não têm o mesmo impacto.

    We knew that Olivia Rodrigo was going to be one of the best singers of this decade with "Driver's License" and then SOUR came along and changed everything.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In my opinion, "SOUR" is one of the best debut albums I've listened to. Olivia started her career on Disney Channel and ended up creating her own music. Really good production, emotional lyrics and Olivia's beautiful voice makes this album incredible. Totally a 10 to me!     This album singlehandedly made rock mainstream again with the global hit good 4 u, a modern classic! It’s an amazing debut and I can’t wait for Olivia’s next project i hope it has more rock leaning songs!!

    Loved it. Production was great. Takes you to a rollercoaster of emotions backed by great track listing and top tier lyrics. A nostalgic album for sure.

    One of the best debut albums ever! The pain this album can cause, you can feel the emotions from Olivia through her vocal ability and her lyricism. One of the strongest songs is definitely "1 step forward, 3 steps back" even though some listeners of the album won’t think that song is the best, in reality it’s one of the best songs ever written.     Sour, for the most part, is a pop album that dips its toes into the alt-pop and bedroom pop subgenres, specifically spending most of its time in the latter. ... Rodrigo's lo-fi deep cuts that were made in the shadow of "Drivers License" can sound a bit repetitive. Her craft as a songwriter is especially evident on tracks like "Enough For You", "Happier", or "Hope Ur Ok", but the acoustic complexion these songs were going for could have benefitted from a bit more background noise.

    By the end of the album, Rodrigo has established her voice and showed listeners that she's not afraid to be vulnerable. SOUR is a strong debut that vividly illustrates the beautiful chaos of being inside a teenage girl's brain.
