Solium Infernum is a truly satisfying political strategy game with a ton of unique systems to allow you to scheme and backstab to your heart's content.
Solium Infernum is an exquisite gamer, with carefully honed mechanics and a lot of freedom. Dominating Hell involves both careful plans and smart reactions to unforeseen events and surprises created by adversaries. The game does ask players to invest time and energy to learn all its mechanics and how they interact with each other. The single player is fun by itself but a willingness to engage in multiplayer unlocks more of the title’s potential. Solium Infernum is a must-have for turn-based fans who want to rule Hell using deceit and strength.
Nothing is more hellish than bureaucracy, and Solium Infernum is all about taking advantage of and subverting the rules that restrict your actions.
Easy (but slow) to learn, hard to master, Solium Infernum punishes every mistake, being a game only for the smartest players. Remaking a cult classic, League of Geeks triumphs with depth and a great multiplayer.
Solium Infernum offers a refreshing take on turn-based strategy, prioritizing geopolitical decisions over battles. Despite its initial complexity, it becomes relatively easy to grasp after a few turns. The asynchronous multiplayer feature allows for engaging matches even with time-constrained friends. While not a technical marvel, the game boasts solid graphics and an outstanding soundtrack, although a clearer interface would be appreciated.
Overall, Solium Infernum is a great option for groups of friends who enjoy strategy and/or board games. The satisfaction of success is immense. The artwork is fantastic but more unique army character models would be nice. The gameplay is enjoyable with options for different approaches. The lack of actions per turn is a bit disappointing, especially when play asynchronously.
A Hellish turn-based management simulator with moments of fun that ultimately hasn’t evolved the 4X formula.
