Boy Kills World is a two-hour roller coaster. You’ll leave exhausted and beaten, and yet feeling like maybe you too can defeat the fascist dictators in your life.
It’s not a complete package but it’s fresher than much of what’s out there today and is difficult to dismiss even if it sometimes feels like a graphic novel married to a video game.

Em certos momentos me lembrou uma mistura de Kill Bill e John Wick, pela busca por vingança mesmo e a ação frenética, num mundo meio distópico controlado a mão de ferro, que lembra os filmes adolescentes sobre governos autoritários (Divergente, Jogos mortais etc). No entanto, por mais que seja uma mistura de várias referências, até mesmo Karate Kid na fase inicial de preparação do nosso protagonista, o filme se destaca mesmo pelo balé nas cenas de ação, e por mais que as balas convenientemente não dê cabo ao nosso herói, confesso que não desgrudava o olho da tela, e ainda com uma edição primorosa que nem faz cansar as quase duas horas de muito sangue, tiro, porrada e bomba. Super empolgante, e o personagem principal tem seu arco, inclusive familiar, muito bem construído, de modo que as conveniências do roteiro, sinceramente, podem ir para o espaço. Quero o segundo já!

The umpteenth John Wick clone, now with 'The Hunger Games' and 'The Purge' elements. It's not terrible but not original; it borrows things from similar films to create an inferior mix. The best thing is to see Bill Skarsgård ripped af.

It’s nobody’s masterpiece, but it is an exceptionally promising start for Mohr, making his feature debut as a director.
Boy Kills World, a cheeky and extremely bloody action extravaganza, keeps an audience so off-balance for so long that you may throw in the towel well before the final bad guy falls.
There are clever ideas and casting flourishes at the heart of “Boy Kills World.” But in execution, one keeps coming back to the phrase “Less is more,” even in a hyper-violent action comedy where the excess is kind of the point.
Boy Kills World comes across as obnoxious, and the viewer already feels exhausted within the first 15 minutes of the film. It's as if the creative team wanted to make a cult movie but completely forgot cult movies have to be fun.
There’s no apparent human feeling on display here, just scene after scene of protracted martial arts combat that goes on and on, while providing no rooting interest.
Boy Kills World is not a good movie. To be fair, I don't think it wants to. This movie is just aspiring to be a bloody action-packed spectacle, and it manages that pretty well, but it fails at everything else. The movie has a fun premise that could make an interesting action comedy, but the way they execute it is just...weird. For having such a simple story, it feels so convoluted, having twist after twist after twist that just stop landing after a certain point. The dialogue is very VERY bad, which some times is unintentionally funny, but most of the time is just, again, weird. The way I see this film is like the kind of goofy project you have with your friends where you all just brainstorm ideas of stuff you thing is cool and then put it all in a script, but you forget that when making a story, it's necessary to cut things. This movie is what happens if you don't, it's just too much. Still, I could see why someone would have a fun time with it, and I really hope this film finds a public that enjoys it for what it is, it's just that, that public won't be me.

Old Boy may have been the original, but John Wick made the single killer massacre a box office staple. The latest to join the bloody gang is Bill Skarsgård, who has buffed up to play "Boy," a deaf mute who's whipped into shape by a shaman to wreak revenge for the murder of his parents. Once the stream of violence starts, it's pretty much non-stop mayhem. However, the nervous camerawork and muddled direction often make the action a blur. There are a few cool moments of fight choreography, but mostly it's a lot of havoc without much else. The attempt to add an emotional element doesn’t help. There's basically nothing, except maybe for Michelle Dockery's juicy villain, that makes this film more than a blur of blood. NOTE: Stay thru the credits for a final moment.
