Infinite playability and attention to the he-men details make this a treat. [Mar 2002, p.34]
A fantastically comprehensive and playable wrestling sim - if it's actually possible to simulate something that isn't 'real' in the first place.

I have had lots and lots of fun with this game. Smackdown series is the best game series of all time.

What more can I say, this game is amazing.
Realistic season mode, improved graphics, and all of the WWF drama that you could wish for in a console game.
The multiple game modes and environments, new wrestlers and intuitive control makes WWF Smackdown 2!: Know Your Role one of the best wrestling games to date, on any platform.
A great game, but having to stand around backstage and watch the other characters perform is maddening. I guess that's what any rookie wrestler goes through.
With more than 50 WWF superstars, a fantastic array of matches, and unparalleled, blisteringly fast gameplay, it's the only squared-circle brawler you need to buy. Anything else, especially the horrendous "WCW Backstage Assault," isn't worth your time.
Awesome game about wrestling on PS1,nice soundtrack,big choise of wrestlers,it's on of the legendary games about World Wrestling Federation.

What a game!! The Season is really long and you earn to unlock new people. The vids that come up every week can get repetitive though, but I still love it!

There is the one of the best wrestling game of all time, and the best fighting game after Tekken3! The Rock Layeth the SmackDown. Real video entrances of all wrestlers than in WWF No Mercy due to cartridge's limit!

This was a defining game for the first Playstation as its gameplay was good, the unlockables seemed infinite, it had a great list of playable wrestlers and was generally enjoyable.

Summary Prepare for the most outrageous WF experience ever created. Brawl in the ring, backstage, in the VIP room, the parking lot of the new WF New York. Let your fury rage in the new Tornado Tag Team mode. If that's not hardcore enough, pull out the tables, ladders or chairs and really get nasty.
