Station to Station has come a long way since the demo and it’s clear to see that the team at Galaxy Grove have big plans for the game. I’m quite impressed by just how challenging Station to Station is, and highly recommend any gamer looking for a good (but not impossible) challenge to give this game a red-hot crack. Even if the puzzles stump you, the graphics alone will make the headache worth it, especially when you watch a spider-train crawl its way around the map!
But as you delve deeper into the game, a challenge worthy of real transport planners emerges. Linking passenger and freight transport is more challenging than you might think. Despite the fact that it's the same mechanics over and over again, the game doesn't get boring. Plus, it looks really nice thanks to the voxel graphics and the nicely chosen colour palette. In its current state, Station to Station is just lovely. I love the aesthetic, soundtrack, and puzzles, and it has been a joy to sink into daily over the last few weeks on Steam Deck. I hope a future update adds the ability to go a step back or destroy a part rather than reloading. With a lot planned for the game already, Station to Station is worth your time, and I can’t wait to play the new content when the updates arrive.
Ultimately, Station to Station is a very relaxing experience and wonderful for anyone who likes solving puzzles. The style and feel of it all is calming despite sometimes suffering failure and having to restart or reset from a checkpoint. It is a short game, being completed in around 8–10 hours, but then the custom mode helps to add more for anyone who wants to keep going.
The concept of Station to Station sounds incredibly simple at first, but this sweet pixelated world will enchant you for hours on end - regardless of your passion for trains or railway networks.
Station to Station is a really... cute game! Yes, sometimes there's no need for grandiose terms, just as there's no need for hundred-hour-long games. Sometimes, as this title itself explains, all you need is something that can be opened and closed in ten minutes, a magical portal that takes you away from the line at the post office or from the next Excel sheet to review. With this purpose in mind, Station to Station is unbeatable; as an actual game, however, there's much better out there.
SummaryStation to Station’is a minimalist & relaxing game about building railway connections. Grab your conductor’s hat and bring the voxel-art world to life through the magic of trains!
