    It's a good album. Strong vocals and great production and instrumentation though I find some of the distortion effects on the vocals a little harsh. My main issue is the theme. Every song is a sad love song. It gets a little boring by the time you get to the end of the album. With that said, I think this album is a solid start for a singer/songwriter who is right at the start of herIt's a good album.     I am definitely don’t for new artist but with this one it felt like I have heard every song from somewhere else.
    Some songs are having one that one little catchy moment and that’s it. I don’t find that kind of music any interesting :(

    Has some really good tracks such as "brutal", "deja vu" and "jealousy, jealousy" and then has total letdowns and disappointments like "enough for you" and "hope ur ok". Good album, but lacks cohesion.

    Feels extremely done to death. Very overhyped and overrated. Brings nothing new to the table. Whether the sound or the concept or the execution. We have seen all of this before, she's just the new kid on the block , that the general public is hyping up before they move on tl their new obsession 2 yrs down the line. Feels like Taylor Swift 2.0

    I wish i could give it a 10 but it lacks some songwriting subject versatility (since the songwriting is good but putting it like this, if you're not a teen who has been hurt by your ex you just won't be into it), and it does sound a lot like other people sometimes, like Paramore, Taylor Swift, Lorde... But with that out of the way, it's an amazing album, a remarkable debut (and probablyI wish i could give it a 10 but it lacks some songwriting subject versatility (since the songwriting is good but putting it like this, if you're not a teen who has been hurt by your ex you just won't be into it), and it does sound a lot like other people sometimes, like Paramore, Taylor Swift, Lorde...     A half emotionally lacking metal part and guitar-guitar acoustic with lots of emotional parts are what make this album what it is. Personally too totally different types of music should not be mixed in a singular album. Probably an album made nit to be listened to at once is already considered not a good effort .     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is, in my opinion the best album of the year. First the album starts of with a ice braking punk pop inspired hit in brutal. Then directly after totally changing up the mood with the beutiful and heartbreaking song traitor. Then obviously we have the biggest hit of 2021 Drivers Licence, which is still as Good as it was when it came out. After that we have the simplistic but Beautiful song 1 step forward 3 Steps back, which I would say is an incredible song to go into after to big Heartbreak ballads in traitor and Drivers Licence as an ice breaker song to calm down the mood a little. Then we got the beautiful and again a great mix Up from the last song when this is next to a little happy and angry att the se time, just a Beautiful song. Then we go in to the second biggest hit from the album, and may become the biggest on the the album as it is Still two months after It's realease dominantly getting the most streams of Any song right now earning over 55 million streams Every week. You can also easily see why it has become so popular as this also a Little pop punk inspired song is probably the most catchy song in the whole entire album. After the little angry song in Good 4 U we have probably one of the saddest songs on the album, Enough For You. This song is even more heartbreaking than, for me, any other song on the album. Then we go over to Happier which is not really that much happier than Enough For You, but is agian another Heartbreak ballads which seems to be kinda the theme of this album, to show all the "Sour" parts of Love and life. But I would still say that every song brings something different to the table and Happier is no exception. When she in this song starts showing a little bit of that jealous side and I think this is something everyone goes through in a Heartbreak. Now we go over to the next song, Jealousy jealousy. This is for me One of the most relatable songs on the whole entire album. I also think this song talks about a very important topic nowadays, the internet and how humans are portrayed to be like, and she does it in such a good and relatable way. Just an incredible song. Then we now have come to the 10th song of the album Favourite Crime. This song is again just a very beautiful song, talking about all the bad stuff she did just to be together with this one boy, and everything she went trough just so they could be together. Now we have the last song of the album, Hope Ur Ok.I would say this is a perfect way to ens an album which for me had been an emotional roller coaster. It's soft and again beautiful and just the absolutely best song to end on. Overall this album is just amazing with amazing songwriting and an amazing voice in Olivia Rodrigo. IF you haven't already listened to this album I think you really should because, this is definetly worth a listen, and you will probably be a bryter person after listening to this.

    I'm totally in love with each and every song from this Album. From Songwriting to Vocals, Production everything is just perfect.
    You can feel the heartbreak just by Listening to Olivia's voice. Songs like Deja Vu, Driver's licence and Traitor are good to listen when you miss your ex. While Good For You give the vibes of angry and sad.

    Álbum que pode ser facilmente ouvido por qualquer pessoa e mesmo assim não deixa de ter personalidade. Bem versátil e com singles chicletes, o que um álbum debut tem que ser pra conseguir se destacar, sinceramente.. Ficou muito bom, ainda mais se considerado o pouco tempo de produção. Tem álbuns debut que levam 2,3 anos para serem criados e não têm o mesmo impacto.

    Olivia Rodrigo is a good songwriter and singer and although this album is good I just wish she would have changed things up a little. I think the only thing memorable about this album is the records it broke, its unoriginal and in a couple months it will be forgotten.

    Sour can best be described as a bland fever dream. An album that took mainstream critics by storm yet leaves a ton to be desired for anyone who doesn't listen to radio. It's not a terrible project and has some definite potential. However Olivia wears her influences on her sleeves and it really bleeds into this album.

However Olivia wears her influences on her sleeves and it really bleeds into this album.

    The album starts off with "brutal" which is probably one of the best tracks on the album, a killer guitar rift which portrays Olivia's frustration with being a teenager in a very hardcore and convincing way. The references to Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and profanity really sell this track for me. However after that the record goes downhill from there.

    "traitor" is a obnoxious breakup ballad that just seems like a Taylor Swift reject. Decent vocals with awful reverb that puts me to sleep, "drivers license" is the most **** and boring hits to come out of the mainstream in awhile. Probably one of the worst hit songs of 2021, a boring, simple piano ballad with some cringeworthy lyrics that will make you roll your eyes. And tracks like "favorite crime" with no emotion behind them whatsoever with extremely lackluster production.

    However tracks like 'deju vu" and "jealousy, jealousy" pick up the pace with decent song writing an impressive guitar work. "good 4 u" can also fit into this category and has definitely grown on me the more I've heard it.

    Overall SOUR had a lot good ideas and well intentions behind it with mediocre results. Although with more song writing practice and better producers Olivia Rodrigo has a promising future ahead of her.    … Expand

    A short but well done debut album of a girl who is sure to only improve with time and experience. The singles (Driver's License, Deja Vu, and Good 4 U) are probably my favorites off the album, but Olivia's songwriting skills are definitely on display across the board. I can't wait to see what she does in the future!

    Absolutely NO skips. By far the best debut album of all-time. A great rollercoaster of emotions packed into 11 beautiful songs. 11/10 album.

    The driving license was good but the rest of the album is just tit-bits from other popular songs and crafted as "inspired"......
    Adding label pushed to radio and Spotify playlisting...and controversies throughout the year.....nothing artistic about the whole album as claimed... it's just a teenager crying for the broken heart and copy-pasting words from others

Olivia's chart successes and certifications speak for themselves. But it's just difficult for me to relate to the songs, which is mainly because I'm definitely not Olivia's target audience.

    Despite all this, Olivia Rodrigo's debut is melancholic and strongly reminds of Lorde's debut "Pure Heroine" (2013), which changed the world of pop in a similar way back then. For me, "SOUR" offers not much in terms of artistry; it's not room-filling and too flat. Perhaps the collection of breakup songs describes the style of Gen Z teenage girl pop. But it falls short on versatility and it hasn't really got a message. All in all, it's overhyped - 7 out of 10.

    I loved/really like Brutal, Traitor, Jealousy Jealousy, Good For You, & Drivers License but the rest all sound so similar. It needed a few more bangers to add some life to the tracklist. Especially since all of them are towards the front half.

    This album is amazingly written, each song is sonically pleasing and cohesive. It's definitely one of my favorites and played constantly, In my opinion it should definitely take the grammy. The only reason I wouldn' t give it a 10 is because every song (But the last one) is about the same, her ex and the breakup.

    Olivia Rodrigo's album "Sour" has punch lines and savage lyrics. The album is beautiful and very good. My favorite songs on this album are "Drivers License," "Deja Vu," "Good 4 U," "Happier," and Hope Ur OK."

    Rodrigo has just come out of the Disney world after acting in a couple of shows she started off in Bizardvk which sadly ended up getting cancelled, but this ended up in her way, as this pathed her to where she is now. Olivia comes out of nowhere with the heartfelt young relatable song called drivers licence and follows it with a High production Project. Sour has really good well constructed ideas that were really relatable for teens around her age, and with a culture filled with society, it seemed they really did love it. Sour to me represents the feelings that late teen feels throughout their teen years. There are songs about; being in love happily, being in love in a sad way, a song about being stressed and even songs about complaining. A relatble masterpiece.

    Me deixa extremamente feliz, que uma garota tão jovem, consiga falar sobre as vulnerabilidades, dores, perdas, medos, e anseios que todas nós sentimos, mas que às vezes não conseguimos expressar. Ela disse tudo que eu senti em um término, tudo que eu queria poder dizer pra pessoa. E isso me deixou grata! Acho um álbum lindo.

    I think this album is a good album. It had a lot of hits as a debut album and it's very good for a novice artist.
    Of course, I really liked Good 4 You and Brutal, and I hope to hear more pop punk songs on Olivia's future albums. Of course, the ballads were also good, but I give more points to these two songs.

    We knew that Olivia Rodrigo was going to be one of the best singers of this decade with "Driver's License" and then SOUR came along and changed everything.

    o projeto debut é no melhor medíocre, não é cativante e parece uma cópia barata dos projetos dos artistas grandes de hoje em dia. é extremamente superestimado, não é um álbum que merecia pop vocal of the year ao competir com projetos de extrema qualidade vocal e produção inovativa.

    Basic production, basic lyrics, nothing new or exciting. You can count thee or four songs for listening without getting bored. Sour only shares Olivia's heartbreak and insecurities, she's still unrevealed as an artist, who's she without her last relationship? We don't know yet. There's a large lack of her own herself personality and identity, anyone can sound like her.

Olivia started her career on Disney Channel and ended up creating her own music. Really good production, emotional lyrics and Olivia's beautiful voice makes this album incredible. Totally a 10 to me! It is full of strong songs but, like Ariana Grande’s Sweetener, also had a couple of unmemorable songs that ruined the flow (hope ur okay has never stuck after listening to it multiple times). Thankfully, the album’s worst track is at the end, so it doesn’t kill the momentum built up. Still though, this means its conclusion7/10 - Sour is a bit overhyped, but full of bops nonetheless. All of the songs take on a negative outlook, which is her storytelling, but it would have been interesting to see another side of the story that she narrates. Sour still has very catchy songs that deserve hype, but I personally feel like the hype the album got was overbearing and set it up for failure when I decided I needed more. While I can compliment the album and how it produced so many hits, half of the songs got old quickly (the radio overplaying them, TikTok impact, etc.). When it all comes down to it, Sour is a hard-hitting, big body of work with even bigger shoes that it failed to fill.… Expand

    I love this album because it shows the issues we go through as teenagers or young adults with deep and touching lyrics. The production of this album refers to the pop punk years 2000 I liked that the return of this type of music is highlighted with a touch of modernity way 2022. For an 18 year old girl, she is extremely talented, I can't wait to discover her other projects.

    While many people watched as Driver's License was taking off, it was hard to move past the smell of "industry plant" that I was getting.

    Nonetheless, "Driver's License" and "Hope You're Okay" manage to showcase Olivia's vulnerability and vocals well. Other tracks like "Good For You" and "Deja vu" fail to hit the mark, feeling rushed and targeted specifically and only for career trajectory.

    I look forward to seeing what Olivia does with her future projects.    … Expand

    Sour, for the most part, is a pop album that dips its toes into the alt-pop and bedroom pop subgenres, specifically spending most of its time in the latter. ... Rodrigo's lo-fi deep cuts that were made in the shadow of "Drivers License" can sound a bit repetitive. Her craft as a songwriter is especially evident on tracks like "Enough For You", "Happier", or "Hope Ur Ok", but the acoustic complexion these songs were going for could have benefitted from a bit more background noise.
