    I don’t like it. Her worst work. Pov is the only real good song. All the songs sound the same and the lyrics are quite empty, also the songs are really short.

    Positions was a great disappointment for the simple reason that each track holds no distinction from each other. A good 12 songs sound the same. The album is filled with basic generic pop lyrics sung over recycled, and tired beats.

    So bland, repetitive and boring. I’ve been a fan of her past albums, but this I absolutely do not enjoy. On top of the generic production, the lyricism is atrocious (Can we stay up all night, f*ck me till the daylight) ?!!??? Just overall it’s incredibly weak. Very disappointed.

The sound is rushed and overall horrible, I couldn’t even go through some of the songs on the first listen. I don’t understand how her team listened to most of these songs and still allowed them to be released. The only decent ones would be POV and Positions, but even those feel like filler tracks.… Expand

    This album has definitely aged like milk. It's great that this was a passion project for Ariana over lockdown but compared to Dangerous Woman and thank u, next - this sounds lazy. Those albums had authenticity and signature hits, whereas positions sort of merges into one continuous song that you can't differentiate. It's a shame really, I'd say Ariana needs to take some time for AG7. ButThis album has definitely aged like milk.     Ariana needs to learn to make the lyrics as beautiful as the melodies, her voice and the singing. She could hire better songwriters or learn how to write better, since she wants to have the "yuh" factor, the grace of Audrey Hepburn and all that we all adore (and so we want excellence from her).     Absolute generic pop trash. What the heck are even some of these lyrics?? What a downgrade from "thank u, next". The beats are catchy, but these lyrics are absolutely awful. Some songs literally sound like a Claire's background music or Justice lol

    some okay music, but all or most of ariana’s music sounds the same. her songs are very generic for her style and essentially have the same foundations: a slow, rhythmic beginning with a bass or trap beat added soon after a vocal introduction which is typically a run. she sings and typically has a verse of rap, and uses a flashy high / whistle note to help bring the song to an end. hersome okay music, but all or most of ariana’s music sounds the same. her songs are very generic for her style and essentially have the same foundations: a slow, rhythmic beginning with a bass or trap beat added soon after a vocal introduction which is typically a run. she sings and typically has a verse of rap, and uses a flashy high / whistle note to help bring the song to an end. her songs also usually talk about some sort of romantic or sexual love, whether the love be bittersweet or wonderful.

    I feel that Ariana in her attempt to make herself known as a sexual and free woman did not focus on her tone of voice reflecting what she says. All songs sound the same. There is no comparison to Sweetener.

    It's depressing that she's receiving so much success from this album, it's really not as great as her other works and no tracks were very interesting or innovative. No new ground, this was a disappointment, there were much better albums this year than positions.

    Ariana is the McDonalds of the music industry, putting out music every few months in order to stay relevant and dominate the musical landscape. I would recommend more time and artistry in her next project.

    A basic album, with songs that look the same. Honestly, I don't think anyone – myself included – expected such a monotonous album. Ariana Grande is a very talented singer, but apparently she doesn't like to sing, as we can see when checking the length of the songs. She really needs to innovate. I hope your next album doesn't disappoint us or leave us to be desired like "Positions" did.

    i was expecting a lot more from her. sweetener and thank u, next were really good, somehow. positions sounds very ambitious, rushed, incomplete. she made a political music video but none of the tracks are political. they're all about being horny during quarantine. no artistic growth. a waste of talent.

    Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
