Somehow, she just keeps getting better. Bloodpop does a wonderful job of making some of the more retro-sounding songs sounds modern, and Gaga's vocals are more powerful than ever. This album is going to be on repeat for quite awhile.

A very changed Gaga! And I personally admire that. This subtle side of her is really good, and I really wished that she just stayed in this version.

'Joanne' is her best album by far. Simply like that. Stripping the popstar persona, Lady Gaga delivers her most rich album. Yes. Less can be more. Some fans may not enjoy. I'm an old fan and this is the album I was waiting for, from this artist, because I've always seen in her, something genuine and refined. Sorry Madonna, craving the throne of "queen of pop', never seemed so...reductive.

I'm thankful for this album. I've been always begging for some kind of acoustic album and this is the first time she gave us something like that. Angel Down is such a timeless song, amazing. Dancin' in Circles and Diamond Heart are the highlights of a record that will change the norms for pop music.

It feels raw, real and above all genuine, which is a rarity to see among pop stars as big as Lady Gaga. I think if she had released something similar to her previous work, it would have been lost in the sea of current top-40 music that's heavily dance-oriented. It's different in a good way. Surpreendentemente diferente do que se espera de Lady Gaga, com músicas na vibe dos anos 60/70 e influência country. as incriveis faixas são Jonh Wayne, Angel Down e Come To Mama.

AYO, Dancin' In Circles, Diamond Heart e Grigio girl minhas favoritas.

Gaga's fifth commercial solo effort titled 'Joanne' may be her most personal, most authentic and most inspiring yet. With help from A-list musicians such as Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker, BloodPop, Father John MIsty, Beck and Florence Welch, Gaga was able to create an unsual record for a radio pop star, with songs full of heart and soul. Highlights of the album include the opening track 'Diamond Heart,' which teases Gaga's personal life from years ago over the heaviest isntrumental in her career. The chorus is rock'n'roll heaven while never losing the catchiness of a typical Gaga hook. Another high point from the album is the title track, which serves not overly emotional lyrics about Gaga's aunt who passed year ago. The simple folky instrumental is accompanied with Gaga's strong vocals and the chorus while being very simple is one of the best on the album. Another songs worth mentioning are the country-inspired 'Sinner's Prayer' and 'Grigio Girls,' which definitely belong to 'The Best' part of Gaga's discography. Overall 'Joanne' is probably Gaga's best record to date (maybe behind the pop masterpiece The Fame Monster) and everyone, not just Gaga's fanbase, shoud give it a listen. Expand

Expand

Another great and consistent record by Lady Gaga. After the underrated EDM-pop heaven ARTPOP, Gaga took a break to reinvent her sound once again and came out with one of the most interesting pop albums of the year. This album has proved to those non believers who didn’t know that Gaga is constantly shifting as an artist. The one thing you can always count on with Lady Gaga, as we’ve always done, is thinking out of the box. She’s never typical with the type of music that she releases with every album. Every album sounds different, has a different message, a different look, which is why Gaga will always be the most truthful, most artistic and most honest musician today.

A lot of people, well, a lot of those on Twitter (other fanbases) will say that because she isn’t constantly hitting the #1 spot, or she isn;t outselling the last record that “no one’s interested in her anymore” and in all honesty, it’s the biggest load of **** ever. People still talk about Lady Gaga, people still love to listen to her music. Just because she isn’t releasing generic dance recycled trash once every month doesn’t mean she’s not relevant. In fact, if anything it makes her one of the most relevant artists is the industry and that’s why she will always be remembered. Not just for the costumes, not just for the music, not just for what she stands for, but for her legacy. How she never changed for anyone. She hasn’t been let into this industry where artists don’t have a lot of say in what they’re performing or releasing. She does what she believes in, and that’s why she works with the icons. That’s why she is, an icon. This album proves it.

In terms of the album, the album is just fantastic. Of course it is. It’s a complete game changer, not only her her and the fans, but also for other artists. The country influence has really worked with this album, and again, Lady Gaga has managed to release an A+ album with some remarkable songs. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it’d done.

Gaga is a phenomenal talent, and she puts it in good use on Joanne. Her vocals are better than ever, the composition of the songs, the hybrid of genres and styles are better than ever.
Is Joanne worth my money? It definitely is. Is it a smash Pop record? I do not know, but then again, what IS Pop? Gaga once rewrote the genre, she most definitely is entitled to either breakaway from it, or transform it once again.

Hands down Gaga's best record to date in my personal opinion. Everyone's is different.

Though Joanne still has glam and is here to party, we hear a more genuine, rootsy live instrumentation with soul punching lyrics. With themes of female empowerment, kindness, loss, pain, politics, family, lust, sex, etc; Some songs stronger than others, but still somehow Gaga' strongest.
Gaga cries "Girl, where do you think your going?" over and over as she grieves the loss of a woman whom she never met but still felt extremely connected with n the album's title track. What could be Gaga's most stripped back and unplugged moment yet. It's something of a rarity in the pop world for an album to go as deep as Joanne. But with Gaga, it was sure to come.
In the depth of this album, I sensed strong David Bowie and Elton John influences as well as Gaga's essential Springsteen-esque sound in songs like "Diamond Heart" and "Angel Down." To commemorate this style Gaga sought collaborations from alternative/indie royalty Kevin Parker, Josh Homme, Father John Misty and the divine Florence Welch.; Jazz musician, Brian Newman; As well as the soulful, doo-wop addition of the Gaga's main co-producer, the legendary Mark Ronson. This album to me, was the highlight of 2016. An album that set a new standard in the pop world that artists like Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles followed through with stylistically in 2017.
Joanne is the album I've been waiting for from a pop artist. Deep down though, I knew only Gaga could pull it off in a way that could speak to me. For I'm not one for modern pop music. However, with this album, it feels almost as if you're going through a time machine with all of it's diverse and soulful energy. A time machine you can visit over and over again, loving and more and more with each listen.

Gaga's most concise record which she has ever made (However I'm a huge fan of ARTPOP). You can tell she was going to the rough rock, country, stripped down music. It pays off with highlights like Dancin' in Circles, Perfect Illusion, John Wayne and Come to Mama. It's nice to see that she isn't doing what everyone else is doing. Change is good for artists.

This album is about healing and turning negative feelings into positive ones. She's going to be remembered for always switching it up and never catering to the radio or music machine.

Anyone who says they miss 'the old Gaga' doesn't realize that this IS the old Gaga. Bonus track 'Just Another Day' sounds exactly like the material she recorded from 2006-2008. She's not a one trick pony.

Don't box her in. If you want disco/electronic Gaga—go listen to one of the past FOUR albums. She's done plenty of that. And I still love it. But allow her to grow and realize this really IS her. This album is still full of her absurdities and quirks. It's just more understated and blended through out.

Gaga will be around for a long time and will always 'take you there'. People need to admit that not many contemporaries can switch it up as effortlessly as her. She's a musician who truly knows songwriting and can play instruments, produce, and perform incredibly well live.

If this album doesn't prove to naysayers she's talented, I don't think anything will. Some people will always find something to hate on. But hating on Gaga is so tiresome and uninteresting at this point.

The bigger the star, the bigger the target.

Album standouts: Diamond Heart, John Wayne, Dancin' In Circles, Sinner's Prayer, Angel Down, Hey Girl.

Unfortunately, therein lies the biggest problem with Joanne: for every time that Gaga seemingly breaks free of her shackles and embraces something more “real,” she quickly scuttles back into her comfort zone and hides behind glistening production. This probably isn’t quite the sound of the real Stefani Germanotta, but if you squint hard enough there’s a semblance of a real person in amongst the pop haze.
