Even if the new album of Dua Lipa is very average and her Pop doesn't propose something new, what she achieves along with 11 producers is to expand the concept of Disco, Retro-Dance with futuristic sounds and bring it back 40 years after. The advantage that can be found in "Future Nostalgia" is that 80's memory well adapted to the actual Pop demand and easily inspires its fanatics to dance and sing about love and heartbreaks with some empowerment. Dua Lipa's voice is well mixed with the production and that's thanks to producers Ian Kirkpatrick, Stuart Price, the great SG Lewis, watt, and The Monsters & Strangerz. In general, even if this is nothing spectacular, what Dua Lipa does right in her new album is to join that that must not be lost of the 80s essence with the quality of actual music.

Where I stopped enjoying this track list quite so much was in the final two songs where, on top of off-putting lyrics, I found the song structures to be mind-numbing. Also, it's nit-picky, but listening back to the title track on this thing, the Squidward-esque "fuuuturre" whispering came off kind of annoying. Otherwise I love that track.

Those gripes aside, I really love the rest of this album, the singles being particular highlights.

This album genuinely does not have a single bad track, every track features Dua's excellent songwriting, immaculate production, and top tier vocals! I was not a big fan of Dua Lipa before this album. While I liked her debut self titled album, it kinda left me wanting more, it almost felt like Dua wasn't utilizing her talents as well as she clearly can (which this album shows in a much better light). I had no plans of listening to this album on the first day of release, but after I saw the huge critical and musicophile acclaim the album was getting, I decided to check it out. And if you still couldn't tell by this point in the review, I absolutely adore this album. I am genuinely so damn happy to see this trend of mainstream pop musicians maturing and releasing their greatest bodies of work (Dua, Halsey, Ariana, Lana, Charli XCX, etc). This album is just another amazing body of work being added to pop music in the 21st century, and I couldn't be happier to witness it firsthand. In conclusion, this album is WORTH THE HYPE!!! One of the best albums and the top 3 pop albums of past 10 years. Fantastic production , timeless songs and a very unique grainy yet smooth amalgam of Dua Lipa's voice. This album is a treat. It's timeless. Just almost like the TPAB of pop right now . So unique, yet groovy and danceable. Fantastic.
My new favourite pop artist. This doesn't seem like an ephemeral choice. Worth the time

Dua Lipa's voice doesn't sound special at all for me but she managed to put together her masterpiece. The disco influence and the instrumental make this album probably the best one of 2020 so far. It could be way better if you just cut out Good In Bed, though.

Future Nostalgia lives up to its name. Dua is able to entice the listener with a retro sound that makes the listener nostalgic of music from the 80s and 70s while also encompassing a futuristic vision of what music should sound like in the future. The album is a standout from those released this year and a front-runner for album of the year

Future Nostalgia is now one of my all time favorite albums. I'm glad that there are only eleven songs because all of them are perfect. There is not a single track that feels out of place. There isn't a single skip either. The production is rich, the vocals evolved a lot from her debut. The singles were wisely chose. They are all tracks with mature lyrics. Even the cover is great. ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2020! Future Nostalgia is a pop perfection with a genre of 80-90s disco pop with highly influenced by madonna & kylie minogue. The album will make you can't stop jamming to it. Dua Lipa always serve a best quality pop music & her discography will never aged. Dua Lipa is truly a 'main pop girl' material.

Dua Lipa, "Future Nostalgia" - Warner Records 2020

Il "Ritorno al futuro" di Dua Lipa. Parte 1
Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (39 min.), Pet sound (36 min.), Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols (38:50), Are You Experienced (40 min.); con i suoi 37 min. e 17 sec.

It’s a mix of so many signature sounds from other artists such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, S Club 7, Lilly Allen, Michael Jackson... in every comment on YouTube people say “it reminds me of Rihanna shut up and drive” or “it reminds me of Madonna” I mean... yes it does!! it reminds of everyone but the actual artist that’s releasing the record!! At first I loved the cover, she looks stunning on it and seems really original but then even that is a copy from Madonna 1994 Versace campaign!! The artwork for physical is also copied from Madonna! I mean how come isn’t this out there?? And then this is being branded as some pop bible?? It’s like a CD cover of a bunch of songs. I understand she wouldn’t want to copy New Rules but at least that song/sound is hers!! And not some blatant copy of everything else. Such an obsession to become the next Madonna that there’s no originality whatsoever. And this comes from someone that loved her first album, a lot more authentic in my opinion. It’s mind blowing this is being praised this way and not actually criticized for how much she’s copying everyone else. Expand

Make no mistake, her risks are still very within the context of a 4/4 pop structure, but she still finds such color and joy in her surroundings it's hard not to get swept up in her energy. Such risk-staking, however, can still lead to a few moments that could've used a bit more polish.
