    Jumping into this album, I had pretty high expectations, I mean— it’s Dua Lipa, she could slap the most mediocre pop beats on a song and still make it so enticingly addicting. ‘Future Nostalgia’, the sophomore album of Lipa’s career, shows more than just artistic growth, it shows growth in the Pop Music genre as a whole. Not a lot of artists can master the ‘nostalgic 80s’ sound; TaylorJumping into this album, I had pretty high expectations, I mean— it’s Dua Lipa, she could slap the most mediocre pop beats on a song and still make it so enticingly addicting. ‘Future Nostalgia’, the sophomore album of Lipa’s career, shows more than just artistic growth, it shows growth in the Pop Music genre as a whole. Not a lot of artists can master the ‘nostalgic 80s’ sound; Taylor Swift failed to do so with her 2014 LP “1989”, using synth to self-proclaim her album as “80s inspired”. ‘Future Nostalgia’ is so perfectly crafted and loquaciously detailed that you forget that it’s just a pop album. This album is disgustingly good, and in the best way possible. Even the weakest tracks, ‘Good In Bed’ & ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ both still have the quintessential throwback sound that’s not too cheesy and not too serious. This album could very well be ‘pop perfection’. The highlights of this album are ‘Don’t Start Now’, ‘Love Again’, ‘Levitating’, ‘Break My Heart’, and ‘Hallucinate’, which are all powerhouse ethereal disco/dance & funk records that showcases how grossly intelligent Dua Lipa & her producers really are, pulling some deep samples onto ‘Love Again’, making it almost too unnoticeable, yet doesn’t try to hide it. I could say this is the best pop album of all time, but that would be giving Ms. Lipa too much credit (although she very well damn deserves it) — this album probably just saved pop music as a whole, and definitely revived what is (in my opinion) — ‘The Disco Renaissance of the 2020s. If I could rate this any higher than a 10, I would do it in an instant — I mean, how can you not get up and just move some joints to this perfectly crafted record. Dua Lipa has completely solidified herself as this decade’s new pop force— and not a Katy Perry pop force, a pop force the general public has not seen since the likes of Donna Summers, Madonna, and Kylie Minogue.     Desde himnos bailables y llenos de energía, como lo son "Don't Start Now" y "Physical", hasta canciones con una atmósfera más relajada y sofisticada, "Pretty Please" y "Boys Will Be Boys", el álbum está lleno de joyas musicales que seguramente se convertirán en clásicos.

    Future Nostalgia llega a desmentir el mito de que las segundas partes no son tan buenas como las primeras, de hecho logra superar por mucho a su predecesor trabajo "Dua Lipa" al grado de que podría considerarse como un proyecto demasiado ostentoso y pretensioso. Sin embargo, la británica opta por desafiar sus propios límites y explotar al máximo su creatividad como artista para mostrarnos una nueva faceta de ella, la de popstar.

    This album is perfection. My favorite album of 2020. There's not a single song in this album that I dislike. Dua successfully brought the nostalgic vibes in her pop-electric album. Pure perfection.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was just a great pop album. I liked Dua but i did not think her debut was good, apart from a few catchy singles. This album is much more cohesive and consistent and it borrows from the same era of dance pop and synth pop. The songs are well written and the choruses and hooks are just so good. Most of the songs are about love in various forms or situations. The opener , Future Nostalgia is a nice pop song about a female alpha, a feminist banger it is. Don't Start Now is my favorite song by Dua ,a disco jam which is also really empowering.I think the bridge on this one is so good, just makes me wanna dance. Cool has a really nice bass and some R&B feeling to it as well. The chorus is larger then life. Physical, another highlight for me has an anthemic chorus and some very great production, i love the spoken lines as well. Levitating is another highlight with a giant chorus and post chorus and the bridge is so memorable. Pretty Please is also a very slick song with some nice guitars, in which she begs for attention from a new lover. Hallucinate is a disco song in which she describes how a lover is making her go crazy with love. Love Again also deals with the feeling of being in love again after a horrible heartbreak. It sounds very classical and has some violins i think. I love it ! Break My Heart also talks about the same subject matter of a new love, feeling vulnerable at the beginning of a new relationships. While i like the production and overall subject matter of Good in Bed, i don't care much for the repetitive chorus. Its a song about a couple that uses sex to fix the problems in their relationship instead of facing those problems head on. Its unique in being the only song about this issue on the album. I do like the shift in subject matter at the end with this song and also the last song, Boys will be boys. I love the moody nature of the song and balladry, the chanting chorus and the drums at the end. It deals with themes of sexism, double standards and toxic masculinity . These are very heavy themes in comparison with the rest of the album it is such a befitting ending to a great album.… Expand

    Irresponsibly high quality disco revival whirlwind. Aside from that one song (great messaging I am a thorough endorser of misandry) whose sappiness does nothing for me, what a delightful sophomore effort.

    This would be a perfect 10 and my favorite album of 2020 if it was not for "Boys Will Be Boys". Such a weird turn in the tracklist. Stars know it's okay to have the last track on the album NOT be a slow ballad, right?

    It's just rehashed pop music. It's fine, but overhyped. There's nothing groundbreaking and I don't see anybody really remembering this album and its generic pop five years from now. The lyrics are subpar and the "instrumentals" sound familiar -- not in a good way, but like I could mistake them for any other pop radio hit. Pass.

    Future Nostalgia is a great improvement from Dua Lipa's debut self-titled album. Filled with tracks impossible not to move to, this LP is sure to not disappoint.

Physical "is still the only song that is not of my attention although I understand clearly his presence in this exquisite work of true pop. "Hallucinate" has the house vibe of the Chemical Brothers. And what about "Don't Start Now"? A hymn to independence.Thank YOU, Dua Lipa.

    1. Future Nostalgia - Great sound that sticks out from the rest of the album, but not to much for it not to fit in. Very strong album opener and the lyrics are amazing! 8/10 2.     8. Love Again - I dont know why, but at my first listen I hated this song, but now... this song is probobly my fave from the album. The lyrics, the beautiful strings and everything about this song is amazing. I love it so much!! The sample in the song gives it a nostalgic touth. AN UNDERRATED BOP!

    9. Break My Heart - I love this song so much! I fell in love with it already on the first listen! l love the contrast and unexpecpted breaks in the beat, her vocals and the clever lyrics. It did kinda age but not to much!

The song doesnt really fit to end the standrad version of the album and it really dont have a 70's/80's throwback vibe. A skip sadly. the song is short tho :)

I find that okay tho beacuse it's a bonus track. The vocals and production, I LOVE IT. Angéle's parts are amazing and french suits the song so good.

    Fun, smart and cohesive. Dua really had a vision for this dance album and it really worked. So glad Carly Rae Jepsen paved the way for albums like this. My favorite songs are: Physical, Cool, Hallucinate, and Pretty Please. It would be a 9, but Boys Will Be Boys is TERRIBLE.

    Ok I have listened to it several times and it is an excellent album but it does not fit the concept of this tragic year, something more melancholic and reflective is needed.
    I hope their songs can be danced in 2021 when the quarantine ends.

    Como álbum pop entendo as referências e o impacto. Dua lipa deu tudo que as crias de 90/2000 tanto queriam. Uma síntese perfeita da atualidade. Entretanto, o album soa repetitivo melodicamente e as letras não comunicam tanto sobre a cantora, dificulfando conexão.

    Best pop album ever! Every song is a banger and I hope Future Nostalgia will receive the recognition it deserves. What a successful sophomore album from Dua Lipa.

    Bringing back that retro vibe is the main thing this album had to do, and it did it flawlessly. From the beginning to the end, all songs have brilliant production, very clear and pleasant for ears, but mostly important: very 80s (and 70s, 90s and 00s as well, but 80s are what we first think of    Future Nostalgia is a role model of pop music in 2020. - going back to 80s to dance/disco pop.

    ZUZUUUU! this album is the definition of artistic growth!!!! i like her debut tho. i **** love the production, lyrics & vocalssss. she is bringing back the disco pop and i am here for it. i can’t wait for the fn side b omg!?!!?! ( i hope cherry is in the albummm) anyways i enjoyed this album a lot. Fave: Hallucinate

    Es un viaje al pasado, presente y futuro: en años luz.
    Dua Lipa trae Future Nostalgia un álbum muy divertido, sin embargo que las letras llegan a todos. La británica estuvo 2 años preparando este disco y todos lo amamos. Todo el día la escucho y no puedo parar. Realmente es un gran álbum y deben valorarlo

    little bit overrated. 7.5/10 is ok with this album of Dua. Dont know why she took to much time to push Don't Start Now instead of Levitating or Physical

    Just so many hits on this album. I don't feel any of these songs needed to be remixed for Club Future Nostalgia as they were perfection on here. Physical is one song I cannot get enough of (constant repeat!!) Overall I genuinely cannot find a song I am willing to skip! I would classify Boys Will Be Boys as a great album track - but to me all other songs are single worthy! Not sure what DuaJust so many hits on this album.     good album with bops but it sounds a little bit too repetitive. She doesn't explore something else expect generic pop song which lack of versatility.

    the lyrics on the album are so perfect, they have the potential to be a hit, but without a doubt dua lipa can't handle this, dua has a lack of vocal technique

    Album of the year, this is the best pop album in years since 1989 by Taylor Swift. I love all tracks.
    Favorites: Don’t Start Now, Physical, Cool, Levitating, Love Again and Break My Heart.
    Also the lyrics of ‘Boys will be boys’ are so powerful.

    Now this score is DESERVED. She bought disco pop back and made us feel a future nostalgia! Physical provably the best track of this year, deserved Break My Heart success.

    A nice album. I just know in 4-5 years she's gonna be one of the most influential singers of our society. Though the album was good overall, it had it's murky moments too. The lyrics weren't too good and sometimes even lazy but I hope she makes even a better record than this one.

    Make no mistake, her risks are still very within the context of a 4/4 pop structure, but she still finds such color and joy in her surroundings it's hard not to get swept up in her energy. Such risk-staking, however, can still lead to a few moments that could've used a bit more polish.
