The album is ok but she needs to stop doing mainstream because it's not for her and her voice. She might end up being one of those Max Martin-produced artists which struggles for relevance.

Straight up pop record from Ellie Goulding this time. I loved her prior albums and had my skepticism about this album after hearing the first single, "On My Mind." It wasn't "bad," but it wasn't Ellie's previous standards either. Her beginnings with Lights was admirable and she blossomed to quite the electropop artist with Halcyon, but this is just rather bland. Sad to see Ellie lump herself into the same category as Taylor Swift, but this is what happens when you put money ahead of musical quality. Nothing on here is what I would consider "bad," and honestly "Codes" is quite a fun and catchy song and easily the best song on here, but most of it is just an average pop album with average pop production and average pop lyrics: therefore an average 5 out of 10. It's just sad because Ellie was well-above average prior to Delirium. Expand

Well there is not so many things i can say about this album.I'm sure her fans will love it but i think albums like Halycon and Lights are better than Delirium. It is sugary, generic, definitely listenable for Dance Pop fans.
My fave track is "Don't Panic" the rest didn't attract me at all.

There's something truly unfortunate about Ellie Goulding's career : she always offered very interesting albums, with really unique sounds and a very fascinating atmosphere, presenting herself as one of the smartest pop artist of her generation but only received a massive success for her most uninteresting tracks ("Love Me Like You Do", "Burn").

In that sense, "Delirium" could be seen as Ellie Goulding's definitive road to success. Don't get me wrong : it's a good pop album, with very smart productions but the entire concept seems crushing Goulding's creativity. On the 16 tracks of the standard edition, only two of them offer really exciting artistry and unique vibes ("Lost & Found" and "Around U"). The rest sounds honest but very under-whelming.
From an artist like Goulding, we were expecting a major level of pop music, especially for her "big breakthrough". But in the end all we get is just a collection of "Love Me Like You Do"-s. Good production but not a thrilling material.

Ellie Goulding has lent her featherweight voice to… well, everything since her Halcyon came out in 2012; from motion picture soundtracks—The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Divergent, and, recently, Fifty Shades of Grey—to EDM heavyweights such as Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Seven Lions, Major Lazer, and Calvin Harris, again, as well as releasing the world’s most unnecessary deluxe edition,Ellie Goulding has lent her featherweight voice to… well, everything since her Halcyon came out in 2012; from motion picture soundtracks—The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Divergent, and, recently, Fifty Shades of Grey—to EDM heavyweights such as Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Seven Lions, Major Lazer, and Calvin Harris, again, as well as releasing the world’s most unnecessary deluxe edition, Halcyon Days. If you take the celebrity gossip surrounding her, her ex-beaus, and her public appearances alongside Taylor Swift and her grrrl gang, it’s no surprise the 3 years since couldn’t be any more Goulding-free if they were longer.

Her hotly anticipated third studio album, Delirium, has been described by Goulding as an experiment “to make a big pop album”, takes a tour even further into the middle of the road, hence why Max Martin, Greg Kurstin, and Ryan Tedder are producers instead of countless DJs. Besides the sweet, Swedish sounding “Lost and Found”, catchy “Codes”, or, of course, the Celine Dion-esque cheese of “Love Me Like You Do”, however, Delirium largely fails to make a similar impression, say, Taylor Swift’s 1989 or even Carly Rae Jepsen’s Emotion did in recent pop music. When her lightweight vocals aren’t being outmatched by the big-budget soundscapes surrounding her, Martin and co. aren’t capable of matching their own preceding successes—“Something In the Way You Move” either copies Selena Gomez’s “Me & the Rhythm” or Goulding’s own “Love Me Like You Do”, which second single “Army” does as well. The folktronica of her debut record and EDM of Halcyon may not be memorable in their own respect, but Delirium is Goulding’s first to not compliment her strengths to the slightest.

Expand

halcyon was sooooo good, this one is such a letdown... Intro is pretty good. Army, Heal, Paradise are really special. The rest of the album is just terrible. So disappointing

Bom!

Delirium is a album about dance beats and vocal delivery. The club friendly songs may persuade you to dance but the album is not very impressive. She just came, sang some songs, made us dance and went. Waiting for Ellie Goulding's best. "Keep On Dancin'"and "Something in the Way You Move" are wonderful tracks anyway.
Favouritr Tracks - Love Me Like You Do, Something in the Way You Move,

The album can simply listen to and allocate a couple of interesting songs. As for me ... All the songs are very similar to each other, all the chips skips the pop-funk.
After all, this album Ellie Goulding best of all it works. It can be seen that it worked well with co-workers.
I did not like the fact that the album was very long. I would put the 6-7 songs and albums have turned iconic

I did not like the fact that the album was very long. I would put the 6-7 songs and albums have turned iconic that I would like to re-listen. There is a completely different situation. You're waiting to hear the album and want nothing more to do because of her voice and this enjoyable pop music you want to sleep, or just relax.

It's only on lightweight tracks Army and Devotions that Delirium drags. [Jan 2016, p.107]

Listen to it once while you get ready to hit the town, and then dance along to it into the wee hours of the night, for Delirium is eminently qualified to get you moving.

Goulding’s sound has gained an even greater sheen and expectations have grown, and we’ll see, in the coming months, whether Delirium is the big album that Goulding is aiming for.
