Apr 13, 201796? seriously?
Yes, the artist suffered a devastating event, and the lyrics are very sad,
but that has nothing to do with actual musicianship.
and having read the reviews that rated this album 100/100, those are what they mainly talk about.
Listening to someone who has lost one's partner to cancer sing about death is sad,
but that doesn't mean that is good music. -

Aug 26, 2017I almost feel guilty giving this a 5. This is surely a heartfelt record, but it just didn't pull me in. It's unique, and sad, and can get cumbersome. Glad people like it. I don't.

Mar 27, 2017A Crow Looked At Me is an unsettling, awkward listen and it might (probably will) make you cry. It’s also a tribute to an amazing 13-year love story (the penultimate song Soria Moria encompasses Elverum’s childhood longing, how he met Castrée and their instant connection) and may turn out to be one of the strongest albums of the year.
