Romance and cinema are ideal bedfellows for all sorts of obvious reasons, but on screen, the beauty of friendship can be harder to pin down. This wise and wondrous (and wordless) animation does it better than any other film in recent memory – and in ways a six-year-old could effortlessly grasp.
Who needs humans? This is visual storytelling at its finest, a traditional animation of gentle, unshowy genius. Sometimes the very best love stories go deeper than words can say.

Sueñan los robots con ovejas eléctricas? Uno de los pocos pero notables ejemplos del cine animado de Europa, más exactamente España. La ausencia de diálogos no es un defecto sino su mejor virtud y, deja de manifiesto que, se puede hacer buen cine animado con mucha invectiva y sin grandes presupuestos. A tomar nota, gente de Disney.

Pablo Berger's film effortlessly brings a sense of universality to its story.
Robot Dreams is one of the best films of the year, animated or otherwise.
Robot Dreams is Berger’s first fling with animation, and he takes to the new artform with evident and infectious enthusiasm.
Above all else, Berger’s film delights in the kind of eccentric, incidental sights and sounds from which dreams — human, animal or android — can spring.
The use of music and sound design is very thoughtful throughout, capturing the way music by street performers makes life in the city feel like a musical all the time while the murmur of traffic and general hubbub creates its own atonal backing track.
"Robot Dreams" is a great cinematic example of how impeccably silent storytelling is when it's rightfully expressed and subtly told to hit the core of emotions in such an unexpected way.

"It's a visual buffet"
This film is beautiful in too many ways, it is a work of art in its splendor, speaking in aspects such as its soundtrack, its animation style and the peculiar way of telling the story.
It shows that words are not necessary, a picture tells a thousand words.
The only disagreement I would have is with the ending, a bit dissatisfied, which is why my rating is not perfect.
