XDefiant is a confident shooter that's far more than a Call of Duty knockoff. The Tom Clancyverse crossovers are somewhat cringey, but if Ubisoft doubles down on the great gameplay, and the weird faction warfare, we'll keep coming back for months to come.
Those tiring of Overwatch 2, Call of Duty or Counter-Strike, who want a fresh take on the format and have a penchant for Ubi franchises, have many happy hours of shooting, hiding and grinding for XP ahead.
I think this is a really good competitive multiplayer game. If you play call of duty multiplayer then it's pretty similar but I think any one should at least give it a try. Given its free. It certainly nothing special, but it can pretty fun.
Compared to other FPS games, XDefiant offers limited initial content and significant balance issues, and even its most distinctive skill designs aren't particularly innovative. As a result, after a few hours of exploring different factions, game modes and maps, players may find it hard to stay motivated to grind for characters and weapons once the novelty wears off, leaving only a sense of endless fatigue.
XDefiant will likely divide competitive shooter fans, as it did us here at Gaming Nexus. Fans of classic competitive shooters will find a lot to like in the Ubiverse shooter, even its take on hero abilities. But it may not go far enough in any direction to truly stand out in a crowded market.
XDefiant isn't a Call of Duty killer or even a close competitor. It has potential despite its many issues, but it has a long way to go before living up to it.
XDefiant is Ubisoft's failed attempt to fit into every genre. We have an outdated graphics engine and a cast of characters who add absolutely nothing to the game. The only positive aspect is that we can play multiple games before uninstalling it.
The game is fine, especially because it is free, but it does not make sense of the imbalance that weapons have. How it is possible that Rushen with a sniper. And of course, what bothers me the most is that it is not a game for people like me who simply want to enjoy in a free time since it does not have skill base matchmaking and you only find pure Tryhards
Firstly the game feels like a cheap and bad knockoff of call duty nades are actual sounds from black ops cold war,The gunplay feels relatively low mid like 4/10 Mm from two games absolutely horrible 2/10 Characters + abilities not that noticable nothing that catches eye so idk maybe 5/10 cause it's just mid af Now the weapon balancing 1/10 I'm okay with pvp balancing and all but that 9mm does 24 DMG point-blank and 20 longer range and 5.56 does stable 17 doesn't matter where, it is well ️ Maps don't feel good don't feel bad tho still kinda like recycle of some cod maps5/10 Graphics kinda okay tho it's ubi so they can make pretty game but nothing to back it up7/10Gameplay is best description it feels like combination of cod with one of the most abusable mechanics and overwatch or team fortress payload for no originality and no innovation 5/10Weapon progression and unlocks idk it's just cod recycle pretty much6/10Now comes the best part bugs(Ubisoft) things is I didn't experience too many bugs but one of the most noticable if you open chat in game at any point start mid end anytime game just crashes 2/10
Overall about 4/10
They locked out a fraction. On release. On the countlessly postponed game. I wish overkill with microtransactions were the only issue, but actually, it's a minor one. It looks like a beta. And feels like an alpha.
SummaryXDefiant is a free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter that combines intense gunplay with personalized loadouts and specialized factions, as teams of gunfighters battle for domination.
