Though firmly in the Lucas tradition, this is also a Disney cartoon, for a Disney crowd and a Disney corporation--watching, you can almost feel the plastic and the plush--and whatever the characters are up to, however cute or sentimental the business, it is smartly designed and cinematically staged, and not hard to enjoy.
This is as close to perfect as Star Wars gets. Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, Carrie Beck, and other creatives fulfilled the impossible task of remixing the genetics of George Lucas's original trilogy. Along the way, Rebels crafts a story with the scope of Tolkien, the warmth of Miyazaki, and the depth of Kurosawa. The show is filled to the brim with humanistic characters, and it grapples with concepts like morality, loss, and responsibility in a way that kids will enjoy and parents will admire. If you can get through the show's more lighthearted early episodes and all the way to the thrilling end, you will not regret the experience.
It’s a better-than-average, serious-minded science-fiction cartoon, with well-executed space chases and battles but also an introspection more reminiscent of Japanese anime than of the usual American children’s animation.
A very interesting series, which goes improving every season (and even with every chapter). A excellent succesor of The Clone Wars. Dave Filoni has made it again.
Rebels is a show with a lot of ideas that are typically shoved into the same predictable formula. It's cast, while certainly flawed, is, for the most part, likable, and a lot of the additions to the Star Wars universe introduced here are certainly welcome. However, the caveat to this is the show's tone and relative simplicity. Whiplash is certainly prevalent here. One second, you'll have an "edge of your seat" scene with Maul fighting the inquisitors, and the next those same Jedi-Hunters will use their buzz-saw lightsabers to fly away like a helicopter. Many of the show's deeper ideas are also fairly underwhelming, which is disappointing, considering how it's predecessor nailed this aspect. Overall, not too bad.
terrible, the show is just terrible. the characters are bad and i wish they knew if it was a kid show or a show for clone wars fans. its not a 0 because of the clone wars characters plus vader
Hera and Kanan are the only good characters of the team, all the rest are trash. This is bad kiddy show garbage. Not saying kid shows are bad, but this is one of those shows that is made for kids that have mental problems that like garbage like this, not intelligent kids.
It's a boring not inspired repetitive piece of filth that adds old Clone Wars characters so you get interested to watch it. But 90% of the time the episodes are boring as hell till you get to the exciting 5 minutes that are ruined because you have all this new terrible characters filling up space.
The villains are weak as hell, they are bad because plot, not explanation on what happened to them or who they're. All new characters are a waste except for the 2 mentioned above and Kallus. The Animation is bad, the models are bad, you can tell this show is very low budget. The fights are not good, the camera angles are terrible.
This series getting 7.4 user score is a demonstration on why democracy doesn't works. Lame ass losers that like this show should be put in jail. They are the reason we'll continue to get trash like Star Wars Clone Wars Season 7. What a joke of a season, what happened with old Clone Wars? That was dope, this new **** it ****.
