To paraphrase La'an’s songs in this episode, SNW is “flying blind” and in doing so breaks the paradigm of traditional Star Trek. This episode epitomizes that paradigm shift all too well. As a fan of Star Trek new and old, let it be said that some of us traditional fans are open-minded enough to embrace this new presentation, and I believe are thus rewarded for doing so with a fresh new look at the series.

sincerely brought me joy. it was fun to see the writers getting their kicks and being boisterous... but then it was actually a real thing. the fun they were having was serious business! what a ride!

A fun episode in a show that does not take itself too seriously. Dragged a touch at times but a unique twist on a classic Star Trek plot line

Not as bad as S2:E7 Those Old Scientists, but it's not Star Trek. I quickly gave up and fast forwarded through the rest of the episode, reducing the pain and waste of my time. It's a pity, because the first half of season 2 was pretty darn good.
