It’s truly a fascinating listen and shows Maus on the cusp of confidently venturing into unknown territory. Even if he isn’t fully there yet, Maus is able to generate enough to show that it’s within his reach.

Maus has made more profound and mysterious records, but never one that has taken this much delight in its own ridiculousness.

The record slips easily into a catalogue that is consistent with the familiar John Maus aesthetic, which will no doubt satiate a voracious fan’s appetite for music that exists outside of time, always and at once. [Jun 2018, p.62]

Simultaneously stupid and very smart. [Jul 2018, p.30]

Addendum remains a strange and occasionally frustrating album, even for an artist as doggedly individualistic as Maus.
