Tomb Raider I-III Remastered enables long time fans to relive the golden days of the franchise with a gorgeous new coat of paint without compromising the player's nostalgia. However, gameplay mechanics have been deliberately kept as they were back then, which might push away potential new players who aren't familiar with the original games. Master the controls, and you are guaranteed to have a great time.
Aspyr has done an excellent job preserving three of the most important, and timeless, examples of early 3D gaming. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered may largely be a greatest hits set for existing fans, but it’s a comprehensive bundle whose new visuals and updated control schemes are nice options to introduce the original series to the uninitiated.

The three original (and best) Tomb Raider games in one package, and you can choose between the old and new graphics, and now you can safe your game progress at any time in the game, and on top of that you get the expansion games too! Just brilliant, the developer team did a great job with this remaster! 10/10

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is the collection you always wanted to see: maximum adherence and respect for the original work, the exact same gameplay from 28 years ago but a graphic design that enriches the experience with good taste, without overdoing it.
Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Starring Lara Croft is a lovingly crafted compilation which may set a new standard for PS1 re-releases moving forward. Based on the original source code, this trilogy flawlessly reframes three iconic PS1 puzzle platformers as you remember them – warts and all. While you will need patience to navigate this trilogy of globe-trotting escapades, the upgraded art style sticks closely to Core Design’s intended vision and it’s a genuine pleasure to experience these 90s classics on all-new hardware. It’s comprehensive, too, with each game’s expansion pack included – and an enormous list of Trophies to unlock.

As nostalgic as Tomb Raider I–III Remastered might be for some fans, the fact is that the outdated gameplay mechanisms have no appeal to modern-day gamers, no matter how polished and good-looking the final product is.
Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft takes a franchise that was flawed even in the 90s and does nothing interesting to update it. The new graphics are nice when they aren’t ruining the atmosphere of certain areas, but the modern controls somehow make these games a worse experience. There are plenty of great adventures out there starring Lara Croft. Her last trilogy was excellent, and even the 360-era titles, starting with Tomb Raider Legend, largely hold up. These original releases, though, have simply been eclipsed by far too many games at this point and are only really worth returning to if your nostalgia demands one more trip into these tombs.
Every review you see that gives this a negative review due to controls is made by a Millenial or Gen Z that cannot appreciate the games that were created before they were even a blink in the eye of existence. I am appalled and embarrassed for some of their comments. Their inexperience shows. I will tell you as Gen X hardcore gamer...this game was life back in the day. This was the RPG QUEEN of all games. Lara was the OG of main characters and nobody can come **** played this game until WE FIGURED IT OUT. Games back in OUR day took BRAINS and logical thinking with unending trial and error. Aspyr did an INCREDIBLE job with revamping the graphics which was what this always was marketed to be. The kids out here saying the controls are clunky and antiquated are only saying that due to lack of experience and skill. We didn't have the internet to cheat back then, nor the platform to complain and whine because we didn't understand how to figure things out. I am in awe of this game. I am GRATEFUL that they did not change A THING other than graphics. I thank the heavens that it is taking me back in time to when I was in awe of the technology of the original Playstation that these kids cannot even fathom. Ignore all of the posts that say anything negative about this....those people are simply not used to playing a game like this. They do not understand the controls or how the game works. It is not their fault they are just ignorant of the joy this game brought to literally MILLIONS. I will always love Lara and Aspyr NAILED it with this. I adore the remaster and it is ON POINT! Great job to all that were involved and I can tell you that I have enjoyed every moment playing this all over again and frequently switch back and forth between graphics of old and new. I absolutely LOVE it!. Great job and I hope to see more from them in the future. God Bless and GAME ON RAIDERS!!!

I want to give it higher because you can see they have done a brilliant job at remastering it. However I can’t due to the controls. Tank mode feels worse than it did in the originals and the new controls don’t work in the sense you can’t actually backflip properly and do the required moves to complete some levels. Such as climbing a wall to do a flip spin and grab isn’t achievable

It´s been a while since I played the classic trilogy. Seeing this incarnation of Lara Croft after all this years was really entertaining - but only to a certain point. Even the best efforts in remastering these games cannot hide their original age, no matter if gameplay-wise or visually. Resulting in what we ultimately got, there´s so much more left to be desired and in case of the clunky modernized controls also something very new to despise.
