As baseball games go, MLB: The Show 24 is the only team on the field to choose from but handles its license wonderfully well. No doubt long time players will have their gripes with some of the minor changes here or there, that’s a given when yearly titles constantly attempt to evolve, but if you’re like me and want to experience a baseball game for the first time, this is a no-brainer choice. It’s also reflective of what sports titles should be aiming for; a game that isn’t throwing the microtransactions at you in every menu and that treats the history of the sport with respect while sharing it to a larger audience. There’s still space to evolve further, and there will always be another yearly cycle, but the San Diego Studio team are putting in the work and that should be applauded.
MLB The Show 24 is a wonderfully curated sports sim that has made some great improvements to the defensive game. The Storylines are great fun, and Road to the Show is another great way to experience the ball game.

MLB The Show 24 could almost be called 23 ½. The new features are more quantitative than qualitative, with a gameplay that follows the path of the last edition without the slightest deviation. What changes are mainly the contents, among which the excellent second season dedicated to the Negro League and the section starring Derek Jeter stand out. Little to report on Road To The Show, Franchise and Diamond Dynasty, which remain at fair/good levels without the addition of extra details that have a considerable impact on the gaming experience. No particular flaw in the graphics/sounds, which however would require some global cleaning and modernization, with particular attention to the player models.
MLB The Show 24 continues to swing for the fences as the best representation of the sport in video game form, and save for a few misses, it always delivers. The outstanding gameplay is enhanced with an elevated presentation in all of the modes, and the storytelling in Storylines is a big draw for those wanting to embrace the game's roots and pay homage to the legends from yesteryear. While Diamond Dynasty can be an acquired taste, and the inclusion of Derek Jeter may not appeal to all, these missteps hardly take the shine of the gem that is MLB The Show 24, and it's time to play ball.
MLB The Show 24 is one of the strongest entries SDS has put out in this console generation. Storylines and Road To The Show's updates rejuvenate the franchise's single-player offerings, giving players a reason to come back each day and get a few swings in. Diamond Dynasty's changes are also a step in the right direction, though it will take time to see if SDS' new format works in the long run. While The Show is well overdue for a more substantial facelift, its rewarding gameplay makes that shortcoming an afterthought. When all's said and done, MLB The Show 24 is undoubtedly one of the series' best, and a great sign for the future.
The continued absence of an online Franchise mode and the stale nature of Road to the Show are disappointing aspects of this release, but MLB The Show 24 still maintains the series' commendable output with fantastic gameplay and another collection of fascinating stories exploring The Negro Leagues and its players. A journey through the exalted career of Derek Jeter might not be quite as gripping, but it builds on Storyline's established framework and lays down an exciting blueprint for the mode's future. The addition of women in Road to the Show is another positive step, further reinforcing the overarching theme that baseball is for everyone, while the ability to customize how you play Franchise mode makes it a much more palatable proposition for those embarking on a 162-game season. MLB The Show 24 might not swing for the fences, but it's still a great way to spend the looming summer months.
MLB The Show 24 is a very familiar experience, but with the sensational Storylines mode, improvements to the animations and the refinement of some modes, it manages to become a better game than the previous ones from which it's based.
Game is great, as it is every ****’t listen to the negative reviews, they are all just sad people with nothing better to do with their lives.

This game does a good job showing how hard it is to hit off of a professional pitcher. Although i have never done so myself, it seems realistic.

Unlike Madden and NBA2K which seem to persistently favorize visually realistic games over actual sport realism and became pretty much unplayable , The Show is the perfect example of "Sacrifice graphics for good gameplay".
The biggest con AND the biggest pro is that it's actually about 99% the same game that The Show 23.
First reaction, after exploring the different modes, was obviously "well it's just the same game zzzz" but after two dozen of hours played, my reaction was actually "Thank God it's the same game".
They could've at least introduce one new mode or change one but I guess you dont modify something that's working.

In a world of reskinned sports games, this game is no different. I only give it a 4 and not a 0 as I enjoy some aspects and Xbox is nice enough to let me play without spending a dime. Not only is it a reskin, but a downgraded one at that. It feels empty compared to 23. Less customization, less detail, less fun songs to have for homers and walk-ons. The cutscenes look like something out of an early 2000s demo tape for a sports safety video. Do not play this if you don't have to. Play Super Mega Baseball instead.

If it wasn’t for Gamepass I wouldn’t play this game.I’ve playing sinceThe Show 17 and not much has changed. I will not be spending another dime until some major changes are made.
