Sep 16, 2015Turkey is erratic, disjointed and full of loose garage swagger--in other words, classic Krol.
-
Aug 26, 2015Production and keys aside, Turkey isn't much of a departure for Krol, but it may finally get him the recognition he deserves on the higher-profile Merge Records.
-
Sep 4, 2015If Turkey just misses greatness, it's because it's just too short. The whole thing is over in 18 minutes.
-
UncutAug 26, 2015Turkey is less throwaway than its scrappy, Bandcamp-released predecessors. [Oct 2015, p.78]
-
Aug 26, 2015Through its short running time Krol doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before, but that's really OK. He's got energy to spare, some really good songs, and a snide, slightly wounded voice of his own. Add in how well the quick-and-dirty production style suits the songs and Turkey ends up being a fine introduction to Krol and his sound.
-
MojoAug 26, 2015A solid collection of angst anthems. [Oct 2015, p.98]
-
Aug 27, 2015Krol is hardly a rock’n’roll virtuoso, but he knows how to make carefree music to make you bounce. Sometimes that’s enough.
