    Sem duvidas um dos melhores álbuns do ano, Grande passeia pela música com a sua voz e explora novos ritmos, combina sua potência vocal com melodias harmônicas e cresce musicalmente deixando pra trás todas as canções "bubllegum pop". É com certeza um álbum muito maduro que será visto nas premiações e no Grammy.

    Ariana just released one of her best albums. She has experimented a lot with new artists like Missy Elliot and the album is 75% produced by Pharrel Williams who has a strange sound but good. Ariana serves vocals in some songs but also has a sweet voice in other ones , good combination. She keeps her pop sound but also mixes new sounds which is amazing! It's very worthy to listen.

    Sem dúvida alguma, esse é um dos melhores álbuns da carreira da cantora Ariana Grande, expressa muito bem o lado espiritual da cantora, e ainda mais, não é aquele álbum farofa tradicional igual aos outros, e sim, e um álbum bem diferente de qualquer outro que tenha sido lançado nesse ano!

    The best album of the year, Ariana put R&B songs with pleasure. Sweetener is her most confident album. Song how Breathin, show how Ariana is the best artist of 2000’s era. This is the album that we needed in a long time. Congrats Ariana ♡

    The album shows her music growth. Ariana is finally finding herself through this music and has made her most personal record. If she continues like that it is for sure that she will find "her" sound. It is a pretty cohesive album and i dare to say, maybe her best album to date.

    The album is not all bad, but wanted to wish. Most of the songs have similar sonority, until they seem to connect and the beginning of some pair Christmas music. Ariana risked a lot by working with Pharrell. I understand that this album is more in the RnB footprint, but it could be more complex. LMLY's RnB in Dangerous Woman was perfect.     I didn't felt it as a good or bad album, it's just something neutral. It has a couple of big hits and a couple of meaningful songs, but it's mostly full of forgettable songs. Also, I didn't felt it as Ariana's style, this was more Pharrell's style.

    The album is very well produced and her voice sounds great, but it stays there does not give us anything and in my opinion a ballad is missing, therefore the album feels half-hearted.

En ese sentido, ‘Sweetener’ ha llegado al mundo con mal pie: las primeras reseñas y reacciones del público general están siendo relativamente negativas, con la palabraHoy, cuando la paciencia y el interés son bienes virtuales escasísimos para el mundo de la cultura y la satisfacción debe ser tirando a inmediata, las primeras impresiones –a menudo las más certeras– suelen ser cruciales. En ese sentido, ‘Sweetener’ ha llegado al mundo con mal pie: las primeras reseñas y reacciones del público general están siendo relativamente negativas, con la palabra “decepción” a modo de mantra. Y la culpa, en este caso, la podría tener las altísimas expectativas despertadas por dos singles sobresalientes como ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ y ‘God Is A Woman’, de largo las dos mejores canciones del cuarto largo de Ariana Grande.

    ¿Hizo bien Ariana en presentar el álbum con la crema? Sí, sin duda: en no pocas ocasiones hemos visto cómo una mala elección en los primeros indicios de un disco pop pueden hacer que el público dé la espalda a obras que, a posteriori, se han revelado mejores de lo que anticipaban. Sin embargo, el “mal” que aquellas dos canciones han hecho a ‘Sweetener’ es que no eran representativas de su sonido. Porque, en realidad, Max Martin y sus estrechos colaboradores Ilya Salmanzadeh y Savan Kotecha, productores y co-autores de aquellas, apenas están presentes en dos canciones más, que, a todas luces, conforman lo mejor del largo: el sensual –amargo en lo lírico– mediotiempo trap-pop ‘Everytime’, y ‘Breathin’, un banger al estilo ‘Into You’ –un clip a la altura y quizá un buen remix, podrían hacer de ella un hit– en el que Grande envía un mensaje bonito y positivo sobre superar la ansiedad.

    El resto del disco, con excepción de un par de concesiones al equipo de TBHits –capaz de cosas tan monas como ‘Better Off’, y también tan prescindibles como ‘Goodnight N Go’ –que no es ni la mitad de chula que el original de Imogen Heap– o la bromilla ‘Pete Davidson’–, se caracteriza casi al completo por contar con el traicionero “sello Pharrell”, convertido en el Timbaland de esta era: su sonido es tan reconocible como predecible, confundiendo el minimalismo con la cutrez y lo rácano. Williams consigue que la vocalmente sobrenatural Ariana resulte no ya inane –como en ’Get Well Soon’– sino también irritante, como en ’Blazed’, ‘The Light Is Coming’ –curioso cómo, al contrario que ‘Bed‘, se ha hecho pequeña con los días, quedando en nadería en esta secuencia– o ‘Borderline’. Curiosamente, estas tres coinciden en ser los tres únicos featurings de ‘Sweetener’: el primero, con la innecesaria intervención del productor, y las otras con dos raperas como Nicki Minaj y Missy Elliott, que generalmente dan lustre y magnetismo a lo que tocan y en este caso suenan impersonales y marciales, como meras funcionarias del rap.

    Sin embargo, agrupar todo lo que ha tocado Pharrell en ‘Sweetener’ bajo esa visión sería simplista: las escuchas hacen que brille ostensiblemente una “clase media” de canciones como ‘R.E.M.’ –aparentemente dedicada a su actual pareja, el ya citado Davidson, con explícitos “tú sabes como comerlo”–, ‘Sweetener’ –con un estribillo que, de nuevo, parece aludir simpáticamente al sexo oral femenino–, o la juguetona ‘Succesful’ –un aparente autohomenaje a la par que un himno de sororidad–, en las que el tratamiento feo/bonito, dulce/salado, cándido/picante que Williams aplica al pop R&B de la cantante resulta tremendamente adictivo. Es en estas donde este tándem cobra sentido, y revela una faceta versátil de Grande, capaz de equilibrar gorgoritos y swag, que la aproxima a eso que tan buenos réditos da a Bruno Mars, por ejemplo.

    Ese trío, a la postre, hace que la balanza se incline hacia el lado positivo y que ‘Sweetener’, aunque no llegue a superar el que es, hasta hoy, el mejor disco de Grande, ‘Dangerous Woman’, sea un más que aceptable paso hacia la consolidación de su talento. Si los fans y la industria resisten esas prisas inherentes a esta época, parece indudable que Ariana Grande llegará a publicar discos a la altura de su inconmensurable talento.    … Expand

    Another album of Ariana singing about how spoiled, loved and successful she is, and I think is great because she is, but this was such an opportunity to make an statemet before everything that happened. Almost all of the songs are fillers to me. Sweetener just felt flat. GIAW, NTLTC, Goodnight n Go my favs.

    Sweetener, Ariana Grande's 4th studio album, is a very nicely collated album with songs like God Is A Woman, No Tears Left To Cry, and Breathin' that makes not only her fans but also the general public to listen. However, the album is generally, for me, not vibrant and colorful like her previous albums. However, the album is generally, for me, not vibrant and colorful like her previous albums. Ariana Grande is entitled the Princess of Pop but her album didn't include much pure pop records. Most songs in the album generally sound the same to the ears of a person who hasn't listened to the album thoroughly thus generally discouraging them to listen to the album. Simply put, the album lacks bops and catchy songs. I suggest she never collabs with Pharell again since in my opinion, he ruins potentially good songs with his production just like The Light Is Coming. Overall, it's a pretty good album. It's not Ariana's complete fault that this wasn't her best although she definitely should have done something to make it better.… Expand

    Yeah this was a pretty huge miss. I only ended up liking 3 songs - ntlc,breathin and god is a woman. Dangerous woman was a 100x better than this even though the writing was equally weak. From this its safe to say Max Martin has lost his zing. i had a feeling this album was going to struggle considering how pathetic Taylor's album was (which was also produced by Max) . Pharrell was also notYeah this was a pretty huge miss. I only ended up liking 3 songs - ntlc,breathin and god is a woman. Dangerous woman was a 100x better than this even though the writing was equally weak. From this its safe to say Max Martin has lost his zing. i had a feeling this album was going to struggle considering how pathetic Taylor's album was (which was also produced by Max) . Pharrell was also not a good choice for a producer after he royally messed up JT's Man of the Woods. Overall its a Yikes! from me. This why more artists should learn how to self produce like Lorde, St Vincent and Jack Antonoff. Their ideas might come out clearer and they also learn a lot more in the process.… Expand

    Her biggest mistake was collaborating with Pharell Williams. The first half of the album which is produced by him is so painfully awful. It sounds more like his songs and less of Ariana's. I also cannot for the life of me find any single-worthy songs. The era should just be over, maybe release Breathin first which will flop and then move on.

    I get that she's trying different genres of music, and I'm hear for it but this isn't it lol There is no song in this album that stood out for me, production was all over the place, her vocals on point as always. lyrically it wasn't there either, I feel that some songs didn't suit her voice and it felt forced????

The songs are not catchy at all, the choruses are as basic as can get, and the production is just okay. With only 3 good songs (Breathin, No Tears Left To Cry and God Is A Woman), Ariana Grande didn't deliver at all with Sweetener. If one song summarizes how the whole album sounds, it would be 'The Light Is Coming' (and that isn't a good thing considering TLIC is one of the worst songs, if not the worst song on Ariana's 4th studio album).     No tears left to cry, god is a woman and breathin are the only traces worthy of note. The tracks produced by Pharrell are at times unlistenable and annoying. And there is also a song trashed by Beyoncé. This album is not comparable to her previous works, which instead are real pop-gems.

    I'm so dissapointed. For the most part It's just redundant, repetitive, lethargic music. I only like Breathin and Everytime from the new songs. I thought this would be her best album. So many months of hype for this. Ari honey, next time just drop the album with no promo and call it a day.

    O álbum poderia sem duvidas ser melhor, uma parte do álbum parece musicas de natal e outra parece trap, o álbum contem faixas mediana, porem faixas como sweetener, No tears left to cry e God is a Woman se destacam, no geral é um álbum mediano, nem bom nem ruim !!!

    this album insults music as well... talking about personal **** and a very very simple music. i just found breathin track acceptable but others is for kids. don't waste your time to hear such a **** album. music is dying these years, no true feelings no forte and no more master stroke anymore. just a few bands and artists that no one knows them :)

    sem dúvidas é o trabalho mais diferente da Ariana, ao contrário de seus álbuns anteriores, Sweetener explora outro lado da voz dela, literalmente algo mais "sweet". Grande com este álbum assume riscos em sua carreira ao unir-se com Pharrell Williams que vem de um vasto histórico de canções

The album has a way too similar production towards each other. Pharrell is now known to me as the worst pop producer out there. Yes, it might not be basic generic pop, but the songs are still generic. The production is boring and lacks too much to keep you interested making it sound like a collection of fillers.

So, this makes us wonder… If Ariana doesn’t show off her voice or her songwriting skills, or any other kind of artistic involvement, then what is she good for? Why is she in the Forefront of this new generation of Pop music? Is a pleasant voice enough to keep her on top of the game? Overall, Sweetener is this year’s pop most painful disappointment and the death of one of our very last hopes for Pop Music to have another Golden era.

    'Sweetener' is an album that you'd listen once just to see it it's worth your time...and when you're finished, you'll realise it's not. None of the songs (except the singles) are memorable, nothing stands out, the lyrics are often repetitive or poorly written. The production on almost every song is the same and at one point you get bored, hoping the next song is better...but it's not.     This album was a huge letdown after 2 years of waiting. It is a personal album but all the songs are boring and seem the same. I am a huge fan and knowing that the wait for another album will probably be two years makes me frustrated as the only song on the album that I liked was breathin and automatically after, I went to stream dangerous woman, her best album.     Grande’s new sound, the Williams-produced Not-Bangers, only make up half of the album. These standout tracks are interspersed between standard pop tracks. ... That’s not to say that the Bangers on Sweetener are bad--it’s more that they belong in previous era of Grande and they spoil the flow between songs. Sweetener may not be the dawning of a new age for Ariana but it could be a step towards somewhere weird and wonderful.

    Ms. Grande backs up her statements with song-and-dance mastery. ... She’s her own choir, support group and posse. While a few guest vocalists (Mr. Williams, Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott) provide a little grit for contrast, Ms. Grande sails above any fray, past or present. Her aplomb is her triumph.
