Aguayo’s productions have frequently flashed a sly sense of humor, but the mood here is driven, focused, heads-down. His drum programming is as slinky as ever, but there’s a newfound force to it; his drums could double as battering rams.

This album of skeletal club tracks might be a bit puzzling to listeners who prefer Aguayo's more song-based efforts, but it's definitely worthwhile for anyone keeping an ear to the vanguard of global club music, particularly labels like Príncipe Discos.

The brilliance in moments of these tracks doesn't add up to a fully engaging album experience, but Aguayo deserves plenty of credit for continuing to show the imagination he thought minimal lacked all those years ago.
