    Boy band style of hip hop. Light and vapid fluff style music that is meant to appeal to the largest audience. It sounds generic and nothing about this is ground breaking or interesting. But as a typical Drake album it has a few good select songs such as Nice for What, Sandra's Rose, and Emotionless. Album as a whole is worth skipping.

    This is a streaming era album, and this album is good at what it does- provide a song for every mood, and act as an entry to the two sides of Drake- the braggadocios 6 God side, and the brooding reminiscer side.

    The issue of Scorpion can really be summed up to Drake spreading himself too thin. Let's begin with the length of the album: there is a concept in film and music called "the cutting room floor," clearly Drake is not familiar with it. An artist is supposed to keep the best of the best and discard anything else, regardless of it being just "good." Not only has Drake kept the "good" but he'sThe issue of Scorpion can really be summed up to Drake spreading himself too thin. Let's begin with the length of the album: there is a concept in film and music called "the cutting room floor," clearly Drake is not familiar with it. An artist is supposed to keep the best of the best and discard anything else, regardless of it being just "good." Not only has Drake kept the "good" but he's also invited the mediocre, the poor and the absolute terrible. There is an overall redundancy that becomes increasingly tedious as you continue listening to the record; whether it be the sonic pallet or the conceptualism. The production on the album is, for the most part, vapid and prosaic. One would expect some of the best sounds coming from the most popular artist in the world today, yet Drake doesn't only play it safe but goes as far as being boring. Furthermore, the samples used throughout the album are often arbitrary and jarring; Nicki's "Boss Ass **** and Michael's addition which are the worst examples. Lastly, many of the cuts on the second disc are overly sappy and cringe-worthy. Drake needs to revisit the drawing board and figure it the **** out because Scorpion is exactly what Kanye was addressing in his song "Crack Music" off "Late Registration";

    Un album con muchas expectativas pero al ver la tracklist sabia que no iba a ir bien esto. Un doble album con un total de 25 canciones, la cara A (a mi parecer) es mejor que la cara B donde vemos un Drake mas R&B y cantante.     This album would have been a solid release by the Canadian rapper/singer, had it been half the length and twice as impactful. Its an incredibly bloated and over the top album that has no justification for its existence. It is nowhere near Drake's worst as an artist, but is also not anywhere his best efforts either. Overall a very underwelming and overhyped album from Drake that contains very few highlights that get lost in the swarm of all filler no killer mediocrity.

    Not TERRIBLE but expected more considering Drake released some good as music in the past. Overall, a mediocre, boring album with 5 or so standout tracks, overloaded with filler to inflate sales.

    I think side A is the best, but still have like 4 song that I don't gonna revisited, and side B is very bad, except for like 3 songs that sounds like R/B and nice for what is also nice

He hides his inability to flow over a beat by inserting a catchy hook on some of his tracks that go viral to mask all the other poor tracks.     A very boring style. There are only 5 tracks OF 25!!! that i loved. He doesn't rap fast so i don't love because i love fast rapping and i know that he can.

    Although the album isn't a classic, I've given it a 7 due to the strong end in the second half of the album along with I'm Upset, Sandra's rose, emotionless and Gods Plan giving you a solid album with two hook songs being 'Gods Plan' and 'In My Feelings' without the rest. I think that the majority of this album is good to listen to to just chill in your room or out with friends but the bad songs can spoil it. Think Drake went OTT with the amount of songs as he had a solid album there but just didn't stop. Heres to another Album like Take Care or Nothing was the same.

    I prefer the R&B side much more because it is a more true drake (even though it was still lackluster). For the rap side, there were a VERY small amount of tolerable songs but I still can't listen to them because he sounds so conceited.     Drake's Fifth studio album feels exactly like his forth bland generic and forgettable. Just like his previous album "Views" drake delivers an album with no lyrical depth or outstanding rap verses. Drake has conveniently made two sides to the 25 track monster of an album. Side A consists of "Old Drake" him spitting rap verses and Side B contains "New Drake" an R&B Pop fused Drake. The main problem of this album seems to be the fact that it is twenty-five tracks and an hour and a half long, exactly what made Drake's frequent collaborators "Migos" recent album terrible. Drake seems just as lyrically shallow as Views and while maybe a few tracks on this album are good it doesn't make up for the Bad.

Side B it is hard to pick any one or two out. Ratchet Happy Birthday is shockingly bad. In general, just no ambition whatsoever from Drake, a very safe album. One of the main issues with this project is the fact that it was a double album when it didn't need to be. There is so much filler on this project it's unreal. The reason people miss the old Drake is because his old albums didn't have filler, each track had a purpose and place on the record as a whole. With this new project there is a side A and side B, when it had no reason to be a double album. There are some decent songs on Scorpion, but they are all overshadowed by the rest of the album. Upon listening to the first song on the project I was somewhat hopeful that maybe it could be better than the lackluster "Views" from 2016. As soon as the second track started it immediately delved into this washed out, generic sound that permeates the entire first half of the album. The second half didn't make up for that either, as it basically just continues the same flat vibe that is established on the A side. It's sad to see an artist getting stuck in their comfort zone and subsequently continue to release what is essentially the same thing in different ways over and over again without changing the formula or trying to grow at all. This is a grossly commercial, somewhat brainless, and painstakingly long album that really doesn't have anything to offer that his older projects didn't do better. It's like Kanye's Ye, except instead of the album being too short and fairly unimpressive, it's waay too long, and fairly unimpressive. 3/10.… Expand

    I'm so relieved about this release.
    When i saw the layout of the album, and how he divided it, i was very happy, because my big problem with Views and More life, that had basically the same amount of songs, was that all the songs just seemed to be in a random order, so those 2 releases felt messy and disorganized.

    Section A alone is probably on par with "If you're reading this is too late". There's more to be desired in the production, but Drake gives us a great rhymes, with a sharp delivery. Some Rhymes are corny, it os Drake after all, but mostly there are clever and charismatic deliveries. There's just 1 song i would call unlistenable to and that's "I'm upset", but there rest just goes from good to great. 8/10

    Section B... this one was hard to listen. He was so monotone throughout this whole section. And his slow singing really brought out the repetitive and unimaginative beat selection. What he talks about is relatable, and is a positive, and a few lines are very good. Unlike the first section, where i could only pick 1 bad song, here i can only pick 2 songs i really liked, which were "Nice for what" "march 14", the rest of this section just goes from Bad to worse. 4/10

    One of the most forgetable albums ive listened to in a long time. You cant really say that any of the songs are bad, just boring. There are a few highlights like always but overall this album is way too long and id say about 17 of the songs could have just been left out. Highlights include: Sandra's Rose, March 14, Nice for What and Emotionless.

    This is an empty shell of what could've been a legendary entry in hip hop history. Scorpion was to be the one to top DAMN, giving the Crown to Drake, fail.... This album feels bloated, repetitive, lazy and craaaaaazy monotonous. The Side B with R&B is decent at most, and for Drake, that ain't close to acceptable.

    Very underwhelming! This is why it has this user score. The insane amount of hype mixed with the cash grab attempt of 25 tracks and mediocre music leads to a very mediocre attempt from Drake. The sad thing about this album is that there are so many great moments here but the entire project is flooded with terrible moments. Side A can be tossed in the trash and this would make Side B a solid 8+ at the very least and a manageable 43 minute album. WHY IS THIS PROJECT SO LONG!! Oh right, I forgot about his obsession with numbers. After years and years of wondering if Drake will ever grow as an artist or if he will continue the same old familiar sound we're used to, I think we have our answer. Summer Games might be the furthest out of his lane we will ever see him go and it's mostly just because of the production on that track. It's sad because everyone would love to see him grow like an Andre 3000, Kanye West, Gambino, etc. but he's either too afraid, doesn't have the right team around him, or he's just not creative enough. I'm Upset might be one of the worst singles of his career and possibly one of the worst singles I've ever heard from such a major artist. Drake has been on a downward trend since Views (More Life was good) and it looks like that trend may continue. I don't understand how he can make More Life a "playlist" and call such an underwhelming project like Scorpion an "album." Drake is now just a sensation because of strategic marketing because his music is not up to par with his status.     My initial thoughts right after hearing this album were “Damn, we got another Drake album huh?”. This really did feel exactly the same as his last couple albums, in the sense that, its a jumbled mess of rapping and singing. I guess If you're a big Drake fan and have liked his last couple projects you'd be into that. The reason I think it's becoming worse and worse because Drake knows he doesn't have to try very hard or get very invested in these songs in order for people to like them at this point in his career; he's right and is going to get crazy number regardless of what he puts out.

    Now, do I think Drake has a good ear and all around good sound? Yeah for the most part. In saying that, there are some songs on here I like; not many! But there are some.
    The song 'Elevate' I thought sounded good with it's spacey and slightly eerie beat. Drake's singing and rapping were fine as well.
    'Can't Take A Joke' was another song I thought was good because Drake was actually rapping on this one and I personally like rapping Drake more than singing Drake.
    'In My Feelings' stood out to me for its beat alone, very bouncy, very radio friendly but I really liked it. 'Gods Plan' is the Fortnite anthem and I bump 'Nice For What' heavy.
    Other than those songs, nothing really stood out to me at all with the exception of the Michael Jackson feature (which, as a big MJ fan, wasn't a fan of because I really don't think Michael would like this. It might be not right for me to speak on the dead like that, but that's just what I think).

    If I was going to talk about each disc for a bit. I'd say I enjoyed the first disc much more than the second, simply because I felt the second disc was more, slow R&B throwaways from older works of his, or just the same rap/sing Drake we've heard for years. At least on the first disc, I felt he was talking more about recent stuff and that just made it more interesting to me, plus he was rapping more and like I said I like rapping Drake more than singing Drake.

    Overall do I think this is bad music? No, not really. Do I think its uninspired and very mediocre all the way through? Ugh... Yeah kinda. If I was going to give it a rating /100% I'd probably give it somewhere around a 34%.    … Expand

Most of them didn't. With only about 5 tracks on this album being album-worthy of Drake's calibre, it feels like Drake threw out all the songs he had made throughout the production of the album, withoutDrake comes out with his 5th and most disappointing studio album to date... Comparing this to the hyper-condensed style that Kanye has introduced, where tracks picked for the album are exceptional, Drake does the exact opposite, throwing out a load of low-quality songs hoping that they connect with his audience.
    Only thing remotely interesting about the album was the MJ feature. There was also a Jay-Z feature, which was honestly lacklustre compared to what he has shown us on 4:44.    … Expand

    Sonically the same as More Life, no growth. Have always liked Drake and dont really care if he is a dead beat dad but all the songs on each tape sound the same, wouldnt notice if this and more life were released together as one thing

The album - admittedly a two-part affair - dragged on far too long for my liking, especially the "B" side. Drake at least beefed up the subject matter of this album a bit more than his last few, tackling deeper issues about his personal life, illegitimate child, and the omnipotentScorpion is a seemingly bottomless mixed bag of hits and misses, none of which really left a lasting impact. The album - admittedly a two-part affair - dragged on far too long for my liking, especially the "B" side. Drake at least beefed up the subject matter of this album a bit more than his last few, tackling deeper issues about his personal life, illegitimate child, and the omnipotent power of social media in this day and age.

    Even with more substance relative to his usual work, I still found the album to ring hollow. The beats were nice, and some clever wordplay and poignant bars perked me up on occasion, but finishing the album felt more like work than pleasure. I kept wanting to hear something different - something that wasn't just angst delivered in Drake's patented flow over deconstructed beats - but something different never came. It's the same Drake music, just with a deeper dive into the life of Aubrey Graham.

    "Emotionless" was, in my opinion, the best track to come out of this album. I also enjoyed "Mob Ties" and "March 14". The rest of the new music released with the album was underwhelming at best, and difficult to push through at worst.

    The die-hard fans of Drake will eat this up, and that's fine! I'd prefer to see some evolution from him as an artist, though, and aside from seemingly letting down his playboy facade by opening up about his "real" life, this album is stylistically stale and generally lyricall uninspired.    … Expand

    Drake needs no introduction. Canadian rapper and singer, lots of money, last couple of albums were mediocre, you know the drill. The circumstances around this album are far more interesting. In May, Pusha T, fresh off of his excellent, Kanye-produced DAYTONA, dropped a diss track against Drake after our subject responded to a song on DAYTONA likely about his use of ghostwriters. Pusha, byDrake needs no introduction. Canadian rapper and singer, lots of money, last couple of albums were mediocre, you know the drill. The circumstances around this album are far more interesting. In May, Pusha T, fresh off of his excellent, Kanye-produced DAYTONA, dropped a diss track against Drake after our subject responded to a song on DAYTONA likely about his use of ghostwriters. Pusha, by all accounts, destroyed Drake, accusing him of hiding a child, using ghostwriters excessively, and other traits that made Drake look very weak in comparison.

    Knowing this, his stature is permanently diminished, most obviously on this record. He can’t easily pull off the tough guy sentiment anymore, nor pretend to be a family man. His two most “virtuous” traits, his bars would have you believe. But onto the music. The record is split into two sides. Side A (hip-hop) and Side B (R&B). Firstly, the length of this album is its major weakness - 89 minutes in total. Note that there will be no track-by-track reviews this time, there’s simply too many. Instead, I’ll list off some choice cuts.

    Side A, the rap one, is best described as “boring.” Every flow sounds exactly the same, as do the choruses. The beats come off as uninspired and plain, just the same old melodies as usual. Aside from the cash-grab placement of singles, there’s nothing really worth listening to here.
    Side B, the R&B one, has a few songs that actually aren’t bad - but an equal amount of bland and mediocre ones. Again, it’s the length of the album. And there are some unequivocally bad songs on this side, notably “Ratchet Happy Birthday”, a contender for worst song I’ve heard this year. The following track and “Blue Tint” are equally dislikable. The last three songs actually have some meat on them - nothing I’d listen to on my own time, but not bad per se. But at that point it’s more of a treat for those who hadn’t left by the time they reached the end of this trash.
    This album was so amazingly piss-poor, it might be the beginning of the end for Drake. His reputation is gone, and soon so will his influence. Maybe that's a good thing.

And with each passing record, Drake is righteously quashing that hope and demonstrating that his solipsism is just solipsism, and verging on nihilism in the aggregate, or maybe that's just how I feel when I sit through 1.5 hours of it. I'm increasingly wondering what the point of Drake is, or to put it another way, youth is a good substitute for beauty--and Drake is already past 30. Self-pity and directionless self-criticism/self-aggrandizement isn't something I want to hear from a man in his thirties with all the achievements a man could ask for. That doesn't make me feel good about my life or hopeful at all, and makes me a bit resentful of Drake The Man, which makes it difficult to listen to his music. Not even the public revelations of his kid seem to have changed anything--on Emotionless he spins his hiding of his kid as legitimate protection from a sordid world, and on closer March 14 he bemoans the 'hard times' he faces as a single father.

    It occurs to me that this urge I have to see Drake change is part of his appeal. Drake's blithely confident takedowns of the women in his life juxtaposed with his caustic self-criticism smacks--and has smacked for the past decade--of a personality disorder where the ego must be constantly propped up to mask the artist's secret feelings of worthlessness. I think that this is emotionally resonant with everyone, and perhaps if Drake actually were to show some improvement--for example, singing about a healthy, secure, and loving relationship, or reflecting on a life full of blessings and love--he would lose his fanbase and his appeal. After all, the current sadboy trend in popular music can be traced back almost entirely to Drake, and with the style at its peak, it would be perhaps foolhardy to abandon it now. So perhaps this is a case of bad timing--what was revelatory 10 years ago is still relevant now, but sadly long in the tooth for the artist that invented it.

    As far as the music goes, it's more or less fine. And that is a consolation prize, and a pretty decent one at that (tracks like After Dark and and Emotionless are standouts). Drake is in fine form as always when it comes to hooks and flows, and production is handled competently by all parties involved. But like his lyrical content, the traditionally Drake sonic palette is wearing thin. 40 sounds like he is running/has run out of ideas--the lone counterexamples on the record being Peak, with it's weird, entrancing, center-of-the-mix synth stabs, and Summer Games, a capable and adventurous (for Drake) synthpop ballad.

    All in all, this album sounds like a typical Drake record, somewhere between Views and Take Care. and if that's what you're looking for, this album should satisfy you. But personally, I'm ready for something different. I think it's time for Drake to go experimental. Shed thine popstar mantle, Drake, and be free!    … Expand

There are some good songs though such as Don't Matter To Me, Survival, Sandra's Rose, and That's How You Feel.     When compared to previous albums Scorpion touches more ground.But It had some issues with the production and Storytelling just like More Life.When talking about the songs there is nothing new for this Scorpion era.Just some songs for stream and radio.

    A horribly, boring mediocre album that should never have been made. I thought Views would be the lowest point in Drake's albums career but this one is even lower. It is an album that has NO point in being made. It was made just because Drake needed a new album, and arguably new money. No direction, no standouts, no inspiration, just mindless beats and soulless raps. A disgrace. 2/10

    There are some decent and good tracks on here, but there are so many fillers!! Overhyped album from Drake stans as always. This album is the worst he ever made as of now.

And even though Drake has a lot of past beautiful R&B songs (even a whole record, "Nothing Was The Same"), none of the tracks on the second part even comes close to the greatness of "Hold On, We're Going Home" or any track on 'Take Care' (the closest thing to decent is the Nicki Minaj sample on "That's How You Feel").
    It's a shame that one of the most anticipated albums of the year turned out to be such a dull and uninteresting ride.    … Expand

Yet its 90 minute run time is not at all justified. Most of the tracks are uninspiring and boring. The production is missing variety and the low number of features show that Drake is not capable of carrying an album on his own unlike Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. Yet it is unfair to compare Drake to Kendrick and Cole due to differing themes yet Kendrick and Cole can get away with using similar themes throughout many albums. Scorpion's theme does not deviate from the themes on Views and More Life. It is possible to get away with rapping/singing about the same thing if it is presented in a new format which Scorpion doesn't do. The only thing setting Scorpion apart from Views and More Life is the lack of dancehall based songs on Scorpion.

    It seems now that Drake is solely focused on selling records by presenting a "gimmick". In fact, every album since Views has presented a "gimmick". Views was "the album for Toronto", More Life was "a playlist for life", and Scorpion is "the double album". The use of these "gimmicks" are meant to be appealing to his fanbase - both casual and hardcore - as a way to build up hype for what is at the end of the day: a "cash grab". The high number of songs was designed to allow more plays as people streaming the album would contribute more listens than a 7 track album. Yet Scorpion does not any long term benefits. Most of these songs will meet a similar fate as those on More Life: forgotten after release date. For an album as uneventful and lackluster as Scorpion is, listening to 25 songs is a chore. And it is an even bigger chore to try to listen to it again. And again. And again. And again. A great movie has the ability to capture an audience for 3 hours and not leave a sense of wanting more. The same applies for albums and yet Scorpion made is extremely tempting to skip songs, especially in Side B. Yet Drake did NOT have to make a 25 song album about 80% of the songs being filler songs. Instead of focusing solely on curating a carefully consistent album with songs that bring new life to Drake's creative prowess, Drake gave everyone Views in a different package.

    Scorpion is not worthy of being a "classic". Simply because quality > quantity.    … Expand

    This album is enormous. Having over an hour and a half of music its really hard to digest, but when you read through the lyrics it is evident that Drake has just one thing in mind: women. (Seriously this guy only talks about women and it gets boring fast).     Meh. Pretty average album. Personally I prefer side b as it has a little more variety than side a, but both pretty much stay the same throughout. There are no real standout songs except for nice for what, which is far and away the best song in the album. This album could have been better had drake just switched up his flow a few times, or cut out a lot of the filler.

    This album is so flat, so boring, so nothing. The only good song is Nice for What. Awkward bars, awkward switch-ups, and too long with an album about nothing. He really did not need to talk about his son when Pusha T dissed him so hard, it makes it sound so awkward and uncomfortable. Jay-Z had a pretty good bar in my opinion though.

    5. God's Plan, never really thought it was a great song, i mean its good... 8/10
    6. I'm Upset, the "tough guy" comes back to tell us he's upset 10/10
    7. 8 Out Of 10, it's really a 9 Out Of 10, great track btw 9/10
    8. Mob Ties, at first i hated it, but its growing on me 8/10
    9. Can't Take a Joke, why was this put on the album? 2/10
    10. Sandra's Rose, nice little song and a good track to go with it 9/10
    11. Talk Up ft. JAY-Z, really underwhelming, like his new album with B 6/10
    12. Is There More, no there isn't 3/10
    Overall, its the better side by a little 7.5 (rounded up to 8)
    Side 2:
    1. Peak, bad intro, Survival was so much better 2/10
    2. Summer Games, if it was cut we all would probably be a better album 3/10
    3. Jaded, this song is pretty cringeworthy, definitely a skip 4/10
    4. Nice For What, This song brings the energy this side was lacking 10/10
    5. Finesse, Rihanna deserved a better song, assuming In My Feelings wasn't about her 4/10
    6. Ratchet Happy Birthday, Not the worst song on the album, but its pretty bad 1/10
    7. That's How You Feel, Nicki Minaj sample from her show was one perfectly 10/10
    8. Blue Tint, Future should have been on longer, he deserved a feature at least 9/10
    9. In My Feelings, if he said RiRi, it would have been an eleven out of ten, best on album 10/10
    10. Don't Matter To Me ft. Michael Jackson, love Michaels voice, drake was ok 8/10
    11. After Dark ft. Static Major & Ty Dolla $ign, its good... yeah that's it 7/10
    12. Final Fantasy, the worst on the album, skip 0/10
    13. March 14, first half is great but second is pointlessly long and random 7/10
    Overall, the side was hit or miss, like Views 5.77 (rounded up to 6)

    Standouts for side 1 are Nonstop, Emotionless and I'm Upset
    Standouts for side 2 are Nice For What, That's How You Feel and In My Feelings

    During its 89 minute run, I found myself often zoning out before I realized that three songs went by. There are a few actually good songs that somewhat reignite my interest, but they come pretty sporadically and feel like diamonds in the rough amongst a sea of filler.

    It's also very hard to take anything Drake says seriously because of the drama surrounding him just before its release.    During its 89 minute run, I found myself often zoning out before I realized that three songs went by. There are a few actually good songs that somewhat reignite my interest, but they come pretty sporadically and feel like diamonds in the rough amongst a sea of filler.

    It's also very hard to take anything Drake says seriously because of the drama surrounding him just before its release. His beef with Pusha T greatly overshadows any creative effort and diminishes any credibility he had as a rapper. Scorpion tries to restore faith in Drake's skills, but it falls short of being anything remotely compelling and becomes a testament of his lack there of.

    Really versatile album, from hip hop turn up songs to emotional R&B songs. Great features including Jay-Z and MJ. Add to that Ty Dolla Sign's vocals, that were really enjoyable. In my opinion one of the best Drake's albums !

    On this album Drake gave the public his both sides as an artist. The rapper Drake and the R&B Drake. The choice was genius considering the fact everyone wanted that double disc, esp more R&B Drake. Scorpion can be considered as a playlist or as two different albums at the same time, depending on the way you decide to play it. The A side is straight fire.     The side B is what everyone has been longing for to hear from Drake. He gave the public those late night Take Care vibes with Jaded. Final Fantasy is the r&b gem equally beautiful to Fire&Desire from Views. The song with MJ deserves an applause. He really managed to bring back some of the unreleased stuff of him and combined it quite well with the modern r&b vibe and his singing voice which is pretty great, considering the fact he's a rapper. In My Feelings can be considered as the biggest plot twist , but in a beautiful way because it turned out to be one of the most summerish songs from the album. Let's not forget about March 14 which I would like to consider as a bonus track of the album. The sh*t is so personal and emotional. Talking about the personal side of Drake I really couldn't expect a better track than Sandra's Rose to describe his precious relationship with his mom, which many of the rapper fail to express it on songs because their pride is too strong to express soft sh*t like that.     I this album was 10 tracks, it could be a 10/10. What will they put in posthumous Drake box sets if he slaps all of the B-sides on a record for maximum streams? This is Culture II all over again.

If Drake was still innovating with his music I would probably still be a fan, but at this point it's all warped and blended together because it all mostly sounds the same. It's either a retread, a derivative of other better music or a mix of the two. It's a pretty impressive accomplishment when you can release a 25 song album with barely any features at all and make it worth listening to, especially nowadays in the streaming era. I liked the unreleased Michael Jackson sample, Nicki's old sample, as well as Jay Z's feature as Drake's idol and blueprint follower. Drake does his best to give you both sides that he's known for (R&B + Rap) and express his disdain for those who wish his demise in the most artful way possible, but it's clearly time for him to take a long step back now and attend to his own issues before the next summary. I give it a solid 85/100. For me, it's in his top 3 or 5 best albums next to If You're Reading This It's Too Late, Take Care, Nothing Was The Same, etc.… Expand

    People need to stop acting like this was trash, his level of rapping was more sharp and meaningful thank anything he has made since NWTS, and overall it only had 1 or 2 bad songs out of 25. Far better than Views and More Life.

    Honestly this album deserves a 7 but a lot of haters are giving it a 0. I feel this album lacked the energy of More Life. Side A is "jaded". Its like he's trying to prove he can be a dominant rapper, which he is, but he is spitting on boring unenergetic beats. Side B is very solid. It's like he wanted to actually try new things.     Drake once again delivers and makes an album that has something for everybody. If you like R&B -Drake, side B has got you covered. If you like hype/bar-heavy Drake, then side A has got you covered.

I would have given the album a 7.8-8.5 but i'm inclined to give it a 10 because of the unnecessary hate. I enjoyed the album, from production to lyrics. It lowkey reminded me of old school Drake, from Take Care to NWTS. I was not fond of Ty before but he overwhelmed me with his performance on the album. Drake could've chosen a better MJ sample but I still enjoyed it a lot. I wanted MJ to go Billy Jean or Smooth Criminal. So to me the album is not his best but it's definitely not his worst despite what the haters are trying to put in here with small excuses from pointing out someone's username to the filler excuse, and even someone mentioning the A side sounded the same but guess what: it didn't cause we had Elevate, Survival and Mob Ties different flows. It was an enjoyable album and try to not look at the haters. The general user rating should not make you think a certain way about the album because there is a certain bias going on. **** the haters.… Expand

    Scorpion doesn't even come close to being one of his best; instead, it's a one-trick record stretched out into 25 endless tracks by an artist who's so deep into the self-obsessed, self-pitying rut he created for himself that he can't see daylight anymore.

    In the long run, a few duds in 90 minutes of material doesn't seem too high a sin, especially considering the same concession could easily be made for a release like the Beatles' White Album. Thus, with Scorpion, Drake makes a cohesive argument for broadening our attention spans and enjoying life's music, regardless of runtime.
