On what is his tenth studio album, he proves why he’s achieved such longevity in the fickle game that is rap. Tracks such as 'Turnpike Ike' showcase the four-time Grammy nominee at his very best, while his willingness to delve into topics outside of his luxurious lifestyle add a depth and gravitas to the record that make it a worthy successor to the original thirteen years on.

Port Of Miami is just better than Port Of Miami 2. ... This album is solid, not spectacular. ... This album’s in the middle. It’s something that shouldn’t be regarded as offensive to ears or must listen. It’s satisfactory. It’s great if you need another fix of Ross. It’s completely fine to skip if you don’t.

Frequent serious references to mortality make Port of Miami 2 his heaviest recording.

Too often on Port of Miami 2, he locks into the flow of least resistance and simply lets it ride, hiding behind his production instead of asserting his dominion over it. And while his music remains sumptuous as always, that luster alone is no longer enough to wow.

Port of Miami 2 doesn’t feel like a sequel to Port of Miami so much as a sequel to Rich Forever which I still have on high rotation - every bit as good as Deeper Than Rap and Teflon Don. The Bawse isn’t just coasting. The production is inventive - there is even a semi-reggae feel to one track - and there are a number of tracks with added female vocals which remind me of Mine Games with Kelly Rowland on Rich Forever. So great to hear Rick Ross at his best again. Full Review »

The bawse is back with a star studded and epic soundtrack like album that highlight histoire bravade and ear for beats.
