    After a failed experiment (in my opinion) in Lust for Life and criticism over cliched lyricism, Lana Del Rey puts together arguably her best album yet. Beautiful instrumentals, haunting lyrics unlike other songs we’ve seen by her, and just great care put into each and every song.

    After listening to just a handful of songs I can assure you that Norman F##king Rockwell is another of Lana del Rey's knockout masterpieces. "Hope is a Dangerous Thing..." in particular is an amazing song.

    Lana Del Rey has really blown me away with this new album! At my first listen I was already sure this album was her Magnus Opus.

    Norman F****** Rockwell has cemented Lana Del Rey as a staple of the 21 century, very few artist are ever able to create an intricate album of this calibre! It’s a truly enchanting record with absolutely no dull moments, despite having no ‘generic’ radio    Lana Del Rey has really blown me away with this new album! At my first listen I was already sure this album was her Magnus Opus.

    I personally was not too taken by her last couple of albums, and I’m not saying they were bad, they just missed the mark for me, failing to hit the quality of both Born To Die and Ultraviolence. But this album has truly proved me wrong, exceeding both these albums in every way. Lana has truly outdone herself, proving herself to be a true artist and will be remembered for this album for decades to come.    … Expand

    This album is so beautifully crafted it deserves all the praise it can get. It’s definitely among the best work Lana has ever released. Songs like Venice **** The Greatest and California are top tier and about 80% of the album is a highlight!

    Her most consistent work to date. The tracks seem to be more organic than her previous albums and it could be considered an evolution when compared to Ultraviolence and it makes me so proud of her growth as an artist.

    Her best album, hands down. She’s definitely gone back to the Ultraviolence vibe and it’s payed off. As a whole it really is a stunning album, but the individual songs stand strong too. It feels a lot more cohesive than Lust For Life as well. Definitely high on my Albums of 2019 list!

    Desde o BTD a Lana está em evolução. E isso é fato. A evolução pro Ultra foi magnífica, principalmente na parte lírica que desde então melhorou bastante. A voz da Lana está mais sólida a cada álbum, soa tão boa que ninguém nem lembra mais como era suas performances por volta de 2011/2012. Lana se tornou uma mulher mais madura, e sua forma de enxergar o mundo já não é mais a mesma. Ela estáDesde o BTD a Lana está em evolução. E isso é fato.     I only listened to this once this mornin' and i just can't get rid of it! I love the unique production and the fact that Lana has incorporated several psychedelic pop, piano, rock, and folk-country on this album while maintaining her unique, signature sound and aesthetic! Also, the lyrical content seems very personal, vulnerable, mature but also happy at the same time (I'll need to analyzeI only listened to this once this mornin' and i just can't get rid of it!     Probably Lana’s most cohesive and balanced album. A collection of classic songs with the influence of Laurel Canyon melodies from the seventies, I can even sense Joni Mitchell on some lines. Absolutely stunning.

    Words can’t describe how I feel about this album. It’s simply beautiful, dreamy, and nostalgic. It takes you on a dreamy journey to the West Coast through the eyes of Lana herself. The entire album is cohesive and thematic and the lyricism is some of Lanas’s best.

The feeling is very much different from any of the other Lana's albums, the vibe is total different (if you are a fan). I feel that in this album Lana focuses more on her emotion, the poetic lyrics, she didn't let the instrument or the background musicI'm now listening to Cinnamon Girl and It's beyond what I can express.     One of my favorites on the album are Venice **** California and Bartender. Loved the way she put Bartender and HIAB back to back cause i think they are lyrically flowing.     This album is a whole new level for Lana's music. Showcases a more mature artist who found out how to write the topics she usually writes about but not in surface level, but in a developed way. Jack Antonoff seems to be the perfect match for her: each of them bent over their own previous style to a middleground of 60's surf music. We can feel true emotions by the mix of her singing mixed with the beautiful and polished production. It's an album most likely to make you cry at least in one song, beacuse it's so intimate. Standouts for me are Cinnamon Girl, California and the greatest.… Expand

    After listening to 'Lust For Life' in 2017, I felt as if Lana had entered a more enchanting and loving territory of her music. However, I didn't enjoy the previous album as much as this record. This...arguably for me, ties Ultraviolence as her best work. Take the awesome Sublime cover of 'Doin Time' to the sweet-sounding 'Cinnamon Girl', to the wistful guitars featuring Lana's beautifulAfter listening to 'Lust For Life' in 2017, I felt as if Lana had entered a more enchanting and loving territory of her music.     simply perfect. lana is one of the biggest artists to ever touch the art of music. this album just proves her potential to be the biggest of this generation once again. i've got no words. 10/10.

    I knew it the first listen over a month ago, but after all this time it's impossible to deny that this is Lana Del Rey's greatest album. For an artist with a distinct writing style and sound, all of her albums have been different sonic journeys. 'NFR' is her greatest album because you can hear all her previous records influencing this one, and yet it is utterly distinct. Her songwriting isI knew it the first listen over a month ago, but after all this time it's impossible to deny that this is Lana Del Rey's greatest album. For an artist with a distinct writing style and sound, all of her albums have been different sonic journeys. 'NFR' is her greatest album because you can hear all her previous records influencing this one, and yet it is utterly distinct.     It's a remarkably sharp pop record that retains her fascination with pop-culture iconography and the rosey simplicity of a post-war America where classic rock and blue jeans ruled and takes them to much deeper places. ... Think of it as an hour-long car ride peeling down the highway with classic rock blaring out of the radio and no real destination in mind other than where your impulsive nature might take you.

    A thematically rich record, heavy on mood and elegantly written in a way that positions Del Rey between Eve Babitz and Carole King. There are beguiling and evolving melodies underneath the spare piano and acoustic arrangements. [Nov 2019, p.24]
