Lover is an album that does not get a lot of love because of the singles, mainly the lead single which sucks because there are good singles like the man, the archer, and lover. I personally even like you need to calm down. Other amazing songs on the album are afterglow, london boy, cruel summer, and many more.

Taylor Swift at her rock bottom. Lover has only about 5 good songs (the best highlight being false god and title track) but the rest is 1989 rejects and classic corny, cheesy Taylor. not good.

I am a hopeless romantic, what else can I say?
Taylor takes us through the phases of love and not only does she takes about the good stuff, she goes into the deep, hard to confess stuff about her current relationship. As always very transparent in her music and I love that she still has a "sharp pen and a thin skin and an open heart" ;)

this is definitely one of the most boring albums I've ever listend, and taylor's wort project. it's sad that there are some amazing songs like lover, soon you'll get better, afterglow and cruel summer, lost among a bunch of fillers and boring as hell songs.
I'll never understand why there's 18 tracks on this album, when it could have easily been a 8 tracks ep. It's just a complete disappointment.

Looking though Swift’s last record we see a gigantic difference between reputation and lover, and i think this is amazing. In lover we can see a side knowled and deeper side of Taylor: the romantic. Kinda oblivious but Lover talks about the different types of love, passing through self love, no corresponded love and most true love. Taylor made a nice job in this record.

Surprisingly good. The singles were not good, basic mediocre pop music. She tried too hard to have a hit. However, the album is great. Great production, lyricism and vocals. A lot of incredible tracks like cruel summer, the archer, cornelia street, death by a thousand cut, etc. The only problem is that the album is way too long and is not cohesive at all.

She’s unburdened by love, and that explosive happiness makes itself present across this record. Though uneven, «Lover» is a bright, fun album with great emotional honesty. When it hits the right notes, it demonstrates just why Taylor Swift is one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Nevertheless, It’s probably five bad songs away from being better than «1989». «ME!» still sounds like a musical number taken out of context, just unearned celebratory fanfare without plot or character development, so dead-eyed it’s spooky. But she’s better when she gives herself real space to think, as on «Cornelia Street», a lovely, understated tribute to memory and nostalgia with the power to make one rarefied block of Manhattan feel universal. It's clearly a fun song from the perspective of someone acting quite narcissistic. I found this idea quite fun, even if Brendan Urie was in it. It's Nice To Have A Friend is quite a nice song to be put second-to-last.

The whole purpose of this album is to have fun. It has moment of silliness and it works well at time.

It's a shame the instrumentals of most tracks are quite bland and blend together too much. The album felt quite directionless at times, I noticed this the most at the track "The Man". It seems to get nowhere lyrically or instrumentally. It's still catchy but the journey just isn't worth it. "False God" is a boring song with questionable production choices. It's a bit random and just isn't catchy at all.

I found enjoyment in this album but for the most part it's just a boring, bland, pop album with some exciting moments. I felt quite indifferent about this album by the end. I didn't like it or hate it.

The "Lover" by Taylor Swift is a lovable album. Some lyrics are attractive and catchy. Some songs are best, and I will listen to the songs I like so many times, but some are not that best. It's amazing how she is able to capture a loving atmospheric feeling in all the songs. Some are fast and very pop. There are so many amazing songs on this album. While it is not perfect (quite a tonal shift from Reputation to Lover), it's still amazing. ME! is not my favourite song, but every other song is just so good. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A great pop album, but sadly, there are way too many fillers on this album. Songs like 'It's Nice To Have A Friend', 'ME!' and 'You Need To Calm Down' could've been left out as they are boring and annoying and only bring the album down. I understand that 'I Forgot That You Existed' acts as a bridge from her previous album 'reputation' to Lover, but honestly, who cares? When I started listening to that song, I thought to myself, "Is this album just gonna be filled with such boring songs?", she should've just put 'Cruel Summer' as the album opener as well as the lead single as that song would definitely get both of those jobs done perfectly. Again, not a bad album, just a lot of useless songs that bring down the album an devalue the good ones. Though, I must say songs like the title track, 'Death By A Thousand Cuts' or 'Cornelia Street' definitely make this album worthy of a listen. Expand
