I think that this album is average, but it doesn't mean that I don't want to give a chance to kpop: in contrast, I know kpop too well, and I listened to BTS before they gained international populatity, before daesangs, bbmas, etc. I know that they CAN do better. I hope that someday they will put their soul into their studio albums and EPs again, just like they did before with their oldI think that this album is average, but it doesn't mean that I don't want to give a chance to kpop: in contrast, I know kpop too well, and I listened to BTS before they gained international populatity, before daesangs, bbmas, etc. I know that they CAN do better. I hope that someday they will put their soul into their studio albums and EPs again, just like they did before with their old albums and mixtapes. The title song, Fake Love, brought back that feeling, but sadly, I can't say the same about other songs, which is sad, since even b-side tracks on Love Yourself: Her were much better than these ones. LY:Tear is literally 1 great song + 10 unmemorable b-side tracks.

And no, this is not another 'I wish they never changed': I'm happy that they changed, but now they just produce the kind of music that western market demands with simplified lyrics, which is tragic, since I always appreciated honesty of their lyrics.

It started off so well and then the production just took a turn for the worse in the second half.

It is not my favourite album from the group, but it is saved by one of the best songs the group has ever released, Outro:Tear.

Love Yourself: Tear shows off each individual member’s qualities fairly and acts as a well-structured introduction to a wider global audience that is all too eager to pick out negatives.

Tear aims for cohesion and produces fun, prismatic songs in the process.

Throughout it all, the members of BTS affect melodic sincerity, singing with intensity and melisma, rapping in tones that show their effort and strain, as if caring never went out of style.
