It's mind-boggling that there are so many positive reviews for this album. I can't remember the last time I had to skip every single song on an album 30-60 seconds into each one.

Besides Euphoria and Kiss & Tell, I wouldn't play any of these songs for any of my dookies marinating in the toilet.

While certainly one of the most robustly guitar-centric albums Angels & Airwaves have made, there is still plenty of synthy, otherworldly shimmer glowing at the edges of Lifeforms, and cuts like "Rebel Girl," "Euphoria," and "Spellbound" bristle with a vibrant blend of punk and dance-rock energies.

Big, bold and ambitious, it’s both a welcome return and a statement of intent.

Despite lofty ambitions to write a letter 'from God to humanity' on Restless Souls, these are counter-attacked by Rebel Girl, an overstuffed, over-sweetened, male gaze-heavy, lovelorn confection that completely overrides the potential of its title. ... nevertheless, Lifeforms is beautifully produced and catchy as hell, earning itself a spot on any intergalactic playlist.
