This Nas and Hit-boy album is what we were expecting form the Kanye and Nas album, a masterpiece. The production harkens back to golden era boom bap and smooth R&B with a modern touch of current day engineering clarity, think of Pete Rock. Hit-boy beats seem to provide exactly what Nas needed. Nas bars don't miss, the features make sense and sound like they belong within the content of theThis Nas and Hit-boy album is what we were expecting form the Kanye and Nas album, a masterpiece. I'mma give it a 1/10 because I actually liked this album but seeing the ratings it has received tells me that this score must be lowered, by a lot.

The decline started here. No topics, no new sounds, no new style. His days are over since Illmatic but you are not ready for this conversation yet

Nas is more ruminative and measured, like he's found his stride again, even as he flagrantly contradicts himself and waylays men and women with relationship advice that rings hollow. Going strictly by the conviction and feeling in each line, King's Disease is the MC's best work since 2008.

King's Disease is a record that's occasionally swollen with too many ideas, backed up by lazy rhymes and unsavoury politics. Thankfully, with impeccable production overseen by executive producer Hit-Boy and bolstered by a slew of excellent guest features, Nas overcomes these pain points to pull together his most satisfying project in close to a decade.

The creative process seems more organized and thought out, allowing Nas to do all the things he’s good at, without embellishing any of them.
