Produced by Beck, Pharrell Williams, and David Greenbaum, "Hyperspace" turned out to be somewhat mediocre and disappointing. For a genius musical chameleon like Hansen, he dropped the ball on this project.

Tracks such as "Hyperlife", "Chemical", "Hyperspace", "See Through", and "Everlasting Nothing" just fall flat, uninspired, and boring. They come off like album filler. Not good when

the CD is only 11 tracks and slightly under 40 minutes.

The highlights include "Star", "Stratosphere", "Uneventful Days"; "Saw Lightning", "Die Waiting", and "Dark Places". In essence, "Hyperspace" would have faired better as an E.P.

The sound of the otherworldly sci-fi R&B that's released when psych country singer-songwriter and a future-pop production legend bond at molecular level. [Jan 2019, p.86]

Not all of the 11 tracks here strike gold, but they glitter and glow with positivity.

Sometimes he hits pure signal, and sometimes it’s just background noise as he gets to wherever he’s going next.
