    After Lover I didn't know how she was going to top herself but she did it with Folklore, Folklore is just a gorgeous masterpiece and I love how effortless she moves from genre to genre. Folklore is her best work to date and my favorite album of hers, my favorite album of 2020, and one of my favorite albums of all time. I can't express how much I love this album, she deserves a Grammy for album of the year for Folklore. I just ordered the "in the weeds" edition CD and can not wait for it to get here.… Expand

It's not just a "pandemic album", or it doesn't even comes close to be an album about the pandemic, but it's an album that became needed in a time where we have pretty much anyone but ourselves (and some caracthers) to survive the loneliness.
    In top of that she even    Taylor did what we needed and we never knew: a album about escapism, daydreaming, with mature lyrics and storytellying. It's not just a "pandemic album", or it doesn't even comes close to be an album about the pandemic, but it's an album that became needed in a time where we have pretty much anyone but ourselves (and some caracthers) to survive the loneliness.
    In top of that she even creats it in a line of work that she never dive in before, but just swom in the margens: her first alternative album, with some folk aspects and sonically cohesive. No doubt it's her best work (so far).    … Expand

The song trilogy (cardigan/august/Betty) stands out to me because no other contemporary singer-songwriter has attempted to do a song trilogy like it. I became serious about listening to Taylor’s music after “Lover” was released and received overwhelmingly positive reviews.     I'm a Swiftie but I'm gonna give you my honest opinion about the album. Not gonna lie, I didn't like it in the first place. I blame it to being awake for 24 consecutive hours to wait the album. After listening it two more times: I realized that this is a career highlight, Ms. Swift's best work up to date. I love all the tracks but Hoax is my favourite by far.     her storytelling is what makes her so successful and people forgets about that, i didnt enjoy lover at all, i was disjointed but wow, she restored all my love and respect for her with this one. so cohesive, so mature and just flawless overall. i never thought she could top red but she made it!

    It is undeniable that Swift has great skills as a songwriter and Folklore is proof of that. The album brings a different sound from the rest of her discography and very intimate lyrics. However my problem with the album was some melodies not so easy to hear, sounding a little strange.

    It's absolutely brilliant. During these hard times, this album has helped me keep my sanity. It's one of the those albums which are best listened to alone. After watching the "folklore : the long pond studio session", my appreciation for the album has increased 10 folds. Few of my favourites from this album are "Cardigan", "this is me trying", "mirrorball" and "hoax". I love it so much.

    Beautiful, ethereal and Best Album of 2020. Each song builds upon the next and Inter-woven beautifully together into this masterpiece!

    i love how some songs connect to eachother and have parallels, the production is so beautiful and pretty it feels like it's taking you somewhere else. taylor swift is such a talented songwriter, she blows my mind everytime she releases new music.

    A lyrical masterpiece. Her artistic evolution in this album is at its peak, she showed throughout this album that even without all the fancy production, songwriting alone can suffice for artistic evaluation and can fulfill the song's purpose.

    These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
