    Dedicated Side B is more upbeat, energetic, and memorable than its counterpart, featuring hook-laden verses and explosive choruses that only came through intermittently on what we’ll refer to as Side A. It’s everything Dedicated was and everything that it wasn’t, all rolled into one. These songs don’t feel even the slightest bit unfinished. ... Her very best album to date.

    Although Dedicated might be a more comprehensive piece of work as a whole, Side B is so impressively strong that it could easily be a continuation of the album (its B-side, even). Side B is brimming with starry-eyed euphoria, glittery synth-pop confections and her characteristically odd lyrical syntax.

    Perhaps the B-sides are not all as special as what Jepsen chose for her official album, but she saved them and released them with her fans in mind. All along, she was most dedicated to them.

Every Carly record is addictive, but there’s something particularly magnetic about this one; it’s doused in sun-kissed melancholy and yacht-rock luxury, and like all her records, it’s clean, tightly written, tightly produced, beautifully sad, beautifully romantic, beautifully celebratory of love and life. While it may be called the B-Sides, this is a record that stands on its own, makes it own statement, offering some of the best Carly tracks to date (the notable standout being the Bleachers collaboration “Comeback” ). The weird thing about this LP is that it still has that nostalgic sound and feel as it's predecessor "Dedicated", but it just feels different. A GREAT different. It's more relaxing really. It has more of a mellow, unique sound that makes it seem confidential almost. And everything is amazing as always; the songwriting, the production, her expressions through song. They all have that magical, inspiring Carly Rae Jepsen touch.
