Eventually capturing both the sickly magenta beauty and unnatural creeping dread of Lovecraft's alien world. [May 2020, p.90]

Like Stanley’s film, Stetson’s score fully realises the terrible, wondrous majesty hinted at in the 1927 text. [Apr 2020, p.62]

In The Color Out of Space, Stetson's score is, in its empathy, an actual character, one that accompanies the protagonists as a witness, portraying every encounter with an alien force without ever being intrusive.

Colin Stetson has created a loud, unique, often terrifying collection of music for a film that can best be described the same way.

Stetson does an admirable job finding ways to maintain a tone of persistent unease, but his compositional skills are tested by the film's reliance on abstract horror with occasional visceral shocks over any kind of concrete story or consistent character beats. Detached from the visuals it makes for a pretty bumpy ride.

Very good soundtrack I can honestly listen to all day. It matches the film, and it sounds like a lot of effort was put into making it.
