It’s like he took the greatest parts from his previous albums, improved on them, and morphed them together into something greater. His satire, flow, genius instrumentals, and messages are close to perfection. Those that are offended by any of this do not understand the point of the satire.

Never heard and album like this before and I think that’s what the amazing thing about it is. It is so out there, yet so Tyler. Not a Tyler we’ve heard before, but a Tyler that seemed familiar; that we knew was always there.

After a few listens, it is safe to say this could be a potential masterpiece we look back to in the near future. The album feels complete, the production level is insane and gets you immediately in the right vibe. Call Me If You Get Lost got me from the first listen on, Tyler is increasing in quality every time he makes a new album.

Tyler did it again. He still keeps the masterful production but now instead of mostly poppy singing and melodies, he replaces them for hard raps. No matter what style he does he manages to take it to 11. This is the Album of the Year and I can't think of anyone who could drop something to top this.

When this album I didn’t think Tyler could do better than IGOR I thought that was his true masterpiece and he couldn’t top it but oh boy does Tyler change my mind real quick. This album has no skips and gels so well together and the transitions are godly. Easily a 10 and might be Tyler’s greatest album yet.

Its a good album. I didnt like every part of it and surly this isnt another igor, but still a good album. Tho i wish they included voicemail songs, especially "Number", its such a banger, but who knows, maybe it will show up on some deluxe version or will be physicall only just like boyfriend on igor.

My opinion on the album is changing over time, and tracks are growing on me - however I can't help but feel that this is a slight misstep in Tyler's progression and I am slightly underwhelmed.

Musically the album is all over the place. It is undeniably Tyler, and really caters to all fans of his diverse career - but focus seems to be lacking. I'm unsure how I feel about this. There are moments I really love, but they can be short and then replaced by drawn out monotone beats. There is also WAY too much DJ Drama on this record. I like him, but less is more.

Tyler's more poignant lyrics from his previous two records can also be found, however this album feels way more self-indulgent and falls back on bragging and an array of other consumerist based/trivial topics often found in the tired genre, leading to a number of cringe-y lines that really take away from the music and the whole experience. His music is so unique and well thought out it's a shame that he can't quite full commit to keeping himself out of a box.

I'm going to keep listening and hope that I fall more in love with the record. Highlights so far include SIR BAUDELAIRE, MASSA, RISE, JUGGERNAUT and WILSHIRE. Everything else didn't make a huge impact.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is clearly Tyler, The Creator at his best. His music has matured so much that he won a Grammy for his last album and this album sees him celebrating his success and life with a sound leaning more towards rapping compared to his previous funk effort. On this album, Tyler isn't holding back his skillset as a rapper, singer and producer as well. This what all his fans wanted when they said they wanted to hear him make a. rap album and he pulled it off without making it look like fan service because he truly seems to be enjoying himself. The features here just takes this album to a much higher standard as Tyler makes the chemistry work almost flawlessly between every single one of them. If anyone is trying to get into Tyler's music, this is a great place to start since despite adding new sounds to his inventory, he holds his roots almost as if he has learned something from every album he put out. This is his most accomplished work to date. Expand

I think this is Tyler's best album, simply because it seems to be his most ambitious one yet, while also being as polished as Flowerboy and Igor. This is similar to what is seen in Igor, but he focuses less on the breakup itself as the distorted character Igor and more on his troubled love as a normal straight guy. This take surprisingly works wonderfully as the songs work towards painting this picture. Another thing I was surprised by was the features having UZI and Pharrell on Juggernaut with Tyler surprised me but they all stood out and brought something to the track. One of the best first listens to an albums I've ever experienced. Incredible production, Tyler here really kills the R&B vibe mixed with much harsher sounds and these really nice smooth wind instruments. Tyler the Creator is a very talented artist with nine total albums. His newest release being “ CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST,” is filled with deep thought and a creative background. This album has a lot of built up aggression and well thought out lyrics going into different genres. In this album Tyler goes by, “ Tyler Bauldelaire” after the French poet Charles Pierre Baulderlaire, using Charles as a role model in a way sets Tyler up to look as if he has mastered the art.
The album “ CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST,” although the album's beat can be harsh it is very well written . One line in the song “RISE” I enjoyed was, “ I could touch the sky, I didn't see any ceilings,” this just shows that everyone has goals and can touch the sky no matter what gets in the way yet, this album did not reach its full potential, many songs have too harsh of beats and the sound overpowers the singing. In the song “MOMMA TALK,”the beat throughout the entire song is too heavy and it becomes hard to hear the actual lyrics. The beat ends up overpowering the song and diminishing the lyrics' and the focus is drowned out in the background. At the beginning of the song the beat is not as loud, but after the third or fourth line of the first verse the beat ‘drops’ and becomes overwhelming. It is apparent that the beat was meant to be more prominent in this album compared to his others which makes some particularly interested or inclined to listen to “CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST,” again.
This album includes many talented artists such as, 42 Dugg, Youngboy, Lil Wayne, Brent Faiyaz, and Lil Uzi as well as many others. One song called, “HOTWIND BLOWS” features Lil Wayne. This specific song has a very “hypnotic” tune, it has slow but rushed instrumentals with soft flute and drums. Lil Wayne's voice is more calming than Tylers in this song and I feel that it helps out the whole album. Lil Wayne allows for a break per say, whereas the rest of the album can be very eccentric. Lil Wayne himself is a very talented artist and the collaboration between himself and Tylers has resulted in an amazing outcome. Although this song is more enjoyable than the others, the beat is still a very prominent issue. At the beginning it is a very soft and slow relaxing beat. As the song continues the beat becomes louder and distracting as many other noises are added in with the background. It diverts attention from the lyrics to the background music. There are “whoosh” noises and the sound of flutes come in at some point. Although it isn't as loud and prominent as it is in these other songs it is still distracting.

A refreshing blend of Tyler's growth sonically and writing. Tyler flexes the strength in his writing within the first half of the album, paying homage to his roots in rap, and finishes the album beautifully. This is a perfect example of music being overrated because of the current status of an artist. Tyler, the Creator has been on a tear in recent years, releasing excellent albums one after another. He is deservedly a cultural darling.

That being said, CMIYGL simply isn't up to par with most of Tyler's work. It's his worst album since Cherry Bomb. CMIYGL sounds like a 2010-era mixtape with extremely annoying DJ Drama vocals throughout the entire thing. The actual music simply isn't that enjoyable to listen to - the sounds and hooks on this album are mostly forgettable, even after multiple listens. Tyler's rapping is solid throughout the album, can't lie.

The biggest issue with this album is the production. The mixing is absolutely awful throughout the entire album. Vocals are not clear and beats are muddy. It's not as bad as Cherry Bomb but I would hope not as Cherry Bomb has some of the worst production/mixing ever heard on a commercial release of that magnitude.

Tyler has put out plenty of music that is mixed cleanly, so clearly this is a creative choice, and it's a really bad one. As far as this album winning a Grammy, that is a slap in the face to more than 30 hip-hop albums which came out last year that are all far better than CMIYGL with far more artistic value. A few of them are:

    1176 - Guapdad 4000
To Kill a Sunrise - Kota the Friend and Statik Selektah
    Clouds - NF
Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine - Brockhampton
    The Off-Season - J. Cole
    Planet Her - Doja Cat
    USee4Yourself - IDK
    Vince Staples - Vince Staples
The House Is Burning - Isaiah Rashad
    King's Disease II - Nas
    Certified Lover Boy - Drake
    Donda - Kanye West
The Melodic Blue - Baby Keem
Life of a Don - Don Toliver
    Asin9ne - Tech N9ne
    Murd & Mercy - B.o.B

Further proof that the Grammy's are a popularity contest first and a celebration of art last.

Indeed, I understand the cover of the album: it is a journey. Navigate between the hip-hop of West Coas, to a funk, neo-soul, impressive. IGOR's narrative in "Wilshire" still holds. Stylistically, it continues with the rough kind of production on IGOR blended with the crisp-sounding beats on Cherry Bomb. But, when I listened to this album a second time, I got a better grasp of the style, production, and lyrics. Stylistically, it continues with the rough kind of production on IGOR blended with the crisp-sounding beats on Cherry Bomb. And musically, the album is like a combination of the neo-soul parts of IGOR on some songs and the summer vibes of Flower Boy on others. The lyrics on this album are on-point; not a single moment on the album felt off-beat, and Tyler has pretty much stayed the same ever since Flower Boy. And the story, although abstract, is well told and is something almost anybody can relate to. Personally, I think the album started a little bit weak but gets better as it goes on; and at the end, the album ends strongly. "CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST" is a wonderful, although kind of bumpy, brilliantly creative album that most likely will be served as one of Tyler's classics.

    Overall score: 8.1/10
Favorite tracks: Manifesto, Wilshire, Massa, Sweet / I Thought You Wanted to Dance, Rise, Lumberjack, Corso, Safari
Least favorite tracks: Hot Wind Blows or Lemonhead

'Call Me If You Get Lost' is the best album since Beyoncé's iconic Lemonade, just like Lemonade, Call Me If You Get Lost allows us to listen to the entire album without skipping absolutely any tracks and always wanting to come back from the beginning and hear it all again. With a perfect trilogy within the album formed by SWEET/ THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE, the speech MOMMA TALK and RISE, Tyler provided incredible moments with this album. The production is definitely the best since Kendrick Lamar's great Good Kid Maad City. Expand

Tyler never ceases to surprise, this album is awesome! while this is a heavy rap album, the melodies are amazing! though i should probably say that this album isn't for the white girls that spend all their day on twitter talking about how they wanna kill men or **** dream or stuff like that

Glad Tyler is back to rapping, unfortunately I got too used to the type of sound Flower Boy and Igor provided (which is when I started listening to him) so it doesn't hit as hard to me. Also prefer Wolf over it, but I love rapping Tyler regardless. Just not my sound.

If IGOR was a 10 for me, this has to be an 8. The album has 2 songs that go on for nearly 10 minutes each and on one hand I have to commend Tyler for the experiment but on the other hand I found it to be obnoxious, especially on Wilshire WHICH I LIKED but you just really have to try and ignore the weird static noice on the right output. I mean like yeah I get it he recorded the song in one take and wanted to leave it as raw as it could be but come on man at least take away the part that’s obviously distracting from the message and the melody of the song. Most of the other songs I really liked. Runitup and Juggernaut are my favourites. I definitely liked his conceptual approach with his prior record more but if he would stick with this direction I wouldn’t be mad at all. 8/10 Expand

Such a unique and beautiful album. Tyler is mostly going back to his rap roots on this album, however there is some mix of genres like on "SWEET / I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE" and "RISE!".

The features on this album are incredible and feature a variety of different artists in the rap and r&b genre. I personally loved the Fana Hues, Brent Faiyaz, Lil Uzi Vert, and Pharell Williams

I personally loved the Fana Hues, Brent Faiyaz, Lil Uzi Vert, and Pharell Williams features. Each song on here builds on top of one another. The transition between one song to the next is great and well thought out. However, there is some questionable production decisions. I feel like the horns on a couple of these songs were a bit odd and not needed.

Tyler's rapping and flow on this album is perfect and will keep you hooked in and interested the whole way through. There is not one bland or boring track on this album. The beat and flow switches on some of these soongs are something special. This album is definitely gonna be on repeat for me.

To Tyler’s credit, he didn’t rest on his laurels. Instead, he crafted a concise piece of work about a very confident adult realizing his own ego is both his best asset and indeed his worst enemy.
