it is a penalty this type of music that does not leave any message only valid, recycled and little innovative sounds making evident the lack of talent and the understanding help of the auto tune.

Insanely inconsistent all throughout. Songs like “11 PM,” “No Puedo Olvidarte” featuring Nicky Jam, “Me Enamoré De Ti,” and “Extrañándote” featuring Zion & Lennox are very solid entries into Maluma’s catalogue, but everything else ranges from mediocre to all-out terrible. “Shhh (Calla’),” “Soltera” featuring Madonna, and “Te Quiero” are some of the worst songs Maluma has ever made.

All in all, it’s one of the more underwhelming records of 2019.

How thrilling these good-natured, thigh-rubbing party tunes are depends on your interest in the interplay of stereotypical “mamacitas” and “papi”s. But songs like No Puedo Olvidarte nail the sweet spot between hunky smouldering and wavy club music, and recent single HP sees things from a female perspective.

While his fellow countryman J Balvin has doggedly furthered the ascendance of urbano in the American mainstream, Maluma’s greatest strength lies in his adaptability. As part of a new generation of Latin vocalists racing to win the hearts of fans stateside, and well beyond, 11:11 sees Maluma at the brink of the finish line.

While other hitmaking urbanos (J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Farruko et. al) have also pursued crossover domination, Maluma is poised to succeed due to the seamless adaptability he offers on 11:11. He displays over and again here that he not only indulges stylistic diversity, but masters it.
