Homeworld 3 is everything I hoped it could be. It improves on its predecessors in every conceivable way, and adds meaningful new features including a cooperative War Games mode. I never thought it would happen again, but I’m happy to report…the mothership has cleared the scaffold...we are away once again.
Homeworld 3 is one of the most entrancing experiences I’ve had with a strategy game in years, and proof that the single-player RTS still has an important role to fill.
This game is amazing, the graphics the sound, omg RTS is alive!!! And they promisse for this year an amazing support like 3 new faction and so many things.
Homeworld 3 continues the gameplay that fans of the series know very well. At the same time, newcomers will easily find their way through the meanders of creating their own fleet - ready to crush all enemies that stand in its way. For strategy fans Homeworld 3 seems to be a must-have title, especially since the developers clearly want to support mods.
After decades of waiting, Homeworld 3 pushes the beloved space RTS series in new directions with megalithic terrain putting a fresh spin on combat, and a bitesized roguelite War Games mode, but still retains so much of the original tone and style. It doesn't quite stick the landing in some areas, and there's rough edges to improve, but I simply love being back in this setting and series.
Homeworld 3 did keep me engaged for a time thanks to gorgeous visuals and exciting tactical combat in the vastness of space. Performance-wise, I didn’t notice too many hiccups. With an Nvidia RTX 3080, Intel i9-10900K, and 32GB of RAM, I was able to select high graphical settings without a hitch. Unfortunately, the campaign’s story is a huge step down from previous installments. Missions, whether in the campaign or in multiplayer modes, are plagued by innumerable issues related to unit pathing, controls, and commands. It’s a disappointment that was 20 years in the making.
I waited so long for this. Homeworld is one of my most rated games of all time and seeing what's become of it is just heart breaking. Even the most basic of functions like attack move doesn't work. It looks absolutely stunning but what's the point if nothing works properly. This is a regression of the series with pretty graphics. I'm devastated.
1) Cash grab of the year (Dawn of War 3 all over again) 2) Intrusive DRM Denuvo 3) Unbalanced gameplay some units are almost useless, and some others are not responding correctly 4) Weak AI 5) Forgettable Feminist story with low quality CGI cinematics 6) Only 13 missions 6) Mixed bag multiplayer.
This is a Dune rip-off, introducing overdrama, cringeworthy dialogues, over-explanations dialogues, and drama between three people **** cinematics are repetitive and cringey. Homeworld was about science and cold analysis, yet emotional due to the burden of a people.Homeworld was about a nation, a people, contemplative, with politics subtly evoked, and ancient, mysterious technology. This scenario has no stakes. She destroys WORLDS and PLANETS, but you kill the TITAN with just building more and more frigates.Gameplay details are just an Unreal Engine standard assets and mechanics. The visuals are not good. Missiles look like energy balls from Dragon Ball, with no logic in ship scale, ship power, and ship details. Capital ships, like battle cruisers, lack **** lore and the work on the diversity of the ships are very **** camera is broken, unit selection is broken, and the AI behavior of units is broken. All the details that made the original Homeworld series a legend were forgotten, in favor of making a Dune/Starlancer/Netflix series.Even forgetting the old Homeworld series, THIS IS NOT a good RTS.Deserts of Kharak was good, but not this.
SummaryTactical, beautiful, and wholly unique, the GOTY-winning sci-fi RTS returns with Homeworld 3. Assume control and battle through fleet combat in dazzling, fully 3D space while the award-winning story unfolds on a galactic scale.
