The fact the series never takes itself too seriously gives writers and directors the breathing space they need to include every wild idea that crosses their minds, from musical numbers to training montages inspired by sports films. Because of that, Knuckles is a testament to how a talented and passionate team can turn the most basic story beat into something unique and incredibly entertaining.
While it functions largely as a streaming-only a clone of the first film, it displays a personality missing from the mainline movies by veering into welcoming absurdism and whimsy.
This is more ‘Wade’s World’ than ‘Sonic 2.5’. Still, Knuckles’ solo side-quest proves fun filler fluff as fans await the arrival of Shadow in the threequel.
Results will vary on “Knuckles”: hardcore fans of the franchise could be easily put off by how much Knuckles isn’t in the show. Others, maybe more casual viewers with little investment, might enjoy it for the harmless, low-stakes series it is.
Knuckles is very much a mixed bag. Sometimes, it feels like the Sonic films, with its use of larger-than-life characters in a real-world setting, but it loses focus to the point where Knuckles feels like a guest star in his own series.
Charitably, the series might be seen as a sort-of bonus for “Sonic” fans to keep the motor running while waiting for future movies, but it’s hard to imagine anyone on the shaving side of puberty being wowed by this iteration, and that demographic is unlikely to grasp the psychological nuance of Wade’s unresolved daddy issues.
lQuizás no sea una serie con muchos capítulos, pero disfrute cada segundo de esa serie, muy buena y llena de momentos emotivos, graciosos y épico, 10/10 les recomiendo verla
As a Sonic fan, this spinoff show is average at best. The only major complaint of this series is that Knuckles doesn't have enough screen time. And for goodness sake, this show is mostly about Wade and nearly slept every time I see him on screen but there are a few decent scenes I enjoy.
This show was mid at best, not too bad but not great, just avarage. It's even barely about knuckles and it looks more like the Wade show. Most of the humor is very childish, cringe and unfunny, only 10% of the jokes in this show makes you giggle. And the main plot is just abour bowling, and Wade's family with the most cliche story, and even the villians are very generic and cliche and not interesting. And the final episode has WWE ah acting and it was very predictable. And the acting was bad. But CGI was great but it also looked bad sometimes in some scenes.
But I get this show is for kids but most of Sonic fans are young adults who grew up with Sonic games and we wanted a show more focused about Knucles and other Sonic characters, not just a side character being a child adult with an annoying sister and terrible father.
It's like humans are a problem on Sonic live action movies. I hope Sonic The Hedgehog 3 doesn't have this problem and they focus more on Sonic characters and their lore. We don't care about humans, except for Eggman thats for sure.
This show wasn't even really about Knuckles. Focused way too much on a side character from the movies. I'm not saying a dynamic between these two was a bad idea in general, but Knuckles got little to no actual spotlight. Also the writing was half-assed and the acting was mid at best.
They took everything not Sonic-like about the Sonic Movies and made it a series.
-Knuckles rarely shows up. He's not relevant in it!
-The plot's a bowling tournament all about Wade The Cop and his dad.
-99% of this is humans talking, infrequently attempting to give the audience a reason to laugh.
-10% they do try making jokes, and it's bad. Mind-bogglingly, worse-than-Baldy-Mc-Nosehair-levels of bad.
-Knuckles does a total of 120 seconds' worth of cool fighting stuff in the entire series.
If you liked Knuckles in Sonic Frontiers, this show is the opposite of that. The way this was made, not just as a piece of Sonic media, but also as a TV show, are both unacceptable and an insult to the character. So if you're up to waste money on a brain-dead mini-series that might make you chuckle a little bit, waste your money on it. If you're not that kind of person, don't waste money on it, and spare yourself the pain of watching it.
