The show has stepped up its pacing. For the most part, that has been immensely satisfying, yielding crowd-pleasing moments that the and that the series generally avoided in the often-grim journey, especially for the Stark kids, which has led to this point.
What makes this premiere work is the way it combines necessary plot milestones with sequences of straightforward indulgence. ... The Game of Thrones premiere gives me hope that this final season will be a return to what made the series work so well at the start.
“Thrones” is doing absolutely stellar work within the bounds set around its current era: Highly burnished entertainment that lingers on no story point a beat more than strictly necessary to communicate the idea. Dwelling on the shows it once was and no longer is seems perhaps beyond the point.
The episode might be full of laughs and warm reunions, but this atrocity, this eerie undead fate, is what all of these characters are facing. It’s a good reminder of what is at stake, and frankly, the episode could have used more of these weighty moments and heightened tension. ... This is not to say that the sweeter and lighter character moments are unwelcome. But they should also exist alongside the dangerous moments.
As in season 7, the big problem with “Winterfell”—the reason it felt more like an unlucky videographer’s rendering of an exceptionally dysfunctional family reunion than like a carefully crafted story—was the pacing.
Good ending. Yeah maybe too hard to admit for some dramatic and purist people but it was good. Yeah some errors here and there, but overall the quality and the feeling was good. Maybe a decade later people will understand the genius and uniqueness of this show.
Olha.... Até o episódio 3 tava bom, tava divertido e tal, só que depois dele nada faz sentido é estranho ninguém age como normalmente ia agir sl tudo errado mas ainda achei ok deu pra se divertir e entendo a correria pra acabar a série.
ame of Thrones did not nail the ending. The last three episodes of this season failed due to poor writing. The show hasn't been the same since the end of season four but always managed to be great and in some instances, best of the best. For example, the final two episodes of season six are two of the best episodes in the entire series. However, you must have great writing to end a series that started out with it. You can have the best directing, acting, cinematography, & lighting but it means nothing if the story cannot support it. Unfortunately, this is what happened. Everything besides the writing was great and it's almost as if D&D no longer cared and just wanted to end it. Character arcs were completely ruined and rushed. Almost every core character had a disappointing end and even some were completely forgotten or abandoned. Overall, the show is still great and on of the best every made. It's just a shame the ending is weak compared to what came before. Its could be much better.
A far cry. A grave disappointment of rushed ideas in the penultimate season of a saga of dramatic growth. It plays like a shock exercise and spoils previous seasons. .
