Always nice to see talent return to work if not to a new peak; if only this release took more risks and went beyond what is fairly predictable fare. The production and playing here is wonderful - taking a collection of songs that could have been written anytime in the last 50 years and teasing the best out of them. The production and playing here is wonderful - taking a collection of songs that could have been written anytime in the last 50 years and teasing the best out of them. (Edwyn Collins is the perfect producer for this album and it is lovely to hear his voice again, if only in brief backing.) That said, nothing can quite save this album from falling into the 'too precious and pleasant to play again' category......

More risks and edges would benefit this so much....

This album is deceptively simple but wins you over with its profound lyrics about love and death and wanting something more. This is a project I would like to see extend to another album.

A welcome return from Tracyanne. I consider this albumt to be a succes and one I will enjoy revisiting from time to time. I do find some of the content a bit simple and generic occasionally. Nonetheless, several well crafted songs with good hooks, I think most listeners would find this music pleasurable to hear.

10 unassuming but gem-like songs that live up to their past work.

The whole thing is as immaculately crafted and endearingly overcast as the Scottish countryside.

Its loveliness is a bit more tentative, more cautious, more formulaic than Campbell’s music with Camera Obscura had become. One understands. This project has time to grow. For now, we’re just so glad she’s back.
