Aug 31, 2012A wonderful Soul/R&B/Blues Record and full of covers, like "Teardrops",but she knows how to cover a song with a lot of passion and spirit. One of the best voices today
Check out the song High Road (Broken Bell Cover),which is just amazing...
On "Give more power to the people" you can hear the amazing voice....
The Soul Sessions, Vol. 2 is full of energy and love. She is a real singer.

UncutAug 30, 2012The Chi-Lites' "Stoned Out Of My Mind" is ruined by needless melismatics, and the Broken Bells cover is no match for the White Stripes track on Vol. 1. But Gems include a half-tempo version of the Womacks' "Teardrops" and a stately reading of Eddie Floyd's "Nobody But You." [Sep 2012, p.86]

MojoAug 29, 2012This sounds like a calculated genre exercise. [Sep 2012, p.90]

Entertainment WeeklyAug 29, 2012As long as the original recordings by the Chi-Lites and the Rolling Stones continue to exists, Sessions' covers are passionately pointless. [3 Aug 2012, p.74]
