Proof that record critics are idiots. Do you realize that 70 for a double record comes to 140%? After you listen to all the other utter tunemania on this, crank the song "Turn it Again" along with "Wet Sand" and, oh hell, the whole two records once again. Sheesh, this is so-o-o-o fine.

This is the most beautiful album, both lyricly and musically, that I have ever heard. It is a materwork. The depth of emotion and musical craft is unparalleled. This is what music should be. This makes me even more discusted with all of the crap on the radio - obviously, there is real talent out there. Unfortunatly, the music industry is too obsessed with counting penny to pick up on it.

But eventually i bought it and im serious its the best album of the chilis yet. every single song on that CD is great. I HIGHLY recommend this album

Well, if they came with this extensive album before their highlights, Californication and By The Way, I would not be that hard. Nevertheless this double is really booooring. Songs resemble each others like the songs on the latest albums by R.E.M. There are not good songs enough even for one album. Seems that "more more more" does not work, does it, R.E.M., Coldplay, SOAD and RHCP?

So don't bother with the CD version or any store downloads: the only way to get Stadium Arcadium with the sound quality it deserves is the vinyl release. It has a different mastering, by renowned audiophile favorite Steve Hoffman. Yes, it is a tad more expensive - it is a 4 LP set, after all. While some tracks take time to digest, after a couple of spins you will find that they're there for a reason. It's a rollercoaster ride through the higher states of consciousnes, finding a perfect balance between the excitement of the fall and the anticipation and extasy of the way up.

This album sees RHCP touching the sound of every stage in their 23 year career. This album offers some of the wickedest guitar solos I've ever heard. And for those of you who have been wondering, yes, they have brought back the funk, and everything else they have done.It makes sense too since they r opening for them on this tour. I recomend all checking out the mars volta. Again best guitar ever! some solos give me chills everytime I hear them. The sound on this record is phenominal especially John Frusciante who is the best guitar player ever, he was always a great guitar player but only played great solos live, like on live at slane and live in hyde park but now he has but great guitar solos on a studio album it is just pure brilliance. Flea is the best bass player and is always exellent. Chad is the hard hitter he has always been and has not lost anything through age. Anthony Kiedis is still the best frontman ever. There were some doubts on the first few times through both discs, but all the songs really grow on you, especially "Tell Me Baby" and "Warlocks". Anthony is one of the best songwriters in todays music his lyrics can be funny, emotional and just average lyrics sometimes and it is just really nice. I think Anthony shows a lot of emotion on this album and it shows by listening to Stadium Arcadium, Slow Cheetah, Desecration Smile, If and a lot more songs on this album. The Red Hot Chilli peppers can write good lyrics for virtually anything - rock or rap. What a useless band. A co-worker was playing this today, and it sounded horrible. RHCP are the Eagles of today, touting lite laid-back Californian hedonism. They've always been lousy - their lyrics put me off the idea of sex at a young age. They made it sound gross, like someone throwing up all over themselves at a party. Serves as a mature, competent integration of their previous efforts and eclectic style. Because of "Stadium Arcadium's" dependence on their previous stylings, the band merely inches forward musically, as as opposed to exploding off the line. OMG this is one awsome cd. With two disc and over 2 hour of listing to music this cd will keep you listing. Great songs on the two discs. On Juipter there first cd, contains song that sounds like there old school beats. On Mars there second, contains new experimental music.

This album is quite simply, the best chill peppers album ever, and I don't say that lightly. It's quite simply masterful. This is a beautiful album for non-musicians but any self-respecting musician will listen to this and just say, 'wow!'

NME gives it only 7 out of 10. One of the reasons I've stopped buying. They've lost it. Almost every song's a classic. Risky putting out a double but they've cracked it.

28 tracks of shallow, dull, self-indulgent ego-tripping, mostly on the part of Anthony Keidis for his moronic vocals. Even the title sounds hopelessly retarded. The only remarkable thing about this album is that the Chilis still haven't got any better at writing lyrics after about 15 years. Try this - listen to the album through and afterwards try to recall any of the tunes. Simply a classic. Flea has held up his side of the bargain and is bringing back his amazing and funky bass riffs, Frusciante has labled himself a guitar God, drummer chad smith continues to hit the drums harder than anyone since John Bonham, and kiedis will suprise you with some new found vocal range. It is almost a critics duty to try to take a band as big as the chilis down a notch. But Simply a classic. I've never been a big RHCP fan, but this record is a modern masterpiece. It takes a few listens to distinguish between the songs, but once you do, each song has its share of hooks, solos and california rock charm to keep you engaged.

Ali M let me start off by addressing you, not being able to remember any of the tracks isnt so much the Chili Peppers fault, but the fact thats its 28 tracks long, maybe thats why you cant remember any of the tracks, and probably because you went into with a bias against the band in the first place. The album is great, better than their last By The Way, which was great in its own right, Ali M let me start off by addressing you, not being able to remember any of the tracks isnt so much the Chili Peppers fault, but the fact thats its 28 tracks long, maybe thats why you cant remember any of the tracks, and probably because you went into with a bias against the band in the first place. The album is great, better than their last By The Way, which was great in its own right, but they brought the funk back on this album. I own all their albums, and have to say this may be the best, yes even better than Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Its a close call between them, both albums dont have a bad song, and Blood Sugar has classics like "Under The Bridge","Suck My Kiss" and etc. But this new album is great, Dani California is not even in the top half of best tracks, and thats a great song in itself. My Favorites are "Charlie"-Give It away with a more melodic and grown up sound, "Strip My Mind"-Under the bridge type feel to it, "Desecration Smile-Great Melodies, and possibly the best song on the album-"Readymade", a better song than most metal bands can put out today. Not a bad song on the album even the weaker ones-"If", "Shes Only 18" are very solid efforts. Jupiter is more of an safe album with songs were used to hearing them sing the past couple albums, and Mars is more out there. I like Mars more myself, but Jupiter is great as well, both albums would be great on their own. Great album for Chili Pepper Fans, if you dont like them anyway, this isnt the album for you, listen to By The Way first then work your way up to the funk, but if your a fan of theirs, this album is well worth the almost 4 year wait. I am a long time Chili Peppers fan. That notwithstanding, this is a damn good album. I do find some similarity to The Eagles; mainly due to the guitarist's performance/influence--in harmony and also in some of the solos. I have read that this album is considered boring and un-edgey; " so unlike the Chili Peppers' reputation." Please, they still rock. They have developed their I am a long time Chili Peppers fan. They have developed their style, and to be honest I don't think they have been that "edgey" for several albums. The rawness is gone, as it should be. This band has been together, in sum, for a long time, and this is a perfect double-album for showing their evolution. Play this next to Freaky Styley or UMPP...WOW. Fresh, funky, melodic, and mournful, Stadium Arcadium is probably my favorite Chili Peppers album of all time (yes, it's better than Californication). My favorite songs: "Snow", "Stadium Arcadium", "Slow Cheetah", "Wet Sand", "Hey", "Desecration Smile", "Tell me Baby", "Hard to Concentrate", "If", "Storm in a Teacup", "Death of a Martian"

Sometimes bands just can't win. They get scorned for releasing an album that sounds similar to some things they've done in the past. Or they try to experiment and make something new, and it sounds bad and people pine for the old stuff. How about instead of comparing music to something else, listen to the music for what it's worth. And this album is worth quite a bit.

Es un album muy largo, parece que los chili peppers no tuvieran ideas claras de las canciones que deseaban hacer. Cuando lo escuche solo la mitad de las canciones me parecieron interesantes, las demas eran repetitivas y absurdas. Y Frusciante no debe tocar solos... JAMAS... que se quede con los ritmos funk

Excellent after waiting for so long. The album as a whole is great, with each song part of a wonderful flow of music. It might not be as upbeat as most of the other albums, but that's not the point--nor is it reason to steer away. There are plenty of surprises left in the career of this band. Definitely recommended.

I wish they would go back to being a joke band. They've been crap ever since Mothers Milk. I loved seeing them in California during the Uplift Mofo Party Plan era when they just seemed out of control.

This is a very good album. I seem to get more pleasure out of listening to Disc 1 but that is not a big issue. There's nothing on here as majestic as "Under the Bridge" or even "Breaking the Girl", but that also is not a big issue. This is a mellower RHCP's and maybe becasue they ARE older, but it still doesn't take much away from the funkiness tht they are known for. In This is a very good album. In fact, I like some of the new stuff they are doing with teh guitars, and the horns, and I even notice a few times Eminem style rapping which is fun. the quality of the songs is there some being stronger than others, but it is mostly an even album, esp. considering it's a double album. This is the RHCP album that I personally have been waiting for. I have always liked their "song" songs better than the "give it away now" songs. In short, I like what I hear on this new release and I give it a "9". Expand

  1. Stadium Arcadium ensures that graying Lollapalooza-era fans, indie teens, and rowdy lunkheads will all be satisfied.
  2. Somewhere along the line the Chilis got sophisticated on our asses.
  3. Frusciante's guitar work... almost single-handedly saves the project, but not quite.
