For me, 19 song are a lot, not for being 19, just because I think this same album with 11 or 12 song would have been awesome. “Mad world” is unnecessary, also Good Place, My girlfriend is my boyfriend, Met him last night, dancing with the devil, etc. But songs like Anyone, easy, what other people say, the way you don’t look at me are pure masterpieces! From 19 I just liked 10 songs. Therefore, I will give it “5”. Half of rating for the half of album. Remember, QUANTITY IS NOT QUALITY. Waiting ya, for the next one! ❤️… Expand

    Demi has put her blood, sweat, tears, and soul into this album, and it SHOWS. It is cathartic, raw, intense, expository, gritty... but it’s also beautiful, glittery, colourful, bright, & pure. And it’s a perfect soundtrack to her life over the past few years. She deserves the world. And this album deserves immense recognition from all    Demi ‘No Skips’ Lovato. This project is everything.

    I think the album is way too long to be captivating enough, and some tracks are definitely beautiful like ICU or The Way You Don't Look At Me, Melon Cake has a beautiful story too... but most of the album is honestly fillers that her fans might enjoy, but I just didn't find very fun or attractive. The album is good at best, not better than Tell Me You Love Me.

She is one of this generation’s greatest vocalists. At 19 tracks, it can get overwhelming and there are a few songs that don’t quite standout. With that being said though, the majority of it does. It’s experimental, fresh andDemi Lovato’s “Dancing with the Devil. The Art of Starting Over” is such a great reintroduction to who she is, where she’s at and the road she’s making for herself. She is one of this generation’s greatest vocalists. At 19 tracks, it can get overwhelming and there are a few songs that don’t quite standout. With that being said though, the majority of it does. It’s experimental, fresh and she uses an array of her vocal range to great extremes - whether it’s belting out notes in “Anyone”, “Dancing with the Devil” to quiet & somber “Carefully” to funny autotune lines in “The Kind of Lover I Am.” Experiential pleasures such as “California Sober”, “The Art of Starting Over” are a joy to listen to (creating a sense of space, freedom and lightness) while “15 minutes” and “Lonely People” add dimension, it’s upbeat but accompanied with heavy percussions. There are handful of ballads that work, in particular “Easy” (with a gorgeous duet from Noah Cyrus) and album closer, “Good Place.” The BOPs are filled in “Met Him Last Night” (with two amazing vocalists; Demi and Ari, singing at a higher register), “What Other People Say” and “My Girlfriends are my Boyfriend”. The other tracks are not standouts in my opinion but they do have the ability to be a grower. There are peaks and valleys in this album - which mirrors the road of recovery and journey that Demi’s on. The message is clear; Demi’s flawed, emotional, broken and yet she is confident in her fragility, brave, forward thinking - human. She is here to stay.… Expand

No other album hits the emotional heights of this one, and I couldn’t be more proud of her for overcoming one of the most challenging moments of her life and producing such an amazing work of art.     I’ve been following Demi since her Cool For The Summer/Confident era. TMYLM is her best effort yet. Unfortunately this album really falls short. It’s a more mature, diverse approach but overall, nothing stands out. The track list is a mess, the album photo shoot is uninspiring and confusing (what is she wearing??). The album title is also way too long, just pick one or the other.

    This is her best by far. The chronological story telling alongside the great production makes this her most cohesive album. "The Art of Starting Over", "Met Him Last Night" (featuring Ariana Grane) and "Easy" (with Noah Cyrus) are stand out tracks.

In a time where fellow ex-acts are producing lazy and non-memorable music (Positions and the Selena Gomez EP), the songwriting on this album is immaculate, it makes Demi one of the best songwriters of our time along with the likes of Taylor Swift, Lewis Capaldi to name a few.What does this album symbolise?     Lovato's frankness is disarming, forcing a listener to reckon with the depths of the singer's distinction, yet the album works best when it veers toward lighter territory, letting the slick R&B rhythms and sugared hooks carry Lovato's emoting.

    The opening three tracks are almost an EP in their own right, before a quick reset. Semi title track ‘The Art Of Starting Over’ begins anew, a straight forward bop that gets to the root of Demi’s recovery – her natural talent, her ear for pop magic, affording room for personal renewal.
