The new film is more expansive, more beautiful, funnier, nuttier and — this is the most difficult trick for any comic-book movie to pull off — more touching than the first film.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is the deranged Marvel disco you’d expect from a filmmaker who wants to push the limits of an otherwise rigid and structured system.

This movie made me cry; when it released, I considered it the best the MCU could possibly offer, and even now its hard for me not to consider it among the best. I know it's not for everyone, but this film meant something for me.

To some degree, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is a more offbeat film than the original, with better gags, better (and more cartoonish) action, and more visual variety.
Shot for shot, line and line, it’s an extravagant and witty follow-up, made with the same friendly virtuosic dazzle. Yet this time you can sense just how hard the series’ wizard of a director, James Gunn (now taking off from a script he wrote solo), is working to entertain you. Maybe a little too hard.
What flipped by as a funny, big-budget whimsy before takes on gravitas — daddy issues, intimacy issues, trust issues.
The characters are still fun to be around, the one-liners are still sharp...and the soundtrack is, of course, terrific. But there are only so many times you can slap on a Fleetwood Mac toe-tapper and expect it to paper over the cracks.
It’s a rare misstep for the usually sure-footed folks behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Like the first part: the humour is great, the music full of oldies are top, the pictures amazing, the characters different, but not so grey like in the predecessor, because they are already on the good side. The story is a bit better and reveal the origin of Peter.

Only slightly better then the first in my opinion. Not cause it was that great of a movie. Only because of the Groot and it was pretty funny, that's it!

Had its moments, but felt like, the creators had millions of ideas, and we saw just a drop of the ocean. Well, it still had the best visual solutions a Marvel-movie ever had, or an even more colorful palette of characters, now, even the villain wasn't fully saltless and boring, but I won't say that Ego was an evil buddy we actually feared, I'm just saying, that he had a story, some connection, and some stupid & boring **** as always to come up with a "motivation". At least, it was spectacular, and also funny, and also had great songs and you wouldn't expect, but emotional power. Not much worse than the 1st one, imo.

Horrible gimmicky and literally cringe at 50% of the times this is a marvel sin and so unlike its genius first movie "evil star dads" really? killing millions of children and stockpiling there skeletons within yourself seriously?Then golden people were so boring half of the jokes dont land unlike the first movie and are honestly awkward or odd or way to silly at times I get the 70s theme of it all so its a little bit potheady but it seriously has some issues chris pratt and the soundtrack, score all its points on the rating system

Yikes - not sure what's going on here.. the story was OK, but overall I found this terrible - the humor was not only bad, but also non-stop. It was sometimes funny, but really felt like it was trying too hard, and the story at times was really bad - kind of "Star Wars" episode 1 and 2 awkward... Some of the scenes were pretty cool, but you can't live off set pieces alone... I just can't recommend this one. I'm surprised there weren't more negative reviews from critics! It did take a lot of the elements that audiences loved from the first movie and took them to another level, so I can see why some people like it so much, but I have to be honest... this one was not for me. Ego was terrible.... so annoying, and so boring!!!
