    A spectacular debut by the young Nickelodeon star. People were really surprised by the vocals and content of the album. Haha at the people who thought Yours Truly was gonna be full of bubblegum pop and **** like other generic Disney / Nickelodeon stars. Her vocals are literally flawless, and the first three tracks are a great first impression. Tracks 11 and 12 (Popular Song and Better LeftA spectacular debut by the young Nickelodeon star.     Arinana's debut album was spectacular. You would think that a nick star that's still pretty young would push out disgusting garbage that you'll never want to listen to after the first listen but surprisingly this album was an instant classic. It didn't have amazing lyrics but the beats of the songs were irresistible and the production was better than any pop album this year.

    I really love this album, I didn't think that a Nickelodeon actress could release an album with this quality. It's so sad that she changed her style and became comercial with ''My Everything''. Maybe she will change with Moonlight but I don't think so. Honeymoon Avenue is my favorite song of her..

    Spectacularly catchy songs are the content of Ariana's debut, and the production is also top-notch albeit sometimes a tad bit too sweet and sugary. Grande's vocals are great and elevates her horrible lyricism into a more listenable state.

    This album is worth a purchase if you don't mind Ariana's terrible lyricism.

    Ariana Grande is the voice of her generation and has such great talent for music. Her voice other than her vocal range, is beautiful most of the time throughout the album and the rest of the time is showcasing in singing abilities. It seems like very few people reviewed Ariana Grande's first album here. The initial excitement for her release is still there, even after My Everything era had a smashing success, the critically acclaimed Yours Truly might be the beloved favorite for her fans. And it might be her favorite too, because she is very identified with it, she wishes she lived in Honeymoon Avenue and has tattoed hearts on her body. This was a #1 album as well but the overall opinion was that she was very underlooked. She is the opposite now, a superstar viewed and regarded to high standards when it comes to about anything measurable that indicates success. She is considered a hit maker now but essentially Ariana Grande always wanted to make an R&B album, this will always be the foundation of her career, which I hope is very long lived. When people doubt her future or recent material, they can always check out Yours Truly, I think she could make anyone appreciate it and see how Ariana has a great place in music. As we can see she can be a full pop star or a very gifted R&B singer, there is no way she doesn't continue growing as an artist. And we can't settle for Yours Truly to be her best album.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. i have to say that if you compare my everything and dangerous woman to this album you will see how much Ariana had grown. I have to admit that this album is my least favorite out of all her albums. The songs are ok and well written . I have to give it to her for those amazing vocals of hers. I am happy that she is growing into a huge artist and that her first album did quite well with the charts and also sales.

    It's really amazing how on her first album, Ariana Grande managed to show herself as a woman with a voice and who can excel in some voices of her generation. With an incredible voice, "Yours Truly" is an ingenious and cohesive work, without many artificial effects that sometimes spoil a good work. Ariana was beginning to follow a path of talent and intelligence in her way of doing music.

    This albums is so fun and spectacular. It is very rare to find a good debut album, however Miss Grande has shown that she is much more than being an actress with red hair on a Nickelodeon TV Show.

    For some time, I have heard of rivalries between Taylor Swift--whose music I have loved--and Ariana Grande, whom I have not listened to extensively. Because of this, I decided to listen to Grande’s music to really be able to compare the two. After just one album, I cannot do anything because that’s just not enough to base comparisons on. However, I did find that Yours Truly, Ariana Grande’s first album, only beats one of Swift’s albums: the notorious “reputation”, which I gave a score of 2.18, as it suffers from extensive use of generic drum kits and synths and the lyric quality deterioration (they had been so powerful in previous Taylor Swift albums). Now, back to Grande. Yours Truly suffers from the same musicality issue but puts autotune into the mix, which I am not a fan of. Despite this, Grande is able to make upbeat music that does a fair job of disguising these commonalities, so this issue isn’t a big deal for most of the songs in this album. Specifically, I thought Popular Song was amazing, as I love the musical “Wicked” and I was thrilled that they made a real song out of the musical’s version, and other songs like Piano and Better Left Unsaid were great as well. That being said, I did have a bit of a problem with Right There. Right There simply uses too much autotune and has some weird rap riff thing that I wasn’t a fan of, plus it uses some annoying drums. Besides some other minor issues, I had a pretty good time listening to what Ariana Grande had to offer, and I look forward to hearing more of her stuff. Highlights: Honeymoon Avenue, Tattooed Heart, Piano, Popular Song, and Better Left Unsaid.    … Expand

    Besutiful debut album made for nostalgia effects, showing ariana’s versatily and vocals while stickikg to a retro sound. The album also has great ballads and hits, will make you cry, fall in and out of love, and dance.

    Her debut album might be her best of work, yet. As she gave songs that gives us nostalgia. This album greatly showcases her talent in singing, and it's giving me the chills! Her powerful voice is one of the best in this generation. The mix between bubblegum pop and soulful ballad on her album is a perfect combination.

    Amazing! One of the best debuts ever! The Way (yes I did it) Ariana leads us into this masterpiece is incredible, there is a "teen" vibe within all of the songs, making the album cohesive and fun. You will not get bored while listening to Yours Truly, because each one of the tracks brings its own message. Someone is definitely going to be crowned as a member of the pop royalty, right AG?

The album opens with "Honeymoon Avenue" which has a nice intro and the song's entire production still sounds very fresh. Its outro was very unnecessary though.
    The    "Yours Truly" was released 7 years ago today and started the career of Ariana Grande. This album was inspired by her idols such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera and was meant to be a throwback to 90s R&B. The album opens with "Honeymoon Avenue" which has a nice intro and the song's entire production still sounds very fresh. Its outro was very unnecessary though.
    The album's second single "Baby I" is a very smooth mid-tempo R&B song. I love the horns in the background. Its chorus is a shameless rip-off of Mariah Carey's "Secret Love".
    "Tattooed Heart" has a doo-wop sound and is simply a beautiful ballad. Her vocals are incredible on this one. "Daydreamin‘" is another great song that has a very nice melody in my opinion. The album's lead single "The Way" featuring Mac Miller still sounds fresh today and I remember being obsessed with it when it was released. Also her high notes towards the end of the song are incredible. "Almost Is Never Enough" featuring Nathan Skyes is a beautiful piano ballad with great lyrics. It reminds me a lot of Whitney Houston. "Popular Song" featuring Mika is my guilty pleasure. It doesn’t fit on this album but it’s just a very fun pop tune to be honest. Of course the album has its weaknesses. "Piano" sounds very dated and messy. "Lovin' It" is a terrible song and in my opinion one of the worst songs of Ariana's entire discography. The album's final track "Better Left Unsaid" doesn’t fit on this album...at all. It has a very VERY dated dance pop sound. Overall I think that "Yours Truly" is a solid debut album. I love its uniqueness. Which other 20 year old act, especially one that is tied to a Nickelodeon show, releases a debut album that pays tribute to 90s R&B? Especially in 2013 where EDM and dance pop where popular and done by literally everyone. This album definitely stood out and many of its songs still sound fresh today. Of course it has its weakness, its songs are not as strong as album tracks from "Dangerous Woman" or "thank u, next" but the debut is rarely ever an artist’s strongest work. And it’s still miles ahead of "Sweetener" lol.

    Para ser el album debut de Ariana Grande es un buen trabajo, claro se nota cierta inmadurez en algunas letras y muy poco trabajas pero tanto en ritmo y vocalmente el album destaca, incluyendo varias hermosas baladas pop.

Podoba mi się, że na swoim debiutanckim albumie artystka nie poszła na łatwiznę zatrudniając topowych producentów robiąc typową dla tej dekady muzykę pop zorientowaną na billboard top 100, ale w jej muzyce przejawiają się inspirację muzyką której słuchała jako dziecko czyli pop i R&B lat 90tych takich wykonawców jak Christina Aguilera czy Whitney Houston. Zaowocowało to świetnym "Honeymoon Avenue", są tu utwory jak "Daydreamin'" w których znaleźć można Doo Wop lat 50tych, jest fajny hip hopowy "The Way" z Maciem Millerem i może nie niosący ze sobą jakości, ale ciekawie wieńczący album utwór EDM "Better Left Unsaid". Jest tutaj talent, ładny, mocny głos i trochę szkoda, że całość sypię się pod monotonną produkcją, miałkimi tekstami i katastrofalnymi występami gościnnymi miki i Sykesa.… Expand

    Her voice is so powerful. It feels like a Broadway show. There are really weak songs but strong ones too. Good for a 2013 debut album, but I'm reviewing it in 2020. 65/100.

    Since it's ariana's debut album it did every well! I'm so proud of her and looking forward to this album to get on a high level of streams, it will probably get 1B streams in 2020 which is 90% possible! Some songs of this album are sooooo gooodddd but some like popular songs you can't hear more than 1 time, you'll hear it 1 time and then forget about it lol

    It is one of the best works performed by a new artist and its release. The sound is good, but sins in its exaggerated vocals and something that sounds commercial. Songsas stay in your head but don't become saturated, but good to sing. You can be sure with a well-rated debut album like that, something better comes in a few years.

    Even though this album can't compare this her others it's still perfect. But I believe it's very "soft" and "bubbly". I would prefer more Savage lyrics idk.

    Ariana's debut album is gorgeous, beautiful and enjoyable. She has demonstrated her strong vocal since her debut album. People say that she is the young Mariah Carey because of her vocal, yes she is. All of the tracks on this album touch my feelings, made me chill and some tracks are fun like "The Way", "Right There"

    Ariana com certeza serve vocais bonitos, contudo eu não acredito que seja um álbum consistente porque existem altas e baixas no decorrer do álbum, também acho que ele não oferece muito em criatividade e em letras e soa um pouco disneyland em várias faixas, o que, eu não considero agradável.

    Yours Truly é o primeiro album da Ariana Grande e também o qual da inicio na sua carreira musical, lançado na época em que ela atuava em seriados da Nickelodeon, traz um ar de princesa de contos de fada romântica e moderna, traz ótimos vocais da Ariana, mesmo sendo o primeiro é simples e agradável.

    Yours Truly is a very safe record. Mostly written by two of R&B's most mawkish hawkers, Babyface and Harmony Samuels, it’s built on cliché and tradition, and written professionally to a fault.
