chriswJul 16, 2008Its really funny to see all these 9 and 10 ratings then a few places like the la times are dumb enough to give it a 2 out of 5

Will******Jul 16, 20089.5 it's not a recent classic like Food and Liquor, but besides that it's the next best hip hop cd to come out.... tied with Phoaroh Monch - Desire. untitled contains- Brilliant lyricism and the beats are above par, because lets face it Nas is not 50 cent, you don't listen to his cd for the beats. The Game has a lot to live up to. One Love.

EmH.Jul 20, 2008Untitled is a new classic from the ever so consistant Nasir Jones. It is an insult seeing TC3 receiving 9's while Untitled has an average of 6 and 7s. The Pitchfork review is laughable. 9.5/10 I'm giving Nas' greatest album since Stillmatic. 1. Illmatic 2. Stillmatic / Untitled 4. It Was Written 5. God's Son 6. Hip-Hop Is Dead 7. Street's Disciple 8. I Am.

JohnS.Jul 15, 2008Powerful lyrics, and while the lower rated reviews mostly knock the synth driven 80's style beats, they aren't that bad, and do not take away from the impact of this album. Cop it!

CedricW.Jul 16, 2008Nas did a damn good job with the message in this album.

JoeT.Aug 23, 2008Second (or third?) the other reviewers, ...Pitchfork is waaay off. (Maybe they should stick to twee indie bands out of Sweden?) Though inconsistent at times, Nas has been on fire and consistently pushing himself forward ever since 'Stillmatic' and after he stopped bothering to produce another Illmatic. Can't wait for what he tries next.

[Anonymous]Jul 16, 2008This album reflects current cultural and global issues. It is a well balanced album and appropriate for the times.

JeremyH.Jul 16, 2008His Lyrical genius is impeccable. He is the last of a dying breed of mainstream lyrically talented MCs.

HamedJul 16, 2008A lyrical Masterpiece to go along with above average production.

RamonS.Jul 17, 2008One of the best albums of his career, definitely at the same level as Illmatic. If hip hop was dead this album has resurrected it.

MycroftW.Jul 18, 2008A shame that the only thing people seem to do when hearing a new Nas album is wonder whether this will be another Illmatic. But by that standard over 99 percent of records after 1994 and not only in hiphop would fail. This one should be headed for the end of the year llists in stead of getting the current mixed bag of reviews.

RubenG.Jul 20, 2008Illmatic is still the greatest but "untitlted" comes in tied for 2nd. there are plenty of subliminal hits that prove what hip hop is about. "Queens get the money" is easily the best track not as political but Nas verses over the beat fit poetically.

ScottG.Jul 14, 2008Most relevant hip hop album of our time. Period. Please listen to it and explore the ideas/concepts he is bringing to the table. This album can spark the mind of an intelligent person to create change for the better. I know It's just a record, but we need more ones like this. It's grammy worthy material.

blackjewsusJul 15, 2008WTF are these critics on... this was the best album lyrically in the last three years and easily a step up from his last two... Yea the beats were average but they were still listenable and the point is Nas's flow is untouchable on this.

DaveJul 16, 2008Is Pitchfork gone stupid or is the critic in their office 10 years old white girl? This is the best album in a decade, how can you compare it to some Carter III? Stupid morons.

EduardoG.Jul 17, 2008Album of the Year AMAZINGLY low scores from "music" magazines and newspapers. Production and lyrics equally outstanding.

-
SamA.Jul 23, 2008This is a fantastic album. Just like (most of) his others, except without the one or two throwaway tracks that he tends to put on there. This album, just like every album since God's Son, has nothing to do with Illmatic, so people should stop talking about it!!!

Awards & Rankings
-
From "Project Roach," where Nas says that the NAACP's burial of "n*gger" was pointless, to "Untitled," which discusses Louis Farrakhan's role in America, the Queens MC impresses his listener while provoking social and political thought.
-
It's refreshing to hear a complicated record that doesn't shy from grown-up ambition.
-
More often than not, though, Nas offers windy whines instead of innovative ideas.
