After hearing the first two songs you will wish the rest of the album (which is really good) was even better. They need to stick with one sound and really develop it. So far the retro 80's sound of the first two tracks has the most potential. They seem to get better every album.

The songs here seem to differentiate themselves from one another more so than on earlier works, as the lyrics prevent any instrumentals from bleeding into the next. [#7]

It doesn't all work, but there are euphoric peaks... that rival the far-out grooves of David Axelrod and The Flaming Lips. [Aug 2004, p.106]
  3. It's subtle in all the right places, majestic when it needs to be, and with the exception of a few less-inspired ballads, is a damn fine album from start to finish.
