Aug 2, 2019Worst Album i have ever listened to by a good artist. Hot shower is the worst rap song of 2019. The big day is ruined by a guy screaming at the top of his lungs. The album has no continuity.
-
Aug 5, 2019This is by far the worst project of Chance's career. The 80 minute album revolves entirely around the wedding theme and is full of corny upbeat songs with unconvincing melodies, an awkward production and the artist's worst lyrical performance so far. With the exception of three or four tracks out of a total of 22, this is a long boring mess and the biggest disappointment of the year.
-
Aug 21, 2019This album should have been called The Big Mess.

Aug 18, 2019This new chance album is boring, generic, lack lust and all around a major step back for the Chicago MC in terms of production, lyricism and conceptuality.
-
Jul 31, 2019Some tracks like 5 Year Plan and Do You Remember are good, but with 22 tracks, many of which are bad like Hot Shower and Zanies and Fools, this was a very disappointing debut album from one of the most promising artists of the decade
-
Aug 1, 2019One of the worst hip hop albums of the decade. The production is boring and chance’s lyrics.
-
Aug 1, 2019It’s **** Usually listen to every album all the way through. However this was unbearable to the point where I had to turn it off halfway through. Too king and diluted and just awful lyrically and sonically
-
Aug 4, 2019I think Chance the Rapper loves his wife. Honestly, this is Chance’s worst album, and this is coming from a fan of his. Hopefully this isn’t the start of a new era of bad Chance the Rapper albums. If it is, at least he still has a job for Kit Kat...

Aug 16, 2019This is a massive disappointment compared to his previous work such as Acid Rap and Coloring Book, which had a more unique and dynamic feel. This album struggles with many ideas and concepts that fails to achieve any meaningful purpose.
-
Aug 17, 2019We get it Chance. You love your wife.
Best Tracks:All Day Long,Do You Remember,Eternal, We Go High,I Got You, Roo,Sun Come Down, Town on a Hill
Worst Tracks:Hot Shower,Ballin Flossin,Get a Bag,Found a Good One -
Aug 26, 2019One of the worst albums I have ever heard. It took everything in me to even finish the record. Not sure what happened. Was his music always bad? Or was I just young and dumb with his previous projects? Save yourself some time and skip over this album. Not worth a listen.
-
Oct 28, 2019aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
-
Aug 1, 2019This album is an absolute travesty. A bloated 22 track (77 minute) project with countless filler verses and terrible lyrical moments. Yet another bad album to add to the pile of disappointment that 2019 has been thus far.
-
Jul 29, 2019Album is extremely uninspired and entirely phoned in. First three songs are the only ones with real promise, every other song is mediocre or actively bad. Chance the Rapper is on a downhill spiral.
-
Jul 31, 2019Unfocused, overstuffed and undercooked record with way too many components going to make a cohesive record. From hip house to trap to 90s R&B chance tries it all with a heavy dose of insecure and marriage relating subject matter which can leave the listener feeling tiresome.
-
Aug 2, 2019Biggest disappointment of the year so far. Long, boring and at times unlistenable. A very very light 3

Jul 28, 2019Unfortunately Chance rambles on with forgettable song after forgettable song. The listening experience ranges from boring to laughably poor. By the end it feels as if you've sat through the longest church service ever. Overall the high points are overwhelmed by the mediocre tracks that fill this album.
-
Jul 31, 2019Biggest letdown of the year, by far. Middling production values and insufferable, preachy lyrics. Some of these tracks are all-around terrible. I’m giving it 4 stars for the 4 good tracks on this overlong mess. Long-time Chance fan here.
-
Jul 29, 2019It’s a big big no from me dawg. None of the songs go together, the beats are incredibly boring. While his ability to write is still 10/10, he really needs to not produce anymore. Also why does he seems like he’s chasing trends now? It’s bad, it really is. There are 22 songs and by the end of it you just want to never hear anything elder ever again.
-
Jul 30, 2019This is beyond a doubt the worst album of Chance's career and the most cringeworthy Hip Hop album to drop this year let alone this decade.
-
Jul 30, 2019Album was wayyyyy too long. Most of the songs sound the same to the point where after listening i could barely even remember any of the songs. Very repetitive and not worth waiting three years for the follow up after Coloring Book
-
Jul 31, 2019holy **** this is bad. horribly mixed, awful vocal preformances by chance and several features, lyrically almost Revival levels of awful.
-
Jul 27, 2019Not good. Boring, too long, and insufferably preachy. It's amazingly pretentious and, despite overflowing with talent, lacks any real purpose beyond stroking an already inflated ego. Cringe.
-
Jul 27, 2019
-
Jul 28, 2019An absolute chore to get through, it's not apparent if this album is as long as it is to maximize streaming revenues, or because Chance himself is pretentious enough to believe that you should sit through 77 minutes of this.

Jul 27, 2019Chance moves on from his previous styles into many new different styles + genres, and it’s very successful. from songs such as hot shower to ballin flossin to the title track, there is a huge diversity on the album. While a few tracks/features could have been scrapped, the album is, for the most part, great.

Jul 28, 2019It's a good album but Chance needs to stop interrupting his own really good flows

-
Jul 27, 2019Has no clear focus or tone. Comes out as a messy, long, and boring 4th album from Chance. As a big Chance fan, I didn't connect to any of the songs the way I did with his previous albums. The songs aren't creative and come out as mediocre.
-
Jul 26, 2019swings big and murders a couple of tracks. Opens strong with two stunning songs, closes strong. A miss or two on a 22 song album, but otherwise stellar.
-
Jul 27, 2019Has some good songs but not upto mark. The album is long for me and should have been less than an hour by removing filler tracks.

Jul 28, 2019Chance The Rappers The Big Day is an amazing album, but it falls short in the first four songs in the album. These songs are just outliers in the album. The rest of the album is a very well made album with more of a consistent flow.

Jul 26, 2019A good mix of the old and the new. Varied production, surprising features, and a lot of fun, interesting rapping/singing from Chance. Something for everyone!
-
Jul 27, 2019Unlike prior releases, “Big Day” fails to hold the listeners attention past the laughable features and the gospel-pop induced verses.
-
Jul 28, 2019Very Disappointing debut album. Seems to have gone and try to fit in with trends, like songs Hot shower. No song stands out and all seem to be unmemorable.
-
Jul 27, 2019This album has good songs few and far between, but is mostly just a drawn out boastful album that didn't need to happen. Disappointing considering his previous mixtapes.
-

-
Jul 29, 2019Instant classic. The album features contributions from Megan Thee Stallion, Bon Iver, Nicki Minaj, Shawn Mendes, CocoRosie, James Taylor, and Randy Newman. 10/10
-
Aug 5, 2019Definitely too many songs, if you summerize it in 14 songs like his previous projects you'll get a great piece of music everyone. Gotta shout out Eternal, All Day Long, Do you remember, Handsome and many others
-
Jul 31, 2019Evidently expectations were way too high for this. It's a good album, and people are going to start realizing that in a year or two when all the buzz has died out. Just don't go into it expecting every song is going to be the best track Chance has ever made.
-
Jul 29, 2019This album is damn good. I know we live in a society full of nihilistic negative douche bags that hate anything with a positive message but this album is just that and it’s awesome and super refreshing.
-
Sep 11, 2019I think this is one of the worst rap albums of all time. I have no other explanations. Just watch theneedledrop's review on it, BLUCK!
-
Aug 3, 2019Not without its kinks; How Shower is more silly than terrible, but it is also completely out of place - an afterthought-worthy song plugged in after a strong front trio to open the album. Nonetheless, Chance clearly still has a mind for clever-to-charmingly cheesy bars. The depth of previous releases is a bit absent, but it’s still a quality release at its core.

Feb 4, 2020The hate for this album is actually absurd. It's like a bunch of angry, lonely people got mad that he made an album about the love of his life. It's solid from top to bottom. Great production, some great songs, really polished, and moving in a lot of ways.

Aug 29, 2019Not gonna lie. Chances worst album to date. Clearly he didn't spend enough time on this as the wedding was earlier this year. Still, any Chance is good Chance, but try harder next time.
-
Aug 20, 2019so this album was actually really good but then i heard needledrops review and i believe its now a 0 out of 10. I do believe Chance did 9/11 thanks i didnt listen to the album and i give this one a meh out of good bye

Jul 30, 2019UNPOPULAR OPINION: Hot Shower is an enjoyable song.
Overall though this album has some hard beats, some good vocals, and wild vocals. -
Aug 7, 2019Sonically is VERY pleasing and the collabs are cool with me. Love the production on most tracks. The Nicki collab missed smt besides exellent verse of her the sing missed smt. But fav track is ETERNAL!!!
-
Aug 1, 2019Literally one good song, Eternal. Everything else sounds like someone who's not Chance, or a Chance that's retired from creativity.

Jul 29, 2019Chance’s debut is GREAT! He still proves why he is one of the best new artists of his generation, and why he will last/have longevity in his career, not just in music, but overall. 10/10 = A-

Jul 30, 2019I would be say that im highly disappointed because this is not the Chance we used to know...
-
Jul 30, 2019Delicious album. Soundtrack to summer. I even like better than his last album
-
Jul 30, 2019Quizás deberías de seguir escuchando Coloring Book y Acid Rap un tiempito más hasta que Chance saque algo mejor o igual porque "spoiler alert" this album ain't good.
-
Jul 30, 2019Chance the rapper rips off Kanye West. Has mickey mouse rhymes. His features outshine him. What else is there to say about this disappointment?

Aug 10, 2019This album is a thing of beauty. Truly personal. Wonderful vibes. And rewards the listener with every play.
Sure, not all of the songs are 10s - But the ones that are - man. Wow.
So refreshing in today's scene - BIG themes of marriage and love make this the hip hop album of the year for me.
The love story playing out in Chance's music over the last few years is something truly special. -

Jan 19, 2020TBD lacks an overall theme and features little to no continuity. A low effort output in both production and writing, as this record features some of the corniest bars on any album this decade. TBD truly lacks any depth or substance. A poorly mixed, poorly written, and poorly conceived record. Very few highs and many, many lows.

Jul 2, 2020Coming off of 2 brilliant releases, Chance drops a dud. Overfilled with tracks, features, and at times extremely corny lyricism, this album does nearly nothing for the listener. Chance really had something to say in his previous 2 projects, in this one it seems he would rather have a popular TikTok dance craze.

The WireSep 13, 2019This album finds itself wandering far too into pop territory, without the accompanying substance and adventure that made his preceding releases so refreshing. [Oct 2019, p.67]
-
Aug 6, 2019TBD, on the other hand, wrangles with value-laden mindlessness in a manner that is both fun and endearing. TBD succeeds, in other words, on the merit of its recontextualisation of current trends into a project that is equal parts soapbox and sellable product.
-
Aug 1, 2019Occasional nearsighted lyrical perspectives and three or four excellent but inessential tracks keep The Big Day from quite reaching masterpiece status, but it's still the most grown up (and the most polished) rendering of Chance's eternally bright spirit in his catalog.
